The Culture is the absolute best depiction of a utopian science fiction society and nothing else what I've read or seen even comes close.
Does anybody have any recommendations that come close or exceed it? I've also read The Dispossessed which is pretty cool but it's not really the same kind of optimistic utopian vibe as The Culture.

I've had them queued up as books to read. What does Iain Bank's Culture series say about gender?
People have full reproductive control. That includes the ability to change sex at will, to control fertility, to pause pregnancies, even to get pregnant, change sex, and go through pregnancy as a man
Beyond what the other reply said, there are also examples of societies that have 3 genders - for example, the people of Azad in The Player of Games have male, female, and apex (I think they do have the tech to change gonads, but would not use them because their society is turbo-sexist. Also CW for all sorts of gender stuff in the Culture series, it's NOT all sunshines and rainbows for the people outside the Culture itself).

Which is possibly better because you won't have all these horn dogs posting horny on main and such. Everyone will be in normal mode until the orgy period starts for a few days then another month or so of normal.

Neil Gaiman’s short story Change is a good one about that
deeply weird story from a cis man but i'll admit reading it -- and a blog post by a trans woman about it -- made me think more critically about gender

I wish this but about breasts. I have a big gut so I wanna be able to switch back and forth between breasts that are bigger than my gut and no breasts at all.
