Serious question. We used to have huge numbers and they’re dying out in a whimper. Clearly this community isn’t getting traction anymore (I blame Reddit). We need to gather big numbers to fight back! It’s in the title. We have one chance to make a real stand here — one that will be broadcast worldwide and set the narrative for the coming political battles. If no one is brave enough to block the parade route, no one is brave enough to save democracy.

Link arms and form a chain across the route. The route is public. If there’s a railing, jump it. Don’t obey officers who tell us not to. Will people get arrested? Absolutely. Maybe tear-gassed. But there is no way the public outcry won’t ruin political careers. This is the best chance we have to make a protest statement that means something. If no one agrees, I have to say that we’ve already lost.

People keep asking “What can I do?” “Where do we go?” “How can this be stopped?”

THIS IS IT! Here’s what you do:

✅ Register to vote, then register all of your friends and family to vote, then drag your friends and family with you to vote in every single election you are eligible; local, state, and federal. Do not allow folks to tell you they don’t care about politics, and then complain about something politics could fix!

ℹ️ Your county has a voter registration page. If you have difficulty finding it, contact your local County Democratic Party. Facebook almost always has groups that point to the party. If you have problems, message me via my site and I will help you directly.

✅ Run for something, anything: volunteer, precinct chair, county chair, school board, city council, judiciary, elected law enforcement, commissioner, congress, whatever seat needs flipping.

ℹ️ Your local County Democratic Party will have a list of all upcoming elections you can run for. Tell them you’re ready. They will help you. If you have problems, message me via my site and I will help you directly.

✅ Organize, volunteer, show up, speak out.

ℹ️ Don’t ask for permission. Don’t pretend “both sides” has any place in honest political discourse. Volunteer and show up with 50501, Texas50501, 50501DFW, or any of YOUR local protest groups. If you don’t know of any, say so and put your county in the comments so one of those groups can pop up and plug themselves. AND PLEASE PLUG YOURSELVES!

✅ Take back power at the local level, where the MAGA built their machine.

ℹ️ If you cannot run, find those who can and support and encourage them. Help volunteer or finding volunteers. Share and spread their social media. We need to vote Democrat or Independent because the Republicans (elected officials, NOT voters!) have been voting lock-step with MAGA. Most Conservatives and Republicans are aware of what’s happening and want to stop MAGA. They are real humans with the same values as the Liberals and Democrats, but they were lied to 24 hours a day for 30 years. The MAGA cult have to be deprogrammed individually before they can be reasoned with.

✅ Shake your old enemy’s hand and work together.

ℹ️ I’m not asking, and I’m not kidding. I didn’t say apologize or ask for an apology. We’re adults and need to act like it. You think anyone will help you if you tell them the moment they do you will lock them up? Don’t be stupid. This is much bigger than left vs right, THIS IS TOP VS BOTTOM, and everyone was betrayed. Stop obstructing progress because you were slighted.

This is not just for Texans; it’s a blueprint for how this fight starts everywhere. You can put your county and ask who is running and if the incumbent (person currently warming the seat) is running unopposed.

Even if you don’t live in Texas, listen close: What happens here affects the whole damn country. The culture war battleground? It’s here. And we’re gonna fight it with ballots, not bullshit.

This sub has seen a steady increase in people deciding that our democracy is officially lost forever and that America is doomed no matter what we do.

That's not true.

Things are bad. Things are scary.

The ONLY thing that guarantees fascism and the end of our democracy? Us giving up. Us deciding to walk away.

I legitimately saw several comments about how 'it's over' and how we are officially an authoritarian state. About how people are deciding to give up politics for good because they don't like how it's going.

You don't think it's by design that the administration is making things hard for us? Of course it is. They want people to be disillusioned. They want people to give up.

Don't listen to them. They are trying to sow a lack of faith in our resistance. This isn't a sprint. This is a long, tiring marathon. Protests aren't going to change things overnight and to expect them to WILL shake your confidence. It is just not how our government works. Adjust your expectations a little bit. Keep persisting. Keep pushing for change. Keep protesting.

This is far from over. Don't let bad actors and bots (yes, there are a legitimately worrying amount of bots here MEANT to sow distrust in what we are doing— keep your eye out) shake your belief in doing that's right.

Organize. Call your local reps. Donate the money you can to the cause. Donate your time at local organizations, food banks, etc. There will always be something you can do.

It isn't over until every single one of us has given up. And that's precisely what they want.

Just got back from protesting at LA City Hall. Had a ton of great conversations including one with a gentleman who seemed very excited about the June 14 protest as well as with a police officer who was very respectful. This is my first protest in over a year and was feeling quite frightened about it but I had a great time.

Earlier today the House passed the Reconciliation Bill also known as the "Big Beautiful Bill." This is nothing but a deadly and destructive bill that will fund The Trump Administration's mass deportation machine. It will also cut funding to vital programs such as SNAP, Medicaid and Medicare, Social Security and many more all to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest individuals and sending more weapons to Israel that will be used in their destruction of Gaza. What truly disturbs me are the work requirements embedded in this bill. This isn't the first time such punitive measures have been slipped into government spending legislation, but their cruelty never loses its sting. This is a form of government-sanctioned euthanasia, quietly administered through starvation, untreated illness, and systemic neglect.

Mandatory work requirements, in this context, are nothing less than a modern form of indentured servitude. There's no middle ground here. It's work until you collapse—or die.

Meanwhile, our system continues to reward those who gamble on stocks, extract value without labor, and live off the profits of others’ toil—contributing little to the real economy and even less to the wellbeing of their fellow citizens. If we truly believed in the value of work, we would honor the humanity of all workers—including those whose bodies or circumstances do not allow them to labor at all.

There is no other logical conclusion to why we aren’t seeing massive protests and visible pushback against what we are seeing unfold right now.

If you look at recent revolutions (Arab Spring, Sudanese Revolution, Myanmar Resistance, etc) things were much worse. People were starving, being beaten, raped, killed, etc.

Things in the US are bad, and in most cases worse that we have ever seen in our lifetime. But it’s not bad enough for people to get off their couches and do something about it.

This saddens me because we are going to have to wait until Trump and his goons completely undo America as we know it. It will be too late when people decide enough is enough.

The question is when will enough be enough? What will be the final straw?

I welcome people to change my mind, but there is just too much apathy out there right now for me to think that there is any chance anything close to a revolution is on the horizon.
