Just updated my MacOS to Sequoia and I noticed the messenger doesn't work with Mulvad v 2024.5, is this just me or a known problem?

Why can comcast tell what site I want to go to when using Mulvad? Catbox.moe shows up as blocked in the xfinity app everytime I try to connect via my wifi connection with Mulvad on. It works fine when I use mobile data instead, so theres no other factors blocking it. I thought by using Mulvad the isp wouldnt know what sites im going to?

Hello, I want to share my experience so that you don’t make the same mistake and have to deal with the same issue. If you purchase Mullvad through the App Store (iOS), make sure to backup your account number, because if for any reason you erase or change your phone, you will lose your account (I’m not sure if uninstalling and reinstalling the app has the same effect, but it just happened to me).

A week ago, I purchased a subscription through the App Store, erased my iPhone while updating it, and now I can’t recover my account. When contacting Mullvad support, they told me to reach out to Apple for a refund, but Apple says it’s a non-refundable purchase. Then Mullvad says there’s no way to recover it, as they don’t have any information to help me with this (which is strange, but if true, I see it as a good thing for privacy reasons).

Ultimately, I believe the best option is to purchase through the website, as they do provide support in case you lose your account number.

Just updated my phone to the latest software version and now I can’t connect to any server (anywhere).

Anyone else experiencing this? Any fix on the way?

Edit:

• Based in the US. No issues about censorship.
• Turned off Quantum tunnel: Doesn’t work.
• I turned off private network and it still won’t connect.
• I deleted the wireguard profile under VPN settings and still won’t connect.
• Turned my phone on/off still doesn’t work.
• I’ll try to delete the app and download again and see if that works.

Update:

I deleted the app and deleted the Mullvad VPN profile under VPN and device management, reinstalled everything and it works.

Got a new M3 Macbook and added it as a device and all browsers work for about 5 minutes after installing the Mullvad app and connecting to a server and then every page stops loading. I’ve tried a bunch of servers, enabled IPv6 and tried different settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the app and Firefox multiple times, and tried using a Mullvad config in the Wireguard app, and nothing is working. At this point I’m wondering if my ISP is blocking Mullvad but I’ve never had an issue before. I would love help, I don’t know much about this at all and I’m just going off of other threads in this sub but all of them have had fixes that don’t work for me. Thanks.

Hey folks. I’m new to Mullvad. Just signed up for one month to give it a go.

I am unable to access certain sites since they recognize the IP address when using Mullvad. I want to be able to access these sites and I thought that using the IP override would help with that. I contacted support and they provided me with a json file. I am still unable to access said sites. Am I wrong in thinking that IP override will help me access sites that don’t like VPNs?

I’m relatively new to this type of stuff. Please be gentle and ELI5.

I don't care where my VPN sets me up, I just want to make sure I'm going to have a solid connection. I notice from the website it charges in Euros which through me off for a second. Currently using NordVPN and looking for a cheaper monthly alternative.

My router doesn't support DoH ip addresses like the ones listed on the mullvad dns setup guide. I need the TLS ip addresses to use mullvad on my router. Anyone can share those?

Woke up, Wireguard not working anymore (on Linux using config files). Went to Mullvad Dashboard, all devices gone.

I added devices again via API, gone again after 30 minutes.

What the hell is happening?

Moreover, my phone now always prioritizes mobile data over an established WiFi connection, which it obviously prioritized prior to updating to iOS18. Now, except using airplane mode, my iPhone 15PM just always uses the mobile data connection.

Anyone seen something like that? Any suggestions for fixes? I tried logging out of Mullvad VPN, closing the app, deleting the VPN setting’s, deleting the device from the laptop. Then logging back in, establishing new settings, using the phone as a new device with a new name for Mullvad. Didn’t work. Turning off and back on of the phone also didn’t work. No update for Mullvad available. Would be happy for any and every suggestion. Sucks cause I’m in China and am relying on the VPN connection.

So MacOS 15 is officially live and I decided to upgrade only to find that Mullvad has not yet been updated to support it. Many services including iMessage and Facetime don't connect anymore. If you're like me and already upgraded - Mullvad still works via the Wireguard app... so you can use that while we wait for a beta update that fixes the official app. You can follow the issue on Github for updates.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong vocabulary, but I have a desktop and a laptop. I need to access that laptop anywhere with windows remote desktop but the problem is that I need to do so while out of network.

I don't wanna use port forwarding, so I thought using a VPN would be a better option. How would I set this up?

I've been noticing for a week now a huge drop in the vpn speed. Without VPN my internet speed is around 800 Mbps and when connected to servers in switzerland it used to be around 300-400 mbps, but now is always around 10 Mbps - a huge drop, this is terrible!

Anyone else with the same problem?

For the past 1-2 months I've been having issues with Mullvad VPN where all of a sudden I'm disconnected from the internet. Mullvad VPN tries to reconnect and usually fails. The only thing I can do at that point is to reboot my computer, and then everything works like before.

It used to work flawlessly but now I feel like I can't rely on my internet like before.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Is anyone else getting captchas constantly? Anytime I do a google search, I get hit with 10 captcha prompts. Browsing the internet is almost impossible unless I turn off mullvad.

Long time user Mullvad. But just noticed under 'report a problem' at end of settings screen, there is 'Apps logs'. If you click on that it brings up the logs of everything you've been doing on the internet. Is that secure or could Mullvad team see it?

I automatically wipe cookies upon closing up my browser. Having to log-in every time I want to see a particular post or click on a Reddit link has become quite a hassle.

The London servers serve me very well for many websites but alas Reddit appears to block this one without login.

Can you recommend any Mullvad servers not yet prevented by Reddit?

I'm not a networking professional, so please be patient if I don't phrase things correctly. I recently tried to move from ExpressVPN to Mullvad. I run the VPN on my desktop computer, not my router. The desktop also runs a simple Jellyfin server on the public IP, with a port forwarded through the router. This always worked fine with ExpressVPN, but Mullvad seems incompatible. Am I overlooking something simple, or is it just a quirk of Mullvad?

Hi,

After hesitating for a while, I eventually decided to give Mullvad VPN a try, since it is praised by pretty much every user.

I made an account and got credit for a month, to try it out. For now I only use it on mobile, with Mull Browser, and after just a day, I can't say this is a smooth experience. 2oo3 times I can't log in on reddit, or I get sooo many captcha, and many "mainstream" websites just notify my that they weren't able to open the page for me.

Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Any setting I should adjust? It does not feel like this is an issue with Mullvad VPN, but more like a VPN-related issue.

I was very excited about this important step toward a more private web activity, so I'd really like this to work.

Hello, I'm sorry if this is not the right place to ask this question but I am unsure where to post it elsewhere.

I'm using Mullvad VPN on Ubuntu 24.04, and I'm trying to spin up a VM with internet. However when the VPN is turned on, the VM does not receive any internet. It does connect to a network.

I've been trying to get this to work for some time now, but I'm unsure on how to proceed. Does anyone here know how to solve this problem?

Okay, real talk.

There where just a pretty big outage, not the first and wont be the last. And I get that, we all get that, infrastructure is going to fail every once in a while.

But what really grind my gears is the total absence of transparency. There is a blog, there are social media accounts, but nowhere is there a mention, or even an indication that something is wrong, and there almost never are.

I don't expect real time updates, but after something like this, just doing a post saying what happened and what was done to solve it feel like kind of a basic thing.

This is a company that work with privacy and needs a lot of trust to be used, and i don't really see how anyone can keep trusting a company that wont relay stuff like this.

Sorry about the rant.
