I've been noticing thisf or the past few months: reddit especially though other sites as well, become really slow via the VPN during mornings EST.

Is it just me (though I've experienced this in multiple timezones. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi! This is not VPN related but I couldn't find another subreddit for this. I installed the browser according to this guide (https://(mullvad).net/en/help/install-mullvad-browser#linux) on my linux mint xfce. The repository method didn't work

   E: Unable to locate package mullvad-browser

So I used the file method and it works. It's just that when I run sudo apt update it returns the following

   Err:6 https://repository.(mullvad).net/deb/stable wilma Release 
   404  Not Found [IP:45.149.104.1443]

   E: The repository 'https://repository.(mullvad).net/deb/stable wilma Release' does not have a Release file.
   N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.

I deleted it and done it a second time and it's the same. I verified its signature according to this guide (https://(mullvad).net/en/help/verifying-mullvad-browser-signature) and it's alright.

My internet is working fine when not connected to it on my Mac, but when Mullvad is connected, the internet doesn't work. Seems to work if I have IPV6 enabled, what exactly is the difference between IPV4 and ipv6?

As mentioned in the title, I'm having trouble connecting to my Mullvad account. I keep getting the error message "Please try again later," and I'm not sure what's causing it, but it's quite frustrating. I'm trying to log in to renew my subscription, but it just won't let me.

I've tried accessing my account on multiple devices (phone, Mac, and PC), but nothing seems to work. I've also attempted a few troubleshooting steps like disabling my DNS, using private browsing (both on phone and computer), disabling browser DNS, and even connecting via the Mullvad browser, but still no luck.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or know how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe I'm just used to vanilla Firefox starting up in mere milliseconds, but it seems Mullvad's browser takes a couple seconds to get up and running? This some cost-of-privacy sort of thing or? Only thing I've changed since install was disabling "Always use private browsing mode"

Sorry English is not my first language.

How come when i enable lockdown mode and i quit the app, mullvad can still block me from using internet while it's supposed to be turned off ? I'm interested in understanding the technical concept behind it.

Also is it normal that mullvad doesnt configure windows vpn settings or ask for firewall permission and yet still works just fine ?

Lately Google search brings captchas which are really annoying (around minimum 10)

YT asks to Sign in to view videos When Mullvad VPN is on. I am connected to German servers.

Without VPN, I have no issues.

Any chances to over come?

I have to frequently access some websites from India (gov websites mostly) that are not accesible outside of India. I know mullvadvpn doesn't have any any servers in India so it won't be straightforward. Is there any work around. Like some sort of reverse proxy for vpn? I am new to VPNs so please excuse me If I don't make much sense.

Not really complaining, just sharing... I know the walls are closing in on (semi-) private web browsing.

I've noticed a lot of Mullvad IPs blocked in the last week or two, for old.reddit (won't allow login, states credentials are invalid) and DailyMail (won't load page).

edit: also MSN news, WSJ news... I either have to raw dog the internet, or go without. Ah well, life on the margins, here I come.

Windows 11 has a feature called Smartapp control which verifies the signatures of various software that you install on the computer prior to installing it. Mullvad gets blocked. Has anyone else had this issue before?

This is basically what smart app does: Smart App Control knows that what you're using is safe but isn't able to make a confident prediction about the safety of the other file your app opened so it attempted to verify the publisher of that file by checking its signature. The file isn’t properly signed so Smart App Control has blocked it.
