A PieFed community for finding song samples!
Sampling is the practise of reusing part of an audio recording for another work. In the last few decades, sampling has become commonplace in pop, hip-hop, and electronic music, with entire subgenres being heavily comprised of samples, such as mashcore, plunderphonics, and future funk.
This community's purpose is to help people find the origins of samples in specific songs through crowdsourcing. Where one person (the post submitter) is unaware of a sample's source, another person may know immediately on first listen where the sample in question is from.

PieFed.ca instance rules are to be followed at all times.

No hateful conduct. No racism, sexism, xenophobia, transphobia, islamophobia, antisemitism, etc. This is also covered by rule 1.

Posts must be accompanied with a link to a track, as well as the general timestamp for when the sample appears. For YouTube submissions, it's generally recommended to share a link with a timestamp, though indicating it in the post body or title is also acceptable.

This is not a TOMT (Tip of My Tongue) community. Posts must include a presentable example of the sample.

This is an English-only community. This is due to moderation resources. French may be supported in the future.

WhoSampled - A corporate platform owned by Spotify in which users can submit samples that have been included in a specific track.

SampleBrainz - An open-source project that grabs data from MusicBrainz, an open database owned and operated by the non-profit MetaBrainz Foundation.

MusicBrainz - An open database dedicated to music information. Music recordings can be linked to other recordings they have sampled from.
