!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

I am looking for the longest (in terms of hours) and most difficult (in terms of complexity).

I’ve played a lot of Final Fantasy, Diablo Series, WoW, Everquest 1 and 2, Skyrim, Divinity Original Sin: 2, etc…

Older gameplay styles are preferred, but not a requirement.

So, what’s the hardest shit out there?

If I cut a thing in two, are the two pieces together exactly the same size as the original?

Or to rephrase it: does a knife/scissors/etc just split something or does it remove something?

I don't speak Chinese so it's a little bit confusing to see this pop up on my feed in GrayJay. Was LeBron James some kind of idol in China?

I lean toward the market feel. It's so much more welcoming and I feel more accomplished lol. The open air feels more inviting and just bustling in the throng of people is fun.

Supermarkets in Malawi 🇲🇼 are relatively small. The staff is not that motivated which is understandable. It breaks my heart how they have to be so mechanical for hours.

Not to say vendors are free of worries and disadvantages though.

I would just love to here a news report of it being one of the most watched, but everyone shut it off before Jake fought.

I'm all for it, but what kicked it off?

I have read a few people mention it being an issue on here, but now I am starting to see it myself, blatant bots posting really crappy AI images. I do not want this to turn into Facebook with shrimp Jesus, so I'm just wondering what can be done to prevent bots from polluting the airwaves here. Any ideas, or work being done on this front?

This is territory I thought I would never have to think about but something stinks lately to say the least.

I was looking into the new, probably AI, data center being built in town and noticed it's built by a private equity backed firm. The data center was rejected by the city and has to operate with a standard cooperate building water supply. They said are switching to air cooling only and reducing the compute power to keep power usage the same. This has caused amazon, the alleged operator, to back out. So they are building a giant reduced capacity data center with no operator and apparently still think that's a good idea. My understanding of the private equity bubble is that the firms can hide "under performing" assets because it's all private. From what I read, possibly 3.2 Trillion dollars of it. I feel like this new data center is going on the "under performing" pile.

Title basically says it all. Would it depend if it was the US, Russia or China starting it?

i'll wager, from an armchair mind you, that this is because decrepeit Scrooges see it as a plus that the people from the regions most affected as "lesser people", while also holding on to money and ensuring states militarize to defend that money from increasingly pissed of people.

so TLDR ig racist old dudes appreciating what fascism does for 'em.

this is just an armchair assessment fron me though. why is fossil fuel still being used?

so I want to take a trip. but I do NOT want to go to anywhere in the world that has been taken over by Walmart's and whatnot..

I went to Mexico the last time, was driving around... bam... giant Walmart. why.. why does everything need to look the same, sell the same junk.

is there a list of cities, countries that are still.. good that haven't been visually infected with corporate American trash stores?

Context I brought one of this for Xmas for my girlfriend, I see it has a "mine mode" which would be great to reproduce this game with it so I'm looking for the list of cards to print and add to the pack. It doesn't have to be the specific game but something useful to make a nice 2 for 1. Bonus points for finding one in spanish and saving me the translation.
As said you can also do your suggestions remember is meant to be played in family.

As in casual conversation stuff...

My mom wants to talk to me, but my lexicon in my native language is not very vast lmao

I know people out there who have invested a lot in gold under the belief that in the event of like complete societal collapse or hyperinflation, they could use it for purchasing.

I have the hunch it's a scam, but I haven't learned enough monetary theory, business, or economics to understand why.

Looking at the mess regarding GPU and ram, I start to wonder whether we'd be able to produce enough supra conductors and have enough helium to support quantum computers leaving research lab and being industrialised?

While I doubt quantum computer would be massively produced, I am not sure how much materials are needed for a quantum processor compared to let's say, an MRI to take the most common supra conducting machine

Sorry I don't mean to sounds like I have main character syndrome, that's not my intent.

It doesn't take that much energy and power to run an LLM or an image generator, and sure, it would take a lot with so many users connecting, across so many servers... but there's just no way they're not mining bitcoin. My math might not be mathing but it seems like AI doesn't justify the power use and it seems like everybody's lying.

Someone who knows more about this inform me of your opinions

My feed has been filled with rpg geeks shitting on him. I do not know why. I assume he said something nasty, or did something worse than his usual disgusting foot fetish.

Why do I see Tarantino drama constantly? What triggered it?

several months ago I wrote about leaving floor nursing for moving patients in beds. I also posted it would mean a 20% financial hit.

Turns out the financial hit is 2%. I took the job.

Several of my former colleagues, after seeing me now that I switched jobs cannot hide their disbelief and shock. Some of the things I've heard: "what a waste, you can do more." "You are a RN and you choose to move beds?", "Haven't you worked with us?", "Oh no, don't tell me you're moving beds now." and more.

I've always been very individualistic and never cared much about what others think about me. This new job means less stress and I can sleep better.

But it's not only other RNs who tell me this: doctors as well, very knowledgeable ones.

Am I doing something wrong, when so many people, some of them much smarter than me tell me what I'm doing is stupid?

Going back to my old job doesn't mean going back to my old department, just back to floor nursing.
