Hi everyone,

I'm currently setting up my LG G3 with the latest Apple TV. I'm planning also to use two HomePod mini as my default audio system. I'm wondering if the sound quality experience is worth it.

I've read that pairing the HomePod mini together can provide a better surround sound experience. Is it much better?

I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has experience with this setup.

Specific questions:

• What are the pros and cons of pairing HomePod mini together? • Is the difference in sound quality significant? • Does a pair of HomePod mini setup provide a better sound quality experience? • Can a pair of HomePod mini be the default output or do I have to select it every time I turn on the tv? • Does this setup make sense only with regular HomePods (not mini)?

Thank you!

No. If you’re spending that much on a to then get a proper sound system.

It's not the best choice that exists, but if your choices are between tv speakers and a pair of minis, the minis will probably be better.

If you're buying the minis just for this, don't, get a true sound bar. If you already have the minis, you can give them a try.

You'll not get surround, you'll get stereo.

You can set the minis as the default output for the aTV.

I already have some HomePods mini in the leaving room for HomeKit purposes (not for surround tv audio). I am wondering if I could use them as a stereo pair once the new tv will come. Otherwise, I was kind of thinking to buy one regular HomePod to replace the two minis. The purpose is to enjoy a better audio quality and, at the same time, have the Apple ecosystem in a good shape.

I use the HomePod minis for my kitchen tv. It’s mostly for when I want to watch sports and my wife is watching the main tv. For my kitchen tv, I think it’s an amazing setup and great quality. I wouldn’t use it for my main tv though. My buddy has two full size HomePods as his setup and it’s not bad! The minis are too small - I wish they’d let you connect 4 of them at once

Yup. I live in a flat, and don’t need surround sound, but I think it’s an excellent sound for my TV. Light years ahead of the sound that comes out of my TV, at any rate.

TV built-in speakers are crap and the mini homepods are only slightly better. Just about any stereo pair or 2.1 system will sound infinitely better.

I have two minis with my Apple TV and I love it. Could go a bit louder but it’s better than the Tv speakers for sure

Why would you get a like $5K TV and 200$ worth of "speaker" lmao

I use a pair for my m1 iMac. I like the look and how it fits on the desktop.
