Homicide: 3083 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW

Preliminary Information:

On 7/21/25, around 12:44am, officers were flagged down at 3083 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW. on what appeared to be a vehicle accident. Upon further investigation, officers discovered the male inside the vehicle sustained a gunshot wound and was not responsive. EMS personnel arrived on scene and despite their life saving efforts, pronounced the male deceased. Homicide investigators responded to the scene and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation continues.

Preliminary Statement: On July 18th, 2025, at approximately 8:01PM, officers responded to 887 Washington ST SW., in reference to a female and male shot. Upon arrival, officers located a female with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest and arm. The victim was alert, conscious, breathing and transported to the hospital for treatment. Officers also located a male with an apparent graze wound. Preliminary investigation suggests that a verbal disagreement led to the victims being shot.  Investigators with the Domestic Violence unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstance surrounding this incident.  The investigation is still ongoing.
