My reading of the article shows a decision that the right of residents to sue the government for neglect actions was not specifically granted in this instance.

Summary

At a Lafayette, Indiana anti-Trump rally Saturday, a man pulled an assault-style rifle after clashing with protesters who blocked his truck at a Third Street intersection.

Video shows the man in a MAGA hat yelling at protesters, prompting another man—angered by the confrontation with women—to intervene.

The two exchanged shouts before the protester headbutted the man. He returned to his truck, retrieved a rifle, and reentered the crowd.

Police detained but released him, citing self-defense. The “Hands Off!” rally drew nearly 1,000 people and ended early amid safety concerns.

Not sure why the original post was deleted, but I voiced anger at the hypocrisy of the article subject

Seriously. It is absolutely dangerous to go the 45mph speed limit they have up there even after they’ve reportedly started handing out warning tickets. Last time I drove up that way I was going 50mph in the right most lane the entire construction zone and I have never white knuckled a drive more than that. I’m not going to go faster and get a ticket because of everyone else but I’m also sure as hell not going to get ran off the road trying to follow the rules either. The best bet might be to avoid this whole area until it’s all said and done…

I consider myself slightly in a conservative, Christian viewpoint camp. I say slightly because as I get past middle age, all those views or opinions have shifted.

I'm not a huge fan of abortion, but my opinion is slightly more nuanced and that's not a topic I think will be fruitfully discussed online.

Button line, seeing things like this however make me slightly lose my fucking mind.

Insert huge rant here about hypocrisy and unreasonable people, laced with outrage and much profanity.

I know others in my circle who also feel similarly. My hope is that people might know even church going conservative people think this is fucking bullshit and that piece of shit attorney general need to go. Fuck him.

According to court documents, Obua told a nurse that he drove 18 hours to Terre Haute and that there was a multi-million dollar money scam among a couple of doctors in the same office as the victim. The nurse told investigators that Obua made reference to the CEO who was shot and killed in New York City and stated that this situation was very similar.

A Republican running for an Indiana House of Representatives seat was arrested early Monday morning on the eve of Election Day for commenting on a Facebook post made by someone who has a protective order against him, according to police.

GOP candidate Jim Schenke, who is running to unseat District 26 House Rep. Chris Campbell, was booked on a preliminary invasion of privacy charge at 6:10 a.m. Monday, according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office. Records show he was released after paying a cash bond of $250.

Here’s what Hoosiers need to know ahead of the voter registration deadline, which is the end of the day on Oct. 7.

The easiest way to register or ensure your registration is still active is online at IndianaVoters.com. There, you can also request an absentee ballot, find your polling place and see who’s on your ballot.

You can also register by mail or in person at your local election administrator’s office.

If you need to register or update your registration, you have to provide some proof of residence. The quickest way to do that is by submitting your driver’s license or state ID number, or the last four digits of your Social Security number.

You can also provide proof of residence via a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or government document that shows your name and address.
