Soo... It's showing both sides as equivalent?
I think it's just saying that it's dumb to call other people's rallies pointless if you yourself have rallies as well. Like either you believe rallies accomplish something or you don't, but you don't get to say that some rallies work and others don't, because regardless of the cause, all rallies have the same purpose (awareness and solidarity for a specific cause, generally).
