Gigantic billboards in midtown Manhattan, all over the subway, etc. seems kind of odd for a vpn service

Danish banks have implemented significant restrictions on how Danish kroner (DKK) used outside Denmark can be repatriated back into Denmark.

Due to these circumstances, which are unfortunately beyond Mullvad’s control, Mullvad will no longer be able to accept DKK from its customers. We will continue to credit DKK received until the end of the month, but considering postal delays, it is best to stop sending it immediately.

Linux mint + Mullvad vpn + Mullvad browser.

In love with this setup! Finally got the Mullvad subscription and I am so excited.

How can it get more hardcore? Maybe using tails?

What’s your setup? I would love to see how well protected you guys are.

Cheers,

I've used three different VPNs, now using Mullvad, still didn't work.

It's a website that I needed to log in with my Google account. As soon as I "Continued with Google," the website redirected me to these following two addresses:

https://preview.redd.it/lpbl1n51052d1.png?width=962&format=png&auto=webp&s=4a13ec6a22db5d3fd213a8c3458d6c95b9dcad52

And then, that VPN Block Page appeared, telling me to turn off VPN. And yes, as long as I keep VPN off, I can get on that website no problem.

I always cleared data(caches, cookies, blocked address usage) from Google Chrome each time before I opened this website. And now I'm using Firefox, private window(Incognito), still doesn't work.

🙏Should I try other VPNs or is there another way around it? Like router? Proxy? I'm basically tech illiterate.

The GUI downloaded from AUR just keeps connecting forever. I have the latest version installed and the daemon is working properly, I also have time on my account. I followed the manual instructions on Mullvad Arch wiki page and can't establish a connection using WireGuard. When using wg-quick it just keeps connecting forever blocking my internet connection just like the GUI, and when using NetworkManager I get response saying a connection has been successfully added and enabled (it's even listed as active in "nmcli connection show --active" 's output right beside my wired connection) but I can't ping any website and my internet just doesn't work until I remove the connection. My whole system is up to date, along with all yay packages, I've also tried switching from wired connection to Wi-Fi. Connecting from Mullvad CLI doesn't work either, even using OpenVPN over TCP. What am I doing wrong?

I heard mixed reviews about it?

I currently use TorGuard and works fine, however I wanna give Mullvad a try.

I went through the framework and it seems purely like marketing BS to me. The only good thing I can see is that the process is automated and does not requires end user to make any changes (you still need to trust that DAITA works as intended).

Either way why should I trust/rely on DAITA, if I can simply open random playlist on YouTube with videos in the background? Or simply start downloading random Linux ISO's and limit the download speed. Or damn even just listening to some random online radio like PoolsideFM.

Like If you are really worried about there are so many ways to mess the traffic analysis.

Or Am I wrong?

I received an email a few minutes ago from Microsoft stating "unusual sign in" on my account coming from Sweden. I use a password manager and have a rather complicated password used for the account so I'm wondering if any of the Mullvad servers have ever been hacked or if that's even possible?

Sorry ahead of time if the questions are super basic - this is the first time I am buying/using my own VPN and the first time using Mullvad.. I have tried to do my reading and learn on the Mullvad site but am still a little confused. Thanks in advance!

I'm heading to China for 7 weeks. I am bringing 2 devices with me - the Android phone I am using right now in North America & my iPad and I'm wondering:

  1. I read that Mullvad functionality differs region by region - Could y'all advise on if right now, Mullvad will work in the region/cities of Chengdu, Chongqing, Tibet and Yunnan (Lijiang, Kunming, Dali, Xishuangbanna)?
  2. Will I require any other apps to run Mullvad in China or do I just need the Mullvad app on my phone and iPad?
    • Do I only need 1 subscription if I am looking to have VPN access on my phone and iPad or will I need to buy two 2-month subscriptions?
  3. If upon landing, I am buying a SIM from Unicom or China Telecom to use on my phone (call + data plan), will that cause issues with me using Mullvad VPN? (I have read that people say don't use local SIM... but then where are they getting data to access the web from?)
    • Some background: My phone is super old so it doesn't have e-sim capabilities. I am staying with Chinese friends at each of the cities (above) I am visiting so I will be using their WIFI presumably when I am at their homes and have Mullvad turned on)

If you guys can see any other issues/red flags I should know of, please also advise. Thank you!

I use Mullvad VPN on Android phone. In VPN setting there is DNS content blocker, I have ads and trackers enabled and just wonder if this is gonna block all ads and trackers in my all apps? Can I trust it and this is work well in background ? In Duck Duck GO there is cool feature called "App Tracking Protection" and it blocks all trackers in my all apps and shows me how many trackers is in specific app and how many is blocked. Unfortunately App Tracking Protection in Duck Duck GO does not work if Mullvad VPN is on.

I have two accounts on my Mac, one for me and one for my partner. Sometimes I forget to switch the VPN off and then her account is connected to the VPN (and she doesn't know how to turn it off etc.).

It's a problem as she will google something and be in the wrong country, can't watch her streaming shows, etc.

Is there a way to association VPN app for Mac to just one user account?

Some sites won't allow a connection with a VPN active. Is there a way to make these sites think there's no VPN being used even though there is?

Recently got fed up with Windows and decided to flee to the more open source world of the new Ubuntu 24.04. Overall its been great but VPN has been pretty problematic. I ended up switching from Proton to Mull because it has way better Linux support.

My LAN is on a 10.0.0.0/8 subnet and even when I turn on Local Network Sharing in the Mull options, I am not able to access other computers on my LAN when connected. I'm running the newest Linux client: 2024.3.

I contacted support because I couldn't find an easy answer to this and they were great at getting back to me with this https://mullvad.net/en/help/using-mullvad-vpn-app#localnetworksharing (which somehow I totally missed while searching for answers). This totally solves my problem connecting to my LAN but only until Mull disconnects. When it reconnects, I have to run that command again. Since it requires root, it requires me to enter my password each time. And since Mull disconnects every time the computer goes to sleep, I'm now running that command and typing my password a lot.

So my question is: is there anyway for me to add that route permanently or to automatically run the command after I connect?

Thanks in advance!

Hello community,

Since a couple of weeks i'm having this issue and it's getting unbearable.

Mullvad for windows 10 cannot connect to anything. Contacted support and sent the logs, they told me that "there's something blocking mullvad to set the rules with the firewall". Before anyone says anything, no, i dont think the antivirus is the culprit. I've whitelisted it and marked it as an exception. I dont have any other security app or related installed.

How can i see what is preventing mullvad to connect and how did this happened?

I'd like to change my local IP LAN addresses to use 10.x.x.x instead of 192.168.x.x.

I also use mullvad in multiple OpenVPN client connections inside of OpenWRT.

Does anyone know what the 10.x.x.x IP pool range is for their OpenVPN server configuration so I can avoid using the same range in my local network?

I've also emailed support hope they get me that info.

This is a current frustration with Proton VPN, I can either use split tunneling or have a killswitch (even a regular killswitch that doesn't block your internet outside the vpn). I'm looking at switching to Mullvad, but I'd like to confirm whether this is also the case here.

Has this happened to anyone would you recommend using bridges and will i still be secure privacy wise??

If so, how do you do it? I think it might be the 8th Wonder Of The World.

In my experience, it is IMPOSSIBLE to use Instagram with Mullvad on iOS.

I realize the obvious problems with this, but does anyone have good strategy to keep IP reputation at reasonable level?

I'm always fighting captcha, cloudflare challenges, and fraud alerts when using the service
