holding flashlight under face

Imagine a terrifying world where we are all ruled by monsters of every stripe. And not hot ones like werewolves, but instead decaying zombies and mummies who are both insensitive to, and actively benefit from the immense suffering they cause on a daily basis. The top echelon of society, filled with profit-seeking, bloodsucking vampires. And the worst of it is that they repeat on a daily basis that what they are doing is not only just, but there is no other possible way to do it.

Pretty spooky, right? What if I told you that this world... was our own?

Happy Halloween!

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

If you protest war crimes you're a "heckler"?

At a campaign reception in Minneapolis on Wednesday evening, a heckler who identified herself as a rabbi interrupted President Biden and demanded a cease-fire between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group. “As a rabbi, I need you to call for a cease-fire right now,” the woman, who gave her name to reporters as Rabbi Jessica Rosenberg, shouted. In response, Biden said he does believe there should be a “pause” in order to get more people out of Gaza. The woman was escorted out by security singing “cease-fire now.”

“cease-fire now.”

I wonder what song she was singing that to.

b from MoA absolutely cooking today after describing the attempted ethnic cleansing policy of the Biden White House, describing the genocide as “humanitarian corridor” and “a plan for safe passage to Egypt”

This is another failure of the dimwit policies cooked up by National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and SecState Anthony Blinken as directed by their Zionist puppeteers.

I for one support all plans that would allow them to safely leave Washington DC. They can move to Antarctica or to wherever the climate is severe enough to cool their genocidal moods.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day owing to the tradition of wearing a remembrance poppy) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War in 1919 to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty. The day is also marked by war remembrances in several other non-Commonwealth countries.

In most countries, Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November to recall the end of First World War hostilities. Hostilities formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" of 1918, in accordance with the armistice signed by representatives of Germany and the Entente between 5:12 and 5:20 that morning. ("At the 11th hour" refers to the passing of the 11th hour, or 11:00 am.) The First World War officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on 28 June 1919.

Russian communist talks about her visit to Italy (Part 2):

We come to the home of one of the organizers of the conference, the leader of the Italian Fronte del dissenso Moreno Pasquinelli. Moreno lives in Umbria, in the village of Castellina, on a mountain. A stone house built in 1200 (!!!), half sunk into the ground. Suddenly it turns out that in this house, which seems so familiar to us, about 50 people can easily fit around a large oak table - leaders of local communities, political and student leaders of Umbria were invited to meet with us.

Over plates of spaghetti we talk about the war in Europe, the nature of Kyiv fascism, and the support of the Russian special operation by the Western public. As soon as the conversation turns to Russian problems, a calm conversation turns into a stormy, emotional discussion: we are trying to explain to our Italian colleagues that our support for the special operation and the Kremlin’s foreign policy efforts does not mean at all that we support Putin in domestic political issues - we are the opposition. “Leave your differences at least for a while,” the Italians shout, “when you win the war, then you will make claims to the authorities...”

In response to our objections, Moreno jumps up on the table, in the middle of plates of spaghetti, pulls down his pants, shows his bare ass and shouts: “Here! This is what will happen to all of Europe, this is what will happen to Italy, this is what will happen to all of us if your Putin loses the war! ! Do you understand??"

We understand. There is nothing to object to. “This is our war,” we say, “and we will not lose it.”

The Italians sure have a way of expressing themselves.

In my own relatively unimportant provincial city in northern Europe there has been several protests, you see banners and Palestinian flags hanging out of windows and on cars. Someone is drawing small Palestinian flags and gluing then to buses and mailboxes. The public displays of support for Palestine is driven largely by the Palestinian refugee communities you find everywhere in Europe. After all, it is their relatives who are being genocided by the zionists.

Meanwhile no normal people can be arsed to display support for the zionists. The only attempt I know of is some attention-seeking chud councillor who demanded that the zionist fish should be flown next to the Ukrainian one on city hall but AFAIK nothing came of it. Normal people who doesn't directly support Palestine take the "it's the Middle East, they're all killing eachother all the time" position which is as stupid and racist as it is lazy but at least it doesn't accept the premise of the precious zionist state who must be defended at all cost.

The only people who do support the genocide is the majority of politicians and similar professional opinion-havers. They are hardline zionists but they have no popular base for it. People here are as racist and exceptionalist as any westerners but even they can sense that the zionist position is one to be avoided.

Israel stopped listening to Hamas radio traffic a year ago: Report

Israel’s signals intelligence agency, Unit 8200, stopped listening to traffic on Hamas fighters’ hand-held radios a year ago, according to a report by The New York Times.

The Israeli army stopped doing so because they believed it was a “waste of effort”, read the investigation which details the security failures over the past years that paved the way for the October 7 assault into southern Israel.

The report also said that US intelligence services had “largely stopped” collecting information on Hamas under the conviction that Israel was managing the group’s regional threat.

archive.today • Opinion | A Gaza Pediatrician's Desperate Plea for Fuel for Hospitals - The New York Times

By Hussam Abu Safyia • Dr. Abu Safyia is a pediatrician at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

When the generators fall silent, we will be relegated to practicing medieval-level medicine. Without an urgent resupply of fuel, the lights will go out permanently, and our hospital could turn into a morgue.

[...]

Most of us have chosen to remain in northern Gaza, defying the evacuation orders because we’re unwilling to leave behind our patients, for many of whom evacuation would mean certain death. Abandoning them now would be a violation of my Hippocratic oath as well as basic human decency. My wife and six children have also stayed at the hospital with me since the violence began.

I’ve tried to convince them to head south, but my wife told me that we will either live or die together. Many Palestinians in north Gaza feel the same, risking their lives at home rather than face the prospect of becoming refugees in the south.

[...]

On Oct. 20, as I finished operating on a girl who had lost her leg, I stepped into the hallway and my wife was there to hug me. Our home, she told me, had been destroyed in an airstrike on an adjacent building while I was in surgery. The hospital is now our only home. At night, I go to my office and close the door to cry, away from the eyes of my patients and family.

Comments are off. The cowards.

His name spelled correctly is Hussam Abu Safiya. They spelled his name wrong. Twice. And the article is from yesterday. They'd know that and be forced to fix it in a timely manner if comments were on.

So my suspicions were correct. There has been a split within Hamas, and surprise surprise it's the faction that's not directly involved in waging war that's being useless, sectarian, and defeatist. This is who all those Western articles sourcing "senior Hamas officials" are using. Just a bunch of useless bozos who haven't taken up arms against the IOF and are now crying that Hezbollah hasn't reduced Tel Aviv to rubble in the comfort of a luxury hotel.

Extra context: There is no rift between Hezbollah and Hamas where it counts. Hezbollah and the military wing of Hamas in Gaza never break contact and are in constant coordination. The personal views of Meshaal and Hanieh do not represent the views of Hamas as whole. Giving an example in 2014 Gaza war Hezbollah and Hamas were in direct contact even when Meshaal and Hanieh were hostile to the axis of resistance especially Syria. After the actual rift between Hamas and Syria, in 2022 Hamas went back to Damascus to rebuild relations with Damascus and excluded Meshaal and Hanieh from the equation by sending Khalil Al hayeh as representative to Hamas. Any disappointment expressed by many in the political wing of Hamas do not matter. Mind you Hezbollah and Hamas already met in Beirut during this war and are coordinating

Be on the lookout for various "Senior Hamas officials express disappointment in Nasrallah's speech" and "Nasrallah's speech exposes further divide between Hamas and Hezbollah says senior Hamas officials" articles in the coming days by the West.

Blinken Says US Needs to Fund Wars in Ukraine, Gaza Because of China

Biden administration officials are arguing that the US needs to fund the wars in Ukraine and Gaza to send a message to China in their pitch for Congress to authorize a massive $105 billion spending package that includes military aid for Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan.

“What happens in Ukraine, what happens in the Middle East, also matters for the Indo-Pacific. Beyond Europe, we know that our allies, as well as our adversaries, as well as our competitors, are watching that conflict. They’re watching our response,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on Tuesday, according to The South China Morning Post.

“So the funding request … is vital to secure a free and open Indo-Pacific in the face of mounting challenges in that region,” Blinken added. The hearing came after Republicans in both the House and the Senate introduced bills to separate military aid for Israel from other issues.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin made the same argument at the hearing. “China would like to see the United States be unsuccessful,” Austin said. “They would like to see Russia continue to challenge us and keep us focused on that area so that we have less time, energy, and resources” to focus on the Asia Pacific.

The $105 billion request made by the White House includes $7.4 billion to advance the administration’s strategy against China in the Asia Pacific, including over $3 billion to finance submarine construction, $2 billion in assistance for regional countries, and $2 billion in military aid. It’s not clear if the $2 billion in military aid is exclusively for Taiwan.

The request also includes $61.4 billion to fund the proxy war in Ukraine for another year, $14.3 billion for Israel, $13.6 billion for border security, and $9.15 billion for humanitarian aid. The stand-alone Israel bills introduced by Republicans would also provide Israel with $14.3 billion, although the House version pays for it by cutting money from the Internal Revenue Service, which the White House is not happy about.

Absolute derangement

Brazilian Landless Workers Send Two Tons of Food to Gaza

The Brazilian Air Force will transport the humanitarian aid cargo, which consists of corn and powdered milk.

On Monday, the Brazilian Foreign Affairs Ministry announced that it will send two tons of food to the Gaza Strip. Previously, this South American country sent a shipment of water purifiers and medicines that are already in Egypt.

The new shipment of humanitarian aid consists of corn and powdered milk donated by the Landless Movement (MST), a left-wing peasant organization that has historically expressed its solidarity with Palestine.

The cargo will be transported by a Brazilian Air Force plane to Egypt, on whose border with the Gaza Strip humanitarian aid sent by dozens of countries is concentrated and which enters the Palestinian territory in dribs and drabs.

Entry is through the Egyptian Rafah crossing to the Awja crossing, where loads are inspected before entering the Gaza Strip. These procedures occur despite the serious deterioration of the humanitarian and health situation in the Palestinian enclave.

Currently, some 30 Brazilians and thousands of citizens of other countries are trapped in the Palestinian territory waiting for an agreement to allow their departure to Egypt.

The offensive launched by the Israeli occupation forces, however, has prevented the formation of a humanitarian corridor that allows the departure of people from Gaza, a Palestinian territory that remains under incessant Israeli bombardment.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Lebanese militias attacked an Israeli occupation army position on the border with Lebanon. The operation did not generate casualties on any of the fighting sides.

French senators propose bill to make Zionism criticism a criminal offence

A group consisting of 16 French senators, most of them associated with the political party The Republicans (LR), introduced a bill, led by Senator Stéphane Le Rudulier, aimed at making anti-Zionism a criminal offense. Senator Le Rudulier argues that the rise in anti-Semitism is linked to hatred of Israel.

The proposed bill, which was submitted for a first reading in the Senate, includes penalties for various offenses related to anti-Zionism. It seeks to punish those who deny the existence of the State of Israel with one year of imprisonment and a fine of EUR 45,000. Those who insult the State of Israel would face two years imprisonment and a fine of EUR 75,000, and those who directly provoke hatred or violence against the State of Israel with five years of imprisonment and a fine of EUR 100,000.

“With 16 senators we demand the criminalization of anti-Zionism. The explosion of anti-Semitism is fueled by hatred of Israel, the false nose of hatred of Jews Anti-Zionism could expose its perpetrators to up to 5 years in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros,” Le Rudulier stated on X. Senator Le Rudulier has also called for the dissolution of La France Insoumise, as well as parties that have advocated terrorism and Hamas, which he says call for the destruction of Israel and the extermination of Jews. In a letter addressed to Élisabeth Borne, the senator denounces the presence of what he calls a “fifth column of Palestinian terrorism in France” and calls for the dissolution of several political groups accused of advocating terrorism.

Some political commentators have said there has been an increase in the conflation of anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism. Richard Wagman, the honorary president of the French Jewish Union for Peace (UJFP), has criticized the conflation, emphasizing that anti-Semitism is a form of racial discrimination and hatred, while Zionism and anti-Zionism are political ideas.

Student protesters walk out of Hillary Clinton’s class at Columbia.

Nearly 300 students were seated at Columbia University on Wednesday afternoon for a two-hour lecture on women’s involvement in peace processes delivered by Hillary Clinton and Keren Yarhi-Milo, the dean of Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.

Not even halfway through the class, about 30 students stood up and gathered their computers and backpacks, as part of a planned student walkout. They joined several dozen other protesters congregating near the lobby of the building.

The demonstrators, who sat quietly in a common area in the International Affairs Building — many of them in face masks — were protesting what they perceived as the school’s role in publicly shaming students whose photographs appeared last week on the video screen panels on a truck seen near campus. The screens showed the faces of students beneath the words “Columbia’s Leading Antisemites.” The students said the photographs were taken from a “private and secure” online platform for students at the School of International and Public Affairs.

They demanded “immediate legal support for affected students” and “a commitment to student safety, well being and privacy.”

The students whose images appeared on the video panels were members of groups that had signed a statement about the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas on Israel that said, in part, “The weight of responsibility for the war and casualties undeniably lies with the Israeli extremist government.”

As Ms. Yarhi-Milo and Mrs. Clinton’s class was finishing around 4 p.m., the demonstrators shushed themselves into silence, anticipating that the dean and the former secretary of state would soon walk past the gathered students. That time never came. Word spread that Ms. Yarhi-Milo and Mrs. Clinton had left the building through a side door.

A spokeswoman for Columbia said the university had no comment. The protest came the day after the school announced a new task force on doxxing and student safety.

Also worth pointing out that the more the zionists lie the more emboldened antisemites around the world are going to become. We're a couple steps away from groypers rightfully pointing out that israel is lying, and therefore it means the holocaust was fake too, because Israel lies, ofc they're wrong, but you get what I mean.

🔴 Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine:

A call from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine to all the honorable people of our nation and the free people of the world:

In the face of the flowing blood in Gaza, words no longer work: Rise... Revolt... Storm the embassies of the aggressor nations... Burn them... Destroy them. Demand a halt to the flow of oil and gas to countries complicit in the aggression.

Time is of the essence, and history is unforgiving... Be assured that the people of Palestine will not let you down.

O free people, the fascist enemy seeks revenge on the Jabalia refugee camp, as well as the Nuseirat and Shati' camps, committing horrific massacres, which exceed in brutality what the Nazis did in their dark history, using six tons of destructive American bombs. A tragedy that appeals to human conscience; anyone who remains silent towards this killer is complicit in the genocide and depriving Palestinians of their humanity.

A morally, politically, and militarily defeated entity wants to claim victory over our Palestinian blood.

The Jabalia camp is the womb of the revolution and a symbol of Palestinian resilience and resistance, standing first in the battle of honor and duty, a spirit characterized by its strength, steadfastness, and high bravery. With its ground campaign, the enemy wants to cover its inevitable failure with massacres against Palestinian civilians, saluting the men of resistance in their various formations who are facing this aggression, and our steadfast people who reject displacement plans despite the genocidal war waged against them by the enemy.

Great Gaza, with the stature of its heroes and the blood of its children, is our roots deep in the ground. It will rise from the ashes.

Verbal stances don't shoot down planes or prevent missiles from falling on the heads of the innocent. Therefore, we call:

  • To expel the ambassadors of aggression.
  • A cry of anger and dignity to the entire the Arab street to stop the flow of oil and gas to countries complicit in the aggression.
  • It is time to close the American military bases in the Arab countries.
  • For the workers' unions in global ports to refuse to unload or load any weapon shipments from or to the zionist entity.

Let us trust in our people, our self, our dignity, our freedom, and our right to life.

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine

In the statement below released an hour ago, they claim to be members of the PA security apparatus in the West Bank, and have given Mahmoud Abbas an ultimatum of 24 hours to declare an "open confrontation" with the Israeli occupation, or else they will commit a mutiny https://x.com/aldanmarki/status/1721185432312930649?s=46

So we're in what, day 3 of a ground invasion? Though not "official official" it's official, the IDF is attempting to (thus far mostly failing) to invade Gaza. Is Hezbollah going to open up a second front? Has Iran's ominous "time is up" type shitposting fizzled to nothing? The second US carrier group is days away at this point. Seems like the window for anything crazy is rapidly closing, if not closed already. Maybe I'm just dooming, but it looks like nothing else is going to kick off.

Kinda shocked tbh. Didn't expect him to dive so deep into federation lore, conclude that they won't escalate because "the hexagonal tankies are claiming for it", then shout-out beehaw

Was made aware today that Israel has been working on a new Merkava model, the Merkava Mk.5 "Barak," which at a glance seems to best be described by an overconfidence & over-reliance on technology.

Article: https://www.edrmagazine.eu/israel-starts-delivering-the-5th-gen-merkava-barak-tank-to-its-armoured-units

A first major improvement came from sights; the commander got a new panoramic sight while the gunner’s sight is also brand new, Idan Tavor underlining that these are one or even more generation ahead of previous ones. Improvements came in electro-optic performances, which provide better imaging, “but the main step forward is that they have integrated AI into those sight that have now autonomous behaviours, and are capable to identify targets and objects by themselves.”

I seriously doubt that current AI technology is going to be better at identifying targets than a well trained crew working in conjunction with infantry support who can function as additional eyes for the tank (granted Israel's target acquisition only need be as sophisticated as to be able to determine whether someone is Palestinian or not). Best case scenario, it occasionally manages to pick out threats faster than the crew can, but I imagine the average experience using AI target acquisition is going to sifting though a lot of false positives.

The Fire Control System (FCS) has also been entirely upgraded. “The new version is faster and has better performances,” we were told, adding that the Merkava Barak is able to shoot on the move, day and night, with increased accuracy.

Being able to accurately fire on the move at both day & night has already been standard for most tanks made in the past few decades, so while it is probably an improvement over current FCS systems, I'm willing to bet it's not significant enough to really be notable.

Human-machine interface has also be completely reviews, adapting it to the young conscripts experience, multi-touchscreens with smartphone-like interface being now adopted. “We worked on it pretty hard for the last two years in order to make it very approachable for young soldiers who are used to their cell phones and playstations and now need to fight in a tank and we developed for them a very nice and new HMI.”

soypoint-1 It's like a vibeo game!!!

But seriously, what's the obsession with making everything touch screens nowadays? Especially in a military context where you'd think it'd be useful to have tactile controls that can be operated on muscle memory during high stress situations.

There's probably more stuff to pick apart, but overall it just feels like they're trying to use technology to compensate for the fact that they're frequently having to use their tanks in situations that tanks really shouldn't be used in, namely that they're being operated by under-trained conscripts to fight in urban guerilla warfare.
