Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that

a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,

b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and

c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.

It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

US Vetoes United Nations Security Council Resolution on Gaza

"Once again, the UNSC failed to fulfill its responsibility," Erdogan said, adding that mainstream media "whitewashes" human carnage with biased and hypocritical publications.

On Wednesday, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) held a vote for a Brazilian-drafted resolution that calls for humanitarian pauses in Gaza at the UN headquarters in New York.

The Brazilian-drafted resolution won the support of 12 of the 15 members of the Security Council. The United States, which has veto power, was the only council member that voted against it. Britain and Russia abstained.

Before voting on the Brazilian draft, the UNSC voted separately on two amendments to the Brazilian draft submitted by Russia. Wednesday's failure by the Security Council was the second in a row to adopt a resolution on Gaza.

On Monday, the UNSC failed to adopt a Russian-drafted resolution that would have called for a humanitarian cease-fire. The draft resolution failed to win enough votes in favor for adoption.

The Russian amendments - on a call for an end to indiscriminate attacks on civilians and a call for a durable humanitarian cease-fire, instead of humanitarian pauses contained in the Brazilian text - were unable to pass as there was not enough support by UNSC members. The U.S. was the only council member that voted against the Russian amendments.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan blamed the United Nations, Western countries, and the media for the Gazan crisis, which "risks spreading to our entire region."

He mentioned that efforts to resolve the problems have been hampered by measures such as the United States sending an aircraft carrier to the region, cutting off humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, and collective punishment of the people of Gaza.

"The UNSC, increasingly ineffective, once again failed to fulfill its responsibility. Western countries, so passionate about human rights and freedoms, only added fuel to the fire," denounced Erdogan, who highlighted that mainstream media "whitewashes human carnage with biased and hypocritical publications.

SMOKESCREEN WAS JUST DEPLOYED ON THE GAZA BORDER

VISIBLE ON LIVESTREAM HERE:

https://youtu.be/ZYT_WcLo-zA

This is Israel side looking into Gaza side, lots of speculation on cause of smokescreen.

EDIT: Nothing happened. False alarm. Looks like 2 bomb strikes and one causes a fire with a lot of smoke. Sure looked like a huge smoke screen though and got a bunch of channels posting, it was a tonne of obscuring smoke.

Keep on seeing the Israeli Foreign Ministers statement about how the territory of Gaza will decrease played off as "He doesn't say ALL of Gaza, so it is fine and good actually. How dare you spread fake news by saying they intend to annex Gaza?".

And then they'll go on to chide the Palestinians for not wanting to leave when they're clearly not going to be allowed to return.

Hamas Will Publish 'Evidence' Of Israel's Involvement In Gaza Hospital Attack

The group claim they will present proof of Israel's culpability to international bodies.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 45 points 2 years ago (2 children)

An ex-general was just on CNN. I missed the first half of what he said about Israel's ground war. But I catch this: "And if they go in soft - that's a problem too." I'm dying of curiosity if in the first half he actually said "go in hard".

About a week ago I made a hard/soft joke that I never thought I'd hear some military guy say on tv news and just a week later too. The military guys are far more direct and crude as the ground war continues to get closer. They must be excited to do the ghoulish and sports-like play by plays once it starts.

Full Hezbollah statement is a bit better than the quote of it that was snipped out earlier.

🟡🟢 Hezbollah:

In the name of the Almighty.

Humanity bows its forehead at the horrific and brutal crime committed by the zionist murder and criminal gangs in the Al-Maamadani Hospital in Gaza, which claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent martyrs.

This massacre is a continuation of the massacres that preceded it, from the massacres since the establishment of this criminal, usurping entity in Deir Yassin, Houla, Sabra and Shatila all the way to the massacres of Qana and others over the years of the hateful occupation, revealing the true criminal face of this entity and its sponsor, the greatest Satan and criminal: the United States of America. The U.S. bears direct and full responsibility for this massacre and for all crimes committed by the zionist enemy.

Merely issuing statements of condemnation and denunciation are no longer sufficient. We call on the peoples of our Arab and Islamic nation to take immediate action in the streets and squares to express intense anger and put pressure on governments and states wherever they are.

International and regional organizations must take immediate action against the massacres and genocide of the oppressed Palestinian people and the implementation of forced displacement under the weight of massacres, terrorism, and murder. ‏

Let tomorrow, Wednesday, be a day of unprecedented anger against the enemy and its crimes and against Biden’s visit to the zionist entity to cover and protect this criminal entity.

Let the message be clear that this is a day that comes after it on the path of resistance, victory, and retaliation for the oppressed against the oppressor.

Indeed, Allah is capable of granting them victory.

Hamas leader Haniyeh says US responsible for hospital massacre

The United States is responsible for the deadly Israeli attack on the al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, says Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. “The US holds the responsibility of the hospital attack because of the cover it gives to the Israeli aggression,” Haniyeh said.

Haniyeh added that the attack confirmed Israel’s “brutality” and the extent of its “defeat” after Hamas’s attack on October 7. He also called for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank to rise up against the Israeli occupation – just as thousands take to the streets in Ramallah.

Disappointed we won't know who the next Speaker candidate is until Tuesday. This shitshow has been fun to watch. Even better than the previous one.

Somebody voted Boehner in one of the rounds. Great callback.

We had another rep threaten to vote Trump, but that was before Jordan was out so that's probably not going anywhere unfortunately.

A big question: can they beat January's 15 ballots?

archive.today • 92NY Pulls Event With Viet Thanh Nguyen Over Criticism of Israel - The New York Times

92NY, one of New York City’s premier cultural venues, decided on Friday to abruptly pull an event that evening featuring the Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Viet Thanh Nguyen after he signed an open letter critical of Israel, drawing criticism that the organization was stifling dissenting voices.

[...]

At the relocated event, Nguyen described the Y’s decision, which he said he was informed of around 2 p.m. that afternoon, as a “cancellation.” [...] No explanation had been given, he said. But he said he assumed it was a response to the fact that he was among the more than 750 writers and artists who signed an open letter published in The London Review of Books on Wednesday that was highly critical of Israel.

Comments are off - the cowards.

Biden says he used data "shown by my defense department" to back up claims Israel did not strike Gaza hospital

US President Joe Biden said he cited “the data I was shown by my defense department,” when asked Wednesday what made him confident Israelis weren’t behind the hospital blast in Gaza City that Palestinian officials say left hundreds dead overnight.

It comes after Biden's comments on the explosion earlier Wednesday, when he said, “It appears as though it was done by the other team,” during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

???

US President Biden to Israelis: "While you feel that rage, don't be consumed by it"

US President Joe Biden in an address in Tel Aviv on Wednesday lamented the loss of life during the October 7 attacks in Israel by Hamas. But he also cautioned Israelis that while they may feel rage, they should not be consumed by it.

"I caution this. While you feel that rage, don't be consumed by it. After 9/11, we were enraged in the United States. While we sought justice and got justice, we also made mistakes," he said.

Wartime decisions are "never clear or easy," he said.

"There's always cost. But it requires being deliberate. It requires asking very hard questions. It requires clarity about the objectives and an honest assessment about whether the path you're on will achieve those objectives," he added.

Biden also stressed that the "majority" of Palestinians are not with Hamas.

"The vast majority of Palestinians are not Hamas. Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people," he said.

"Hamas uses innocents, innocent families in Gaza as human shields, putting their command centers, their weapons and the communications tunnels in residential areas. The Palestinian people are suffering greatly as well," he added.

He also remarked on Tuesday's hospital blast in Gaza City, saying, "We mourn the loss of innocent Palestinian lives like the entire world."

doubt

"The United States unequivocally stands for the protection of civilian life during conflict. And I grieve, I truly grieve for the families who were killed or wounded by this tragedy," he added.

Biden says Israel has agreed to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza

doubt

US President Joe Biden said Israel has agreed humanitarian assistance can cross into Gaza from Egypt, warning that any attempts by Hamas to steal the aid would illustrate it has "no concern for the welfare of the Palestinian people."

The US "unequivocally stands for the protection of civilian life during conflict," Biden said during remarks in Tel Aviv, adding, "People of Gaza need food, water, medicine, shelter."

"Today I asked the Israeli cabinet, who I met with for some time this morning, to agree to the delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza, based on the understanding that there will be inspections and that the aid should go to civilians and not to Hamas," Biden said.

Biden urges two-state solution to support peace

US President Joe Biden in a Wednesday address in Tel Aviv said he supports the two-state solution in the pursuit of peace.

"Nations of conscience like the United States and Israel are not measured solely by the example of power. We are measured by the power of our example, and that's why as hard as it is, we must keep pursuing peace. We must keep pursuing a path so that Israel and the Palestinian people can both live safely and securely in dignity and in peace," he said.

"For me, that means a two-state solution," he added. "We must keep working for Israel's greater integration with its neighbors. These attacks have only strengthened my commitment and determination and my will to get that done."

MOTHERFUCKER, if you truly supported this idea then force Israel to accept it. But that will never happen.

Wolf Bitzer just asked his guest about the "suffering of the Palestinian people". The guy's first name is Mohammad. I was surprised. Could this actually be a good segment?

Nope. It turned out the guy is an advisor to the IDF who lives in Tel Aviv and he went directly into "Hamas uses Palestinians as human shields..."

Ninja edit: He's said said the phrase "human shields" at least three times now.

In yet another installment of "Western leftists sucks ass" the Danish Red-Greens, a demsoc nominally revolutionary party that makes up the furthest left segment of the Overton window there, has ceased cooperation with the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine over their participation in the Al-Aqsa Flood which the Red-Greens call "a terror action", parroting zionist propaganda. In the period 2013-2021 the Red-Greens worked with the DFLP and two other Palestinian organisations on a project funded by the Danish government's Institute for Parties and Democracy to "educate young Palestinians in humans rights and strengthen gender equality".

This is not the first time the Red-Greens are a bunch of radlib cowards when it comes to antiimperialism. Following the start of the Ukraine war they ditched their opposition to NATO cutting the lack of an alternative to the American military organisation. In 2011 they fell for western propaganda and voted to bomb Libya.
