First question: “How is it anonymous if you can tell which teams are completing it and which aren’t?”

Management: “We can’t tell who the individuals are, but we do know which teams they came from”

Second question: “There are under 5 people in each team, therefore isn’t it obvious to management who filled out each one based on writing style for the mandatory additional comments under each option?”

Management: “We won’t try to work out who filled out each form, we’re too busy, just fill it in so we have actionable feedback to make things better because we’re a caring employer”

Yeah, fuck off. I have completed every single one since then marking the company 10/10 in all metrics with “can’t think of anything management can improve, they are doing a great job already!” For every answer.

Pick on someone else. Take my worthless answers, pay me at the end of each month on time, and fuck off and leave me to do my job otherwise.

Why the fuck do employers do this? The only possible outcome of being truthful as to how bad they are and why is a rigged performance review and a dismissal.

They can just fuck off.

A federal court should set aside a new $100,000 fee imposed on H-1B workers by the Trump administration, according to a lawsuit filed by a coalition of labor unions, health-care providers, academic groups, religious organizations, and individual visa holders.

This is about how states can protect social safety nets when the federal government cuts them. Blue states fund red states while getting screwed on Medicare, Social Security, workers rights, everything. States have the legal authority to build their own systems and stop subsidizing this, but politicians won't do it unless we organize and force them. Figured this fits here since it's about protecting ourselves from oligarchs running the federal government.

My partner's job is short staffed right now (works as a line cook), and lately, the bosses have been kinda pissy about call outs. One of his coworkers was sick and has called off a few days in a row. My partner said that the boss was like:

"Yeah, ___ called out cause he's sick. 🙄", basically insinuating that he may be lying. According to my partner, that guy NEVER calls in and is a really good worker. However, there's a coworker that calls in like once every few weeks? So he's kind of ruining it for everyone who needs/wants to request time off, or call in due to sickness. So that might be where it's stemming from.

Anyway, my partner and I were trying to hang out on Halloween (our favorite holiday). So he requested it off, and they acted weird when he did. One of my family members is planning a big bonfire with our extended family the next day (just got the invite today), and invited my partner, as well. So now, he's afraid to request that off too, cause he doesn't want to upset the boss. Here's the thing though: he RARELY calls in or requests time off! They literally made him the lead cook recently because he's so good.

But God forbid someone gets sick, or request time off way in advance. We should be "loyal, reliable, and a team player", and have our lives revolve around work. 🙄

I've been stuck in middle management for 2yrs and it has been exhausting.

I manage a team of 10 on average, I write quotes, walk down jobs, invoice, provide tech support, engineer insrallations, regularly work in the field, procurement, project management, meet with clients, and more.

My bosses claim that our reputation is so bad with this one customer and called me out in a management round table meeting saying, "you need to put your management hat on" as if I'm not already wearing it with a handful of other hats. I asked about the issues and I couldn't get a single one out of them.

My counterpart decided to do the right thing and immediately schedule visits with everyone who the bosses name-dropped.

The first 2 clients within the customer's organization said they have not had any problems with the work nor the technicians. One of them went as far as to say that our work on site has been the smoothest it's ever been - the process to do work in this facility is a bit much.

Belittling me in front of all my peers and gaslighting to make me think that my team is doing amateur work is ridiculous.

This isn't the first time though. I'm always getting 2nd hand information from my peers about the owners talking crap about me. It just finally came out in a meeting.

After almost 8 years, I'm going to pack all my belongings over the weekend, and they'll be getting a 5-day notice on Monday.

So I worked for a company and was handling a lot of things, digital asset management, photography, graphic design (literature and package design), website management, data entry, etc. was given a significant raise (about 7k) when HR decided they need to be competitive with pay when reviewing what everyones job were. VP wasn’t happy about that. Several months later after a lawsuit filed against the company they had to layoff a significant portion of staff. My director fought tooth and nail that I was essential and needed to be kept. She was told no. She made plans to get vendor to hire me and outsource my work with them.

Vendor offered me a job the day after layoff. Two weeks later because of paperwork, drug test and everything I am back to work. My hours for doing work were billed at 4x my hourly pay rate costing my now former employer turned client pushing nearly a quarter of a million in expenses to do the same thing I did in-house for them. Plus the cost of everything else the vendor was doing for them.

So I made a post about how I called my boss out in a meeting about him saying talking about pay is a firable offense. Turns out it was worst than I thought. Not only did they try to gag order us they made the teenagers I work with sign illegal contracts stating they can fire them AND refuse to pay their final paycheck if they get terminated. So they are now also guilty of wage theft. The messed up part is these teenagers don't know any better and actaully believe they can get fired for this. So I reported my company to the labor board. Now thier pissed and firing anyone who talks about it and threatening the teenagers they can get sued for "releasing confidental information". Guess my company is f'ing around and finding out because oh boy when they get sued its going to blow up in their face.

I think that both Democrats and Republicans have proven over the years that they have no interest in moving this country away from our predatory and morally outrageous insurance based healthcare system.

Right now the shutdown fight is over extending the ACA 'expanded' subsides so that millions of people who use the exchanges do not face truly massive hikes in the cost of their insurance.

To give you an example, this is happening to me. I am 41 and my wife is 42. We are small business owners. We are far from poor but very far from rich. Really we're just over the 'fiscal cliff' in earnings, which means our subsidies will go to 0 next year. That also means our premiums will go from being $600/mo to $1600 roughly, which is nearly 20% of our household income. And by the way, this is a BRONZE catastrophic plan, with a $15k deductible. Older people under the medicare age have it so much worse. It's unaffordable and we may go without insurance next year.

I believe we need to crash the insurance markets nationwide to force Washington to act. This is not the ideal time, with fascists in office. However, people are motivated to fight this administration and the status quo, so possibly, it's a great time. If Democrats held power in DC people may get complacent, only to be let down in the end, yet again.

Similar to a hunger strike, I believe young and healthy people should decline getting health insurance even if their job offers it. It should be a national movement with clearly publicized goals. I believe those goals should be clear in defining the problem, but vague in demanding specifics. It is up to our elected representatives to work with experts to solve this problem, and trying to pick a specific healthcare system, i.e. Bernie's plan or Elizabeth Warren's etc, would only lead to infighting and partisanship. What we know is that the system is badly broken and we're tired of waiting. I want our elected leaders to come up with something better, not internet commenters. Let's see those 'concepts of a plan', Mr. Trump.

I am 41, as I said. Clinton tried to reform healthcare in the 90s when I was a child, and failed. Obama passed the ACA when I was in my 20s, but the law is currently failing to live up to the spirit of its expectations, i.e. provide 'affordable' care. We all only have one life to live, and I don't think we should wait any longer.

I believe that the insurance markets will not survive more than one quarter of a true national protest. If we can get national attention from the media, it will encourage legislators in Washington to actually take this problem seriously. If we crash the insurance markets, they will be forced to act.

After years of voting for Democrats and getting marginal progress, I believe it's up to people to force the issue. I think we should call the movement "Lost Patients". It's not something to take lightly, but I consider it like a hunger strike. There are risks. But as it stands we're all one bad diagnosis away from abject poverty or bankruptcy. I don't see how striking is significantly different, and hospitals still must treat you for emergencies.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I am really inspired by the No Kings movement and the turnout there, and I want to focus on a specific policy goal that I think most Americans understand is completely broken.

EDIT*** A few people are calling me crazy. Keep in mind that if the enhanced subsidies don't pass next year, roughly 4 million people are already expected to lose access to insurance due to cost burdens. There will be far far more kicked off Medicaid. For Millions of Americans, they're already part of the protest whether they want to be or not. I think they'd appreciate your solidarity.
