I’m not sure how to call it

As searching inside communities is on the way I thought about how it would look. Imo it would be best to have to swipe down for a search bar to appear, like in some ios apps.

After switching to to Search bottom tab, I press on the search text field, but the keyboard won’t appear/cursor won’t start.

Where a comment has been made on my post, it would be awesome to see which post it was related to. It helps give context when there are 15 replies to 5 different posts since I last checked.

I'm not sure if this is a feature request or bug report. But I wish it was possible to mark replies as read so that only new replies shows up. And so that the notification disappears if there are no new replies.

Preferably I wish they were marked as read as soon as i interact with them in any way. (Vote, click or reply)

I am using Memmy for Lemmy 0.5.1 on a fully updated iPhone 13.

It crashes when opened. Deleted the App Store version, reinstalled- same thing. Tried the test version, same thing.

Hello. I don’t really know where am I supposed to propose these kind of feedback, but here we go.

Did Memmy devs consider the option of searching within a community, with for instance with a sticky search bar at the top when a community is open?

Also, will it be possible to see the profile bio while opening one?

I’ve seen this recently and have been wondering. My guess was that I’ve upvoted this user three other times but that’s probably way off.

Lemmy is growing daily, which is awesome! But it would be nice to be able to see new content coming in, but filter certain communities and users at the same time.

I see comments where people say “just use subscribed”, and that’s fine, but I’d like to see what’s new, filtering things I know I don’t want to see.

For example, I see city communities becoming very active, good for them! I know I will never be interested in let’s say a particular city’s community. I’d like to block it and continue seeing the rest of all the new stuff.

Similarly, the same is true for some users. It would also be nice if the keyword and instance filters would be hidden.

Thus I propose a new feed view “All (filtered)”.

I was really distraught over the whole Reddit Spez-gate meltdown, and Memmy has been like a breath of fresh air.

Since the last update, half of the times I open the app I see All posts but in my preferences I have set Subscribed. The rest of the times it woks fine.

I want to thanks one more time to the developers who are making this great app 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I really love it!

Reporting a small bug I saw this morning with a comment toggle. The full text did not show up when I expanded the link.

If you highlight text, then click on Italics or Bold, it works great, adding the asterisks at both ends of the highlighted text.

However, if you just click on Italics without highlighting text, it spits out two asterisks but does not move the cursor between them, which is required to actually make the text you type properly italicized.

I think it would make more sense to put the cursor in between the markup when no txt has been highlighted.

It would be great if we could change the default sort option on our feed. The current default is set to All Communities and Hot Posts.

When I first open Memmy, I prefer to look at the top posts from the last 24hrs in my subscribed communities. I almost never purposefully scroll through all communities, unless I’m looking for something new to subscribe to.

TITLE, had the same issue with WEFWEF so I think it might be a lemmy thing but suddenly I can’t use reader view on any links that I open in the app. Anyone else having this?

Cannot post a reply to a photo in my feed, nor can I completely see the error message being returned to rectify matters.

I was just wondering if there's any plans down the road to enable us to watch yt videos directly in the memmy app (I know Apollo had this feature). I think that would be a huge quality of life improvement for video-centric communities, especially if the video player allows circumventing all those ads on mobile yt.

Either way, thank you devs for your amazing work so far! I love Memmy. Feels almost obligatory to add this :)

I noticed strange behavior when editing a comment.

So I was writing a comment and noticed mid-writing that a word was mistyped. I hadn't submitted the comment yet and I do have autocorrect disabled. I corrected the word using the auto-suggestion and it got changed. I finished my comment and submitted it but....the word I had changed was mistyped again!

I re-opened my comment, changed the word back and then went to the end of that comment to add another paragraph. After sending, the mistyped word was back again!

And so I reopened the comment a second time to edit it again, for the third time :3

Something is up with the comment editor and the submittal process.

I’ve been loving Memmy so far, but recent versions have brought the Brazilian Portuguese translation and my app has automatically changed to that. However I cannot find a way to revert it back to English!

I’ve tried looking in the app settings and also on the iPhone settings app, but no luck. My account on Lemmy is set to English, but my phone language is set to Brazilian Portuguese. I’m using the App Store version.

As for the reason I prefer English: 100% of the content I see here is in English, so having the UI in a different language makes my head have to constantly switch between both which can get tiring. Not to mention there’s a ton of overflowing text issues as it’s understandably not been tested as much.

Any thoughts about being to hide username on posts? On compact view they’re more prominent than the community name. It feels off from a design/usability stand point.

Request to add option, besides block user, to block community when pressing the 3 dots on feed

My feed has been flooded with posts about the Sync app released for Android, with a lot of hype but also some complaints regarding pricing, ads, privacy, etc.

This made me really appreciate Memmy, with which I have had no issues so far, and am impressed with how clean and easy it has been to use despite being new.

So that’s all, just a huge thank you.

Is there an easy way to search within a community from the community itself? (Similar to how Apollo had a search box at the top of the community post list)

I couldn’t see it unless I completely overlooked something.

Something I’ve been meaning to post about, it seems in the app you can’t click on !community@instance.name and be taken there.

For example !linuxscripts@lemmy.zip is not clickable in the app but it is clickable through a regular browser. Is there a way to add this functionality to Memmy?
