Am I the only one wanting the Windows Phone back? I remember my Nokia Lumia which I absolutely loved. I have thought for many years that Microsoft was never to catch up on the phone industry.

However, now that I saw the Pixel’s assistant with Bard, I realized that Microsoft potentially has a huge opportunity with the OpenAI partnership. I hate Android, and I am tired of iOS. Can Microsoft bring something for people like me now?

Me: Set brightness to max.

Copilot: *Web-based explanation on how to increase brightness*

Me: No, like can't you do that for me? I thought the entire point of the Microsoft copilot feature was to give written commands to the system to do basic tasks. Is this just bing? In that case, I'd rather open the browser version.

Copilot: My mistake, I can’t give a response to that right now. Let’s try a different topic.

I mean, is Copilot just Bing integrated into a fancy side panel? I read about it being like Alexa. Alexa can play music, control your smart home devices, etc. I thought Copilot would do the same for my laptop.

Can someone please explain?

I checked for update on my computer, but it does not appear to be available yet, is there a window of when the update might become available?

Microsoft said themselves that the update arrives September 26th

Hey,

Never thought I'd say this, but I really enjoy the new and improved Bing search. I've been using google since it's inception, and this new Bing really reminds me of the start of search engines - when searching was fast and accurate.

Over time, both duckduckgo (something else I've used) and google started giving worse and worse results, to the point where I had to browse to the 3rd or 4th page for my needed results, honestly I was thinking that this was just a problem of the internet getting mature and that we'll never get that golden age back, but I've never been more happy to say that I was wrong. With bing, I consistently get served exactly what I need in the first place, the stuff I used to find deep in other pages.Amazing!

Not to mention the sick Chat-GPT integration, which, besides definitely being the most accurate prediction model in my experience, but also has references in answers for further research! Just Amazing!

I have to give credit where credit is due, and wow, Microsoft nailed it this time! I just hope this isn't some temporary measure for attracting users!

And I wonder, am i just lucky, or did someone else have the same experience as me?

Many many years ago I lost my two old mails I used. I had a different number back then.

I have tried to fill out the ''form'' they ask you to fill, but I can't remember what mails I sent, if I sent any at all. But for example my facebook was linked to it etc, but they still don't believe me.

I have tried to call them via phone, and they say they can't help. These are 2 very old emails.

Anyone else here with a similar experience, and if you got it back how.

Windows has been losing market share to MacOS and ChromeOS over the years. They went from being in the 90s to being in the 60s. And I think it's mainly because of the 'ecosystem' that Apple users can enjoy. I think they need to re-launch the Windows Phone (maybe re-branded as Surface Phone this time) if they are serious about Windows and want it to be the most popular desktop OS for as long as possible. They have WSA now which mostly solves the apps problem. Now they just need to get the Play Store to work on Windows, optimize the UI for touch, and they can re-launch the Windows Phone with Windows 12.

I got a email warning me about a suspicious login attempt from Russia. I didn't click anything in the email but. I went on my account to verify if there were truly any attempts.

20-30 attempts at varying times through all of yesterday from places like Russia, Mexico and other countries. Obviously the same person masking their IP.

I changed my password, enables two step verification and download Microsofts Authenticator app.

Am I safe yet lol?

Currently, WNS works only for Windows UWP apps installed from Windows Store.

In WWDC 2023, Apple added Web Push with notifications working like native apps, once the web app has been added to the dock. This will be released soon in macOS Sonoma.

Many small development teams have limited bandwidth to create performant apps that works on multiple platforms.

Adding WNS on Edge for Windows ensures:

  1. Customers will not miss out on transactional notifications even after the browser window is inactive, or process terminated, improving their user experience significantly
  2. Teams can develop their apps more efficiently by just using Web Push instead of creating Windows UWP apps simply to access WNS
  3. Customers can also use Web Apps without the battery drain of background browser processes

I am certain many small development teams would benefit from this addition, and hope this could be expedited.

Thank you.

So, honestly, mspaint is pretty important to me because I use it a lot for studying without the need of using paper when I'm on the computer. That said: what the hell was that last update? I don't know when that update was, but I noticed it today when I opened mspaint and the select tool is all messy, there are apparently new hotkeys THAT WORK WHILE TYPING TEXT.

First complaint: Translated hotkeys are completely uncalled for.

If I press ctrl+a on ANY program, I expect it to select all, not to >AT
