Lemmy is even worse than Reddit at picking up sarcasm hah. Even my local Facebook group is better at it, which is wild
I'm not sure that's true. I observed more sarcasm without the need to flag it (/s) compared to reddit and I like it. My post are often sarcastic (probably a coping mechanism, the world has gone crazy) and I wouldn't be a big fan of flagging them as such: "Hey look, I made a joke. Now laugh and press the upvote!"
I mean it definitely has been my experience that even the most blatant sarcasm and jokes is taken straight here more than even on Reddit. Facebook varies a lot ofc but if granny gets stuff easier than this place, something is off haha
I saw a Lemmy mod mistake an obvious A Modest Proposal reference for a serious call to start eating children.
Either that has happened to more than one people or it was literally me that happened to hah, but on my lemm.ee account (RIP)
