My hallway lights are controlled by a MTG275-ZB-RL which works fine despite Tuya MmWave being notorious about Zigbee spam, but this is not about this.

Yesterday I have noticed that my lights will not turn off because they were seeing someone at about 3m from the sensor when there was clearly no one there. So I do what any one of us normal Home Assistant users would do.

I start checking the Zigbee logs, I mess with the configuration, and it has tons. I changed something, it would turn off, then without any reason turn back on. It drove me nuts.

In the end I gave it up as being faulty after 2 years of daily use and was searching for a replacement. I already had the automation I needed to turn it off during the night so it wont keep the lights on until Ali would deliver.

So after about one hour of doing this my wife comes downstairs and casually says: I told you to be careful when carrying the groceries in, we have a fly in the hallway!

Hello everyone,

I would like to introduce you to a Home Assistant-compatible environment and light sensor I am working on.

The idea for the sensor came about when I wondered why the Aquara room sensors weren't reporting CO2, etc., and when I was annoyed that my WLAN door sensor with integrated light sensor was unreliable. So I decided to build my sensor.

Features

• nRF54L with Zigbee
• temperature
• Air humidity
• Air pressure
• CO2 equivalent
• IAQ (Indoor Air Quality)
• VOC
• Ambient light (conversion still pending)
• Battery voltage
• Zigbee2Mqtt + Home Assistant Support
• Requires a single CR2032 battery

Application

The sensor is fully compatible with Zigbee2Mqtt, although (unfortunately) CO2 is not yet implemented, as the cluster cannot be used in the SDK (bug on the part of Nordic) and IAQ and VOC cannot yet be read out via Zigbee2Mqtt, as the configuration is not yet functional (but is already being recorded).

In the long term, the sensor should enable me to control room lighting based on the existing light and implement automation based on air quality.

The price

The sensor costs around €50 for two pieces (including shipping and machine assembly). However, the relatively simple design means that the sensor can also be fitted by hand, which makes it a little more interesting in terms of price.

Trying to find some displays that with easily with esphome, all I really want to do is display a few values from ha sensors etc

The few I've tried all seem really complicated with needing external libraries or access to external services (trying to keep most of my ha as local only) any recommendations? Thanks

I live in a 2-storey house where there's large deviation in room temperature during the summer. I tested the Flair vents but they didn't work out (poor signal, high latency, limited and not the most reliable integration with HA, although I do liked the build quality). I came across some plastic vent covers lately as I need to replace the existing ones (which got rusted and could not be adjusted easily) and thought I could attach the third reality zigbee actuator switch to control the slider. Here's the result.

It's tricky, because having the door lock immediately is good for safety, but sometimes that's weird, like if I have maintenance being done, and it's like "I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me". If I give it time, that kind of works, but then the sound of the door locking scares me a little, also it's not as safe.

Obviously not using auto lock solves this problem, but then you have to lock the door, and sometimes I forget.

Is there a better way of doing this?

There's an issue with the drain that can lead to mold growth on the indoor portion of the unit. The link has inspection instructions and says there will be multiple courses of action:

• return for partial credit
• schedule a technician to come and install a new drain
• order a new drain and self-install.

It might only be me cause I'm so damn lazy. But am I the only one who wishes there was an "update all" button on HACS that would just pull down all the integrations I have and install the newest version. I'd settle for being able to have a checkbox beside things that need update and then tick stuff that I want to update without looking at it and other stuff that I'm like "I should read the release notes to make sure theres no breaking changes before I update that lol
