Nearly half of Republicans says they would not vote for former President Trump if he were convicted of a felony, and 52% wouldn't vote for him if he were in prison on Election Day.

I smell a rat. The article said:

“All those theories that were put out did not prove to be true,” Mr. DeSantis said in response to a reporter’s question after a campaign event at a brewery in Northeast Iowa.

But did not say what the reporter's question was. Why not?

Later in the article, it has another quote saying Maduro didn't steal the election, but no context as to what he was asked. .

“It was not an election that was conducted the way I think that we want to, but that’s different than saying Maduro stole votes or something like that,” he said. “Those theories, you know, proved to be unsubstantiated.”

As I have said before, I am a DeSantis fan, but view the fact Florida still uses voting machines a deal breaker.

But I am very suspect of this New York Times article. Has anybody seen a video?

“This complaint concerns the freedom of speech and the extraordinary steps the United States government has taken under the leadership of Joe Biden to silence people it does not want Americans to hear,”

What every conservative — including YOU — needs to do ASAP: Become a voting member of our Party.

Why?

Because we must elect state legislators who will pass election reform laws requiring all counties to stop using any kind of imaging machines for counting votes &, instead, return us to the “gold standard“ of counting votes. Again, we must elect state legislators to enact laws for: hand-counting at the polling locations before the paper ballots are allowed to leave the premises and making voting by mail the exception and not the rule.

Again, the first step in taking back our government: elect better people. By taking back the Republican Party from those running it now.

That means YOU becoming a precinct committeeman for your voting precinct. (Precinct committeeman is called different things in different states (precinct chair, precinct delegate, precinct committee officer, member, etc.; the bottom line is that you want to become a voting member of your local or county committee, and it is not difficult to do so).)

When I was a Democrat, the only Republicans I knew of were on my television, and they were never shown in a positive light.

They were illustrated by the mainstream media apparatus as buffoons with idiotic ideas who were callously individualistic, and, of course, bigots.

When I was introduced to politics, I was told there were two parties: The Democrats are "for Blacks" and the Republicans are racists.

But here's the thing: I had no personal example of a Republican whom I could point to who could challenge this simplistic perception.

This political theory was backed up by what seemed like the facts on the ground. No Republican took the time to disabuse me or anyone in my community of our perception.

.@FitchRatings’ downgrade of the nation's credit rating from AAA to AA+ is a result of frivolous spending and ballooning national debt for programs like the CARES and "Inflation Reduction" Acts. Florida's AAA rating remains the standard-bearer, serving as the nation's blueprint for fiscal responsibility.

In FL, we have run large budget surpluses and have paid off nearly 25% of the state debt.

National economic decline is a choice.

To qualify for the second debate, candidates must now surpass a 50,000 unique donor threshold, with at least 200 coming from 20 states or territories

“Our district will no longer participate in any attempt to divide us by race or advance the notion that we are not created equal,” the new district administrator said. “As the former head of the Central Florida Urban League, a civil rights organization, I can say definitively that our community thrives only when we work together despite our differences.”

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District said the previous district tended to award contracts “based on racially and gender driven goals.”

The standards are clear in teaching that, despite their enslavement, blacks developed skills that “in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit” — not that slavery was beneficial to them. It’s worth mentioning that the College Board’s African American studies course includes similar teachings.

But these facts didn’t stop Republicans like Scott from advancing Harris’ false narrative about the subject. When asked about it late last week, Scott embraced the lie and used it to attack fellow 2024 primary contender Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“Today, the bottom half of households have less wealth than they did in 1989. Meanwhile, the top 10 percent have added $29 trillion in wealth. COVID lockdowns accelerated that trend. It diminished the purchasing power of the middle class and upended our workforce such that millions of people left the workforce and still to this day have not returned.

“Over six million prime-age men are neither working nor looking for work at all,” DeSantis said. “In 1953, the labor participation rate of that cohort was 98 percent. Today, it’s 89 percent.”

Trump’s decision to exit the treaty during his first week in office was very popular because it would have allowed United States companies more opportunities to import low-wage workers for domestic jobs that are being done by middle-class Americans.

What Howell essentially got away with—it’s unclear why defense lawyers for Chrestman, who has been in jail for two-and-a-half years currently awaiting an August 4 trial date, have not appealed her order—was to create no-bail rules that apply only to January 6 protesters.

It is inimical to the tenets of equal justice under the law but none of that matters in the Trump-hating cesspool known as the D.C. federal courthouse. (For example, BLM protesters who assaulted police for days in D.C. in 2020 were released and charges dropped. January 6 protesters accused of even minor confrontations with police were denied bail and left to languish in prison for months or years before being convicted at trial or tormented into a plea deal.)

Howell’s ruling now looms large as special prosecutor Jack Smith appears ready to indict Donald Trump this week for his alleged role in January 6. Smith likely will charge Trump with several felonies including charges that have resulted in court-ordered pretrial detention for January 6 defendants.

“I think a lot of the stuff – when he hits me with the juvenile insults – I think that helps me,” DeSantis said. “I don’t think voters like that.”

“I think they look at it and they realize, like – you know what, that’s not effective,” he continued. “I don’t think it’s effective, so I actually don’t mind it at all.”

“I think it’s just a reminder why there are so many millions of voters who will never vote for him going forward.”

RT @RonDeSantis@twitter.com: “To the Left, citizenship is meaningless. Illinois is now letting illegal aliens become police officers.

In Florida, we took action to combat the harms of Biden’s border crisis. We also value our citizen officers who serve and protect our communities.

As President, I will restore American sovereignty.

No illegal alien should have authority over any American citizen. It is a sad commentary on the state of America that this is even a debate.

The way we unify America isn’t by showing up in the “middle” and “compromising.” It’s by embracing the radicalism of the ideas this nation was founded on.

Merit. Free speech. Self governance. Rule of law.

No apologies.
