I know when it comes to privacy focused browsers that it is a good idea to leave the settings as they are and not add a bunch of additional extensions. Since I recently, just a day ago, lost faith in Librewolf due to them going all political my obvious choice was to replace LW with the Mullvad browser, the thing is I'm not planning on using their VPN only using it as a hardened Firefox kind of thing.

This is what I did:

0. Removed the Mullvad extension since I will not be using a VPN.

1. Changed to the dark theme which was available.

2. Change the New tabs which had the Mullvad logo and a message saying "Developed in collaboration between the Tor Project" to Blank Page, all dark that is due to the dark theme. Same for Homepage and new windows.

3. Added some bookmarks.

Will this compromise anything? Is there a use case or some protection feature in the Mullvad extension or is it strictly only if your using a VPN and if so is it safe to remove it??

I have not touched anything else and everything in uBlock Origin and in NoScript is still in the default settings as Mullvad ships the browser.

I know it's a work in progress. I've read all about the recent bugs and fixes with the app for Windows 11 in addition to other things to do to fix broken network connectivity that may happen.

Question: anyone experience issues or deal with this issue on latest Windows 11 Pro 23h2 from February related to the enabled feature AutoDoH and DDR (Discovery of dynamic resolver) with nofallback causing issues to bootlean and make stick the DNS for Mullvad when activating the VPN?

I'm getting a leak with all network adapters and internet internet config said to automatic with nothing manual. Cloudflare still staying active when running DNS leak tests showing both cloudflare and m247 or whatever Mullvad DNS server being used. I've tried everything from clean reinstall of all Network adapters and chipsets to no avail.

Other idea I had was to add one of the Mullvads dns filters I want to use to the registries WellknownDoHDNSServers key, which I tried and makes it stick but still cloudflare lingering in there as well even after deleting that reg key. Happening both in Chrome and edge, with and without secure DNS enabled which is odd.

Question 2: with hyper-v and WSL on the Windows system, not necessarily actively using docker or visualization currently, but anyone seeing issues where it breaks all connectivity following disconnect or Auto disconnect and reconnect upon rebooting the system with lockdown enabled? I'm getting unilateral breakage many times when this occurs, And it sets the virtual adapter switch the primary with its own 192.168.1.x subnet all of a sudden instead of 172 or 169 that it is typically in, conflicting with other system and VLAN components within the 192.168 subnet.

Also, I've also noticed that when installing the VPN it literally removes the visibility of the hyper-v vethernet switches in networking and adapters which should not occur. I mean I can find it another way through admin tools I got and it shows under ipconfig as well but pretty sure this may be a bug, hoping to hear others experience.

[SOLVED] Currently I'm facing an issue with Mullvad VPN where is trying to reconnect to a VPN service indefinitely, I don't understand why but I think it may be because something is interrupting the connection. Should I adjust some configuration to make it work? Last time I manage to connect it was at night and I just restarted my PC for another thing not related to Mullvad VPN.

Update:

I manage to look at my Firewall, also in my Device Manager there was some things about Cloudflare WARP that may have been causing the issue. I uninstalled both Cloudflare WARP and Mullvad VPN and installed Mullvad VPN again and it's working

Currently in China and trying to use my MT3000 to connect to Mullvad. Imported the WireGuard Client configs for a bunch of locations (US, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand) before I arrived.

Apart from Indonesia, I can't get any other location to connect and Indo is very, very slow. Using my phone (connected to the same Wifi network) it seems to connect to almost any server without issues.

Any tips?

I’m running QEMU/KVM for virtual machines on Fedora Silverblue and using Mullvad VPN. The issue I’m facing is that when “Local Network Sharing” is disabled in Mullvad, my VMs have no network access. However, once I enable that setting, they regain access.

I want my VMs to have network access without enabling local network sharing, and I want all traffic from the VMs to be routed through the VPN. The reason I want local network sharing disabled on my host is that I don’t want other devices on the network to see my computer.

Does anyone know why this happens or how to configure it properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I installed the 2025.3 version on my Windows 11 machine and had a lot of problems with it (there were multiple post about it a few weeks ago). Was this ever fixed? I would like to update to the latest version but the bugs with the 2025.3 version made it nearly unusable.

I would like to get started with using Mullvad (never used a VPN before), so I generated an account #, and am getting this "Please try again later" message when I tried to log in to pay for the service. I created a new account # but the result is still the same when trying to log in. I tried this on both Safari & Firefox browsers. Any thoughts?

It's always been PERFECT, now, no matter what I do in the settings, no matter what connection i select, I can't download above 300kb/s and my local network is completely unavailable, again, no matter what settings I change, I have it allowed. Same exact system same exact set up that I literally used mullvad on daily for years.

I log in and it gives me the options "BUY MORE TIME" or cancel, no option to select a connection, despite it showing "30 days remaining" at the top. I have to log out and log back in (usually only once) to even get to select a connection.

My Mullvad randomly disconnected whenever I used it on WiFi, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and now it gave me a new account number. I have 83 days left in my life old account, is there any way I can recover this? It’s asking me to add new time on it.

Whenever I log in to turn in assignments it fails to load, while I am aware there is some networking technology that halts my connection but I really do not like to shut off connection, anyway to find a work around?

I want everybody to discuss here, I even ask the community moderators to contact the developers at Mullvad and give us a good response on this, As this situation is concerning a lot of folks privacy who use the Firefox browser.

So what's up?

As ya'll might have heard through news, Firefox has changed it's ToS and is turning into an evil who's gon' collect so much personal info and bluh bluh.

Two of the greatest/well known Firefox forks in terms of privacy are Mullvad & Librewolf.

However I just noticed that the team behind Librewolf are saying on their Github that they are a small team and are not ready to mess with Firefox new changes.

How about the Mullvad browser?

Is Mullvad browser going to protect me against the new Firefox policy?

I hope I’m not the only one who thinks Mullvad VPN needs to add support for more obfuscation methods. At my school, they block all built-in (in the Mullvad client) methods. To me, this means they need to add more or better methods. I want to know what other people have to say about this because you can’t connect to Mullvad at coffee shops or school, which are both big reasons for buying a VPN.

Please tell me your thoughts on this.

I have Multihop enabled on my computer. I tried to do a traceroute, but the entry node does not appear on the route. After my router, it's the exit node. Is there a way to test whether or not Multihop is actually working?

Under Mullvad's VPN settings on iOS, I have added my PiHole IP as my custom DNS (under Use custom DNS server.)

This kills my internet access on my phone.

What is odd, is that on my mac, I have configured the exact setting to include my PiHole IP and I have no issue accessing the web when Mullvad is engaged.

Why is my phone losing internet access, but not my mac?

i'm looking for your advice, maybe anyone has some helpful input on the following issues.

• macOS Sequoia
• iOS 18.3.1
• Router Portforwarding is possible if needed

After i switched from Nord VPN to Mullvad i'm having some issues.

1. Mullvad seems to block the entire Internet connection when it's disconnected, tried a lot, nothing works. Kill Switch is off. I want to be able to disconnect entirely from VPN to use Plex Server. Only when i uninstall Mullvad entirely and reboot my internet connection works without VPN.

2. Plex Server doesn't work with Mullvad for me. Tried split tunneling. I don't know if that's even possible to use Mullvad with fully working Plex Media Server?

3. on iOS i keep loosing VPN connection with Mullvad very often. It reconnects again and again. Annoying but not the worst of these issues.

I would love to use mullvad since i think its a great VPN from what i know about their philosophy but its really annoying when i compare it to Nord VPN at the moment.

My question:

Is any of these issues fixable? I didn't found a solution yet. Especially the always-on-kill-switch is something i would want to fix.

And are these issues in any way related to my new IPv4 Address i got from my ISP? I requested that, before that i had IPv6. I think now it's something called Dual-Stack.

Hi, I grabbed the ip-address the mullvad website gives me for dns (dot) mullvad (dot) net, which at the time of writing is 194 (dot) 242 (dot) 2 (dot) 2.

If I put that ip-address into my pi-hole's custom DNS server (IPv4), it can't resolve any website names. I'm trying to use it to get the warning about DNS leaks away from the Mullvad browser extension, so currently I'm just using the comodo DNS pi-hole gives me.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi, does anyone experience the same? Have it as Adblocker on my Pixel private DNS, more or less became unusable, as multiple pages take 30 seconds and more to load.

tried importing the password file from firefox browser passwords.csv file, imported : 0 says

-and no interface for saving passwords for the websites

Any info on that please?
