The only HP that matters is the last.

My 3.5 AC 20 monk was on his last hit point but as one of the two most competent holder backers still moved to the front

I was looking forward to a dirt nap, but we won

To be fair, 2HP and a cleric with full spell slots is a very different situation to 2HP and nuthin'.

Hey, that's me in Frosthaven!
I do not play tanks.

5 hp left, but I've got 30 AC. What are they going to do? Roll 20s?

Ah, balls.

My 24 AC (w/ Shield) seems to be getting to my DM lol. Multiple "hold person" casters in the last fight lol

Hmm. Do the enemies have a reason to know you've got high ac? Cause that smells of DM metagaming. Of course, only an issue if you feel it's an issue.

First time it's happened, it's plausible for our story line though and their buddies did attempt to hit me the old fashioned way first. No issue currently, plus I'm a gnome so I get advantage on saves against magic. Poor pure fighter got caught twice tho lol

Then yeah, no, that's perfectly fine.

@UnderpantsWeevil they will never roll 20s

The barbarian with relentless rage at 2 health:

I'm sure we could make a graph how less health can translate to better "toughness" through higher AC

tl;dr is it depends on the enemies
