Mullvad VPN

I googled some answers and non worked. I went to the network and sharing settings and restarted my connection. I made sure that the "lockdown mode" is off. the "kill switch" is always on and i cannot turn it off in the settings.

mullvad is literally preventing me from working on my PC. some sites require me to connect without a VPN to access them, but mullvad literally disables my PC's ability to connect to the internet when mullvad is off.

How do I fix this? please help!

I am sorry if that’s a question that comes up for time to time. I swear I have read the last 10 result from this query and found no satisfying answers.

People everywhere recommend paying only with:

• Crypto
• Cash
• Directly in stores buying cards

But, why? You don’t want that someone knows you are using a VPN? Or Mullvad specifically? Well, you still failed at that. Your ISP know perfectly who you are and that you are trying to connect to a Mullvad server (expect if you do other stuff, like exiting from a Tor node, but I doubt that the majority do this 100% of the times), or by the time you log in to your Bank, Social Media account and what not, they are also able to see you are coming from a Mullvad server.

Maybe, for some reason, you still don’t want you information to be saved on Mullvad server for some reason I am ignoring? (And don’t answer privacy, because as explained above, “anyone” can see you are Using Mullvad) Well, Mullvad keeps log for only 40 days, not indefinitely, and they would need to be forced to hand those data out. That means you have to do something incredibly bad, that police need to track you fast, understand you are using Mullvad, go through legal provider to issue papers saying to Mullvad to hand out your Pagment information, and all of this, within 40 days? The f**k, the day you got Mullvad, coordinated some kind of global terrorist attack? :/

Still, all do these, need to be linked to an account activity anyway. And Mullvad keeps no log related to account ID. Even if all the above happened, police just know that YOU are using Mullvad, that’s it. But what have you done with it? Who knows, Mullvad proved several times (I think 3?) that can’t hand out anything.

And so? I really can’t understand what am I missing? Sure, a part of all the things like “peace of mind” kind of stuff. Any really, tangible, objective reason some one can give to not pay Mullvad with a normal Cresit Card, CC or whatever?

I can't use anything. Google keeps flagging me and making me solve captchas after an hour or so.

Reddit posts a stupid message about network policy.

I can't use GPT, which I use to clarify concepts for studying, as it refuses to log me in or permanently hangs.

I have to keep switching servers and even then it barely works. I sometimes have to try 5-6 different locations before I get something working.

This is beyond frustrating. What can I do? I don't want to expose my IP but I am being blocked everywhere.

I am using MullVAD, but also want to connect to a private VPN Wireguard Server that my friend set up at his location.

Can I add this to MullVAD or do I ahve to use the Wireguard Client?

I've found "relays.json" but changes to this file dont seem to ahve any effect

I'm curious if Lockdown Mode takes effect prior to login. I'm also looking to create a singular exception for one application and one ip address to ssh into a server on my local network. I'd prefer not to disable this mode each time or to leave it disabled for all applications. TIA.

i was kinda dumb, stored my account on a notepad in my c drive. fast forward a few weeks later, my ssd completely shit itself. all my data was lost, other than an external hard drive i keep my work on.

i was just wondering if i’m completely out of luck, or if there’s a possibility i could email support and get it back? i’m almost certain it’s gone forever, i just thought i should ask before buying another 3 months.

Mullvad VPN's connection in China is getting very terrible tonight. I've been switching servers around the globe all the night trying to have a good connection. Are there any advice to get a good internet connection to blocked sites in China? Is it because CCP's censorship department is working overload tonight?

I seriously doubt any significant DDOS attack could be done from mullvad accounts. You'd need thousands of accounts. Far more efficient to use botnets.

Maybe they're testing the waters to be like twitter where you can't see shlt anymore without an account.

Why do I care about this? Many subs have a minimum karma/age requirement and will quietly delete your comments or posts. I often open my comments in a private/incog window to see if they got nukes. Yeah, it's minor, but it is annoying. /rant

Debian 11 w 2024.1 was working perfectly, then upgrade to Debian 12 , still the 2024.1 was working but showing " upgrade required"... upgraded to 2024.2 following the normal procedure, all went well but on reboot now 2024 refuses to connect with the following error:(see below)

I keep getting browser updates but some broken things ain't being fixed.

google popups persist. I have now disabled google in u-block as a temporary fix.

Video/audio "auto-run" set to "Block video and Sound" still ignored. YT videos, for one. Can't find a way to stop that yet.

Hey there mullvad community! WG is currently blocked in country I live, well as OVPN protocol.

There is no way to use any VPN based on this include mullvad, I know there is TCP over UDP but this give super high ping and low as turtle speed.

SSH or shadow-socks is based on TCP and speed is not impressive with tons of geeks tasks.

I’m asking if there is any road map for custom protocol like Express Lightway (which is working on non-blocked nodes) or any other obfuscation that keep transmit data over UDP?

I've created and tested countless WG servers and profiles. They work well in some regards but way too many websites and apps don't function as intended. This led me to give up and create an OpenVPN profile and go that route instead. It seems to be working for most of what I need but ads are no longer blocked system-wide. What can I do? TIA!

I used Mullvad a while back with no issue but now while trying to set it up again I'm running into a roadblock. I renewed my account and downloaded the VPN and browser. I get this message no matter what website I try to visit.

I've been trying to download the latest version (2024.2) for a couple days, and every time I do, it downloads about 7-10 MB, then speeds drop to a couple kB/s for a minute before the download fails. I've had no other speed or connection issues. What gives?

So one major point of keeping yourself anonymous when on VPN is NEVER login to any service that identifies you while your connected to a VPN where you want to stay private. This is easier to do on a Windows device but on Android where the OS is connected to your Google account, is there any ways to sandbox the VPN to one app like 1 browser? And to stop that browser from connecting when VPN is not activated?

On my phone with Mullvad VPN on I cant login to Reddit. I get this error: "Invalid username or password". I know my password is correct. When disabling Mullvad VPN it works fine to login. Anyone else experincing the same? Why does Reddit have problem using Mullvad VPN to login?

I do not have much knowledge when it comes to how networking works on Linux.

I installed the official Mullvad client, and everything worked fine. Then I followed the wireguard guide on mullvad website, meaning I installed wireguard-tools, and followed the steps (easy-wireguard-mullvad-setup-linux)

I connected with wg-quick, disconnected. And it stopped working.

Uninstalled wireguard-tools, removed /etc/wireguard, still the same issue.

Rebooting my machine does nothing.

No idea what could be f_ed up, no idea what to look for, what config files I should or should not change.

I would be very thankful, for any help.
