Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that

a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,

b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and

c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.

It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

My take on the Argentinian election, if you're interested:

spoiler

I never ever expected Massa to do this well. I thought he was done for, he's a "super minister" (He is in charge of the economy, basically) in a terrible government that is the one led by Fernandez, after losing the primaries he devauled the Peso which was seen as the sign of complete political suicide. But no, he rose from the ruins and positioned himself first. And he has done so without the explicit help from Cristina, and this is a HUGE factor. She didn't play a role in this. She did called the people that support her (A good solid base 20/25% of voters maybe?) to vote for Fernandez last election and this guaranteed his victory. But this time around, she didn't say a lot, in fact she even tried to distance herself from this current administration. To get 37% of the votes without Cristina's intervention is massive, props to the guy I guess.

Before election day, Massa surprised us with what I now call a "political masterclass". You see, in Argentina (but not in all parts, mainly Buenos Aires), public transport is subsidized by the State. Subsidies of all kinds came under fire during this election cycle, so a few days ago he announced a special program in which people could "voluntarily" renounce to transport subsidies and they would have to pay the full fee for the train or bus ride, adjusted with inflation. The ticket cost skyrockets, I pay my bus ride around 63$ Pesos, without any subsidies it goes up to 700$ Pesos. But it doesn't stop there, around last monday they made the machines in which you apply your card to pay for the ride show how much credit you have left AND the full value of the ride without any subsidies. On every screen that announces the train arrival times in the stations, they made them show the difference in cost with the "Massa Fee" compared to "Bullrich Fee" and "Milei Fee", both of which wanted to get rid of subsidies to public transportation. This is politics, this is how you play, dirty but direct. Sure it's using government agencies to promote Massa's campaign but it struck fear into the general population, made them realize that perhaps voting for these two ghouls isn't all that good after all. This must have played a role in a somewhat significant number of voters changing their vote in the very last minute in favor of Massa.

Juntos por el Cambio, your standard neoliberals mixed with some fash, were utterly defeated. 20% something of the votes for the female version of Bolsonaro. I thought she was going to do well and actually reach a second round with Milei, but nope. She failed, I think people saw her terrible display during the debates in which she looked completely out of place, she couldn't articulate one entire sentence. She is awful, she's the cop-friendly pro-security "let's crack down the protesters will all the might of the military" president, but she was the security minister during the Macri days and she completely sucked at her job, in fact, narco violence increased so she didn't fix shit. Her other social and economic policies were dogshit as well. She's a terrible candidate overall, they would have done much better with the other candidate, Larreta, who is the former mayor of Buenos Aires City.

Milei is far from being dead. He lost votes compared to his performance in the primaries, but it's far from over. Do I think he has a chance? Yes, he still does, but it depends a lot on the others and their decision to vote. Still, I don't think his message has enough traction to give him the presidency. I dunno, you can't really talk about dollarization, elimination of ministeries, erradication of all subsidies, having an extremely market oriented education all while allying yourself with some of the most repulsive figures in politics like his VP who's a fucking genocide denial piece of shit. We shall see, he will now have to beg the "political caste" he "hates" for votes, that could potentially ruin his persona. But his voters are completely losing it rn so it's all good.

Also the amazing phenomenom that is Peronism. Anti-Peronists are usually middle-high class little bourgeois who think most Peronists are poor uneducated dumb mestizos too stupid to have pity on themselves and thus rely on Peronism to get something. There is this idea of "clientelism" in which Peronism will literally give you money and subsidies and you will give them your vote, that Peronism keeps you in poverty so that you will vote for them all the time. This is extremely reductionist (and classist, let alone racist), the bases of Peronism are with working class people, plain and simple. And most of these proletarians are poor, but they're not stupid. They're all politically charged individuals whose main allegiance is with Peronism but will actually punish Peronism if they don't get what they want. To think of them as mere NPCs that are led against their will by the Peronists is stupid, but the opposition think it is this way, and this is why they continue to lose. Peronists don't get these votes for granted either, they have to work their asses off for them.

And lastly, the Left. Yet another atrocious result for the Trots, they are completely unable to grow and completely unable to craft a message that resonates among the workers. They do some excellent ground organizing, yes, but as a political party they're pretty terrible. They are a decent parliamentary protest party though, but I know Trots too well, I know if we give them political power they will break apart lmfao. Potential left wing voters are sucked towards Peronism, and the Left has this historical problem of never being able to convince Peronist voters to vote for them instead. So I think we need a new Left, fuck it I even accept socdems (third world socdems are much better than the ones in the first world, I can assure you that) or even mild socialists, Trotskyism doesn't work for this I'm sorry. It's like having an Anarchist party, what are they even going to do? Let Trots organize workers at a ground level which is incredibly based and they're good at it, but keep them away from electoral politics because they're not made for this I think.

The State of Palestine’s Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations in Geneva has sent a statement to media organisations challenging the veracity of comments from Israel after the Gaza hospital explosion that killed at least 471 people:

“Anyone with experience monitoring previous Israeli military aggressions against the Palestinian population of Gaza, is appalled, though not surprised, by the wave of disinformation being spewed out by Israel’s propaganda machine regarding the targeting of the Baptist Al Ahli hospital in Gaza.

“For decades, every time Israel is accused of an atrocity, it resorts to the usual playbook to attempt to cover up its crime: First, it denies its involvement and says that the Palestinians did it to themselves. Then, it quietly admits to having perpetrated it but says that it was not intentional. Then, it claims to be ‘investigating’ the situation while counting on the international community to forget it ever happened. Then, at the next crime, rinse and repeat.

“No amount of PR or censorship will be able to cover up the colonial, apartheid nature of Israel, a State that continues to relentlessly commit war crimes and crimes against humanity against a besieged, occupied population,” it said.

Shadow Foreign Minister Simon Birmingham has been asked by Insiders host David Speers about whether, in his view, Israel is engaging in the collective punishment of Palestinian citizens, as some government miniters have suggested.

He claims Israel has not engaged in such activities.

"It is important we do not allow moral equivalence to be drawn or be sought to be drawn," he says.

"The attacks of Hamas against Israel were horrific. They were targeting babies, children, the elderly, and others. They were targeting them because they are Jews.

"Israel is acting in self-defence, as Australia and many other countries around the world have recognised their right to do so.

"Israel is seeking to disable Hamas and its ability to operate as a terrorist threat. That is something we should continue to support, while of course wanting to see Israel operate in ways that protect innocent lives as much as possible."

Birmingham says Israel is acting "well within its rights".

Lt. Col. Conricus also suggested protests being carried out against Israel, in Australia and abroad, were being attended by people who were "either uninformed or really filled with hate towards Israel based on things that have nothing to do with what's going on in Gaza now."

"If you stand with an organisation that sent a thousand or more armed men into a sovereign country in order to execute, burn alive, rape, butcher, mutilate and behead civilians … that's where you stand," he said.

"Those are your morals and that is how you will go down in history."

Zelensky reportedly banned from entry to Israel after being spotted sneaking away from an IDF base with a big sack over his shoulder with a cartoon rocket printed on it. Reports say two Mossad agents chased the head of state with batons before he evaded them by jumping down an open manhole after which the two agents collided with one another.

CNN's coverage of the hospital bombing has been terrible. If they start an hour with that - I stop watching. The worst anchor has been Erin Burnett. I couldn't figure out how to explain her attitude until a minute ago. Not only has she sounded like an IDF spokesperson - she's got the same tone of somebody complaining to the manager.

"This is the worst meal I ever had. With my husband I was discussing how Israel and the US have show the world Hamas did the bombing. Because of course they did. But I could tell the waiters and even the busboy didn't agree."

The manager: "Staff actually spoke to you about this?"

"When they were bringing out the food or taking away dishes - I could just tell they were foolish, they didn't understand the situation, and they are terrible people. They didn't actually say anything but I think you should fire them all."

---

Edit

I had a look at her Wikipedia page.

Shortly after joining CNN, Burnett aired an October 4, 2011 segment on the Occupy Wall Street protests titled "Seriously?" She was accused by journalism watchdog group Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) of misrepresenting facts about protesters. Journalist Glenn Greenwald reacted in a Salon article detailing bias in Burnett's reporting, which he attributed to her previous work experience on Wall Street as well as her partner's employment with Citigroup.

She's not worth googling but I bet there's lots stories of this sort of stuff. She couldn't say "Seriously?" about a bombing but I bet she sure wanted to.

I don't know if this was already mentioned or if it got lost in the shuffle of all the other news going on, but on October 10th a deal for the creation of the new Slovak government was announced. The deal includes the 2 Social Democratic parties SMER-SD and HLAS-SD which as you may remember supported lowering Slovakian commitments to Ukraine and opposed the current western consensus on the war. To form government though the parties have formed a coalition with SNS, a neo-fascist party that has praised Nazi aligned leader Josef Tiso and advocated for the killings of Roma and Hungarians in Slovakia. Once again we see that Social Democrats are the left wing of fascism

UK Benefits Freeze Would Save £4 Billion, Worsen Child Poverty

UK Chancellor Jeremy Hunt would save more than £4 billion ($4.9 billion) a year but plunge hundreds of thousands of children into poverty if he freezes welfare payments next year, new research showed

The Resolution Foundation said a decision not to raise working-age benefits in line with prices would hit the incomes of 9 million households by an average of £470 and push an extra 400,000 children into absolute poverty.

The benefit to the Treasury would amount to £4.2 billion, it calculated. The warning comes after Bloomberg reported last month that the Chancellor is drawing up cost-saving measures ahead of the Autumn Statement on Nov. 22, including keeping the cash value of benefits unchanged.

Hunt and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak are coming under increasing pressure from Conservative MPs to cut taxes to boost the party’s standing with voters ahead of a general election widely expected next year. However, the public finances are already stretched, meaning any giveaways may have to be funded by spending cuts.

Benefits typically increase every April using the rate of inflation in the previous September. The figures for September this year are due to be published on Wednesday, with economists expecting a slight slowdown to 6.5%.

Lindsay Judge, research director at the Resolution Foundation, said a benefits freeze would “come at a terrible cost” and deepen “a cost of living crisis that is already hitting low and middle income households the hardest.”

“At a time when the incomes of the poorest half of the population are already set to fall next year, failing to uprate working-age benefits in line with prices would be hard to defend,” she said.

Gotta say that as someone that has observed the situation in the Gulf region for years, it is now obvious to me that Qatar and Kuwait are way less shitty than the the UAE/Saudi/Bahrain trio. The Qatari royal family actually sympathize with Arabist causes and allows the population to express such sentiments, while the trio are just completely cucked to the US. This was also obvious during the Gulf crisis back in 2017 or so, but my respect for Qatar and Kuwait has definitely solidified in recent days.

Members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should impose an oil embargo and other sanctions on Israel and expel all Israeli ambassadors, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Wednesday. An urgent meeting of the OIC is taking place in the Saudi city of Jeddah to discuss the escalating Israeli-Palestinian conflict, after a blast at a Gaza hospital late on Tuesday killed large numbers of Palestinians.

seen-this-one

In October 1973, the members of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), led by King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, proclaimed an oil embargo targeted at nations that had supported Israel during the Yom Kippur War. The initial nations targeted were Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States, though the embargo also later extended to Portugal, Rhodesia and South Africa. By the end of the embargo in March 1974, the price of oil had risen nearly 300%, from US$3 per barrel ($19/m3) to nearly $12 per barrel ($75/m3) globally; US prices were significantly higher. The embargo caused an oil crisis, or "shock", with many short- and long-term effects on global politics and the global economy.
