Hi people, I just wanna know how’s your experience with the iPhone 15 pro and 15 pro max, since it got backlash regarding overheating and thermal design issues, titanium build and many more, even though Apple promised to solve it through updates, so are they really gone or there’s still something bugging the phone? How’s the overall experience been with you guys?! Please comment below!

My wife got a 15 pro max and I still have an 11 pro max. My 11 just got a fresh battery so they’re both at optimum performance.

She hasn’t complained about any issues. It just works.

Camera is miles better than the 11 pro max. Especially in low light, the zoom lens is great, pictures crisper, and the seamless transition between lenses in zoom is amazing. So is the auto portrait mode or the fact that you can change focus in post.

Speakers marginally better

Screen better in some areas (120hz, higher brightness outdoors). But on par with mine indoors viewing youtube or hdr content. There is a slight difference in color temperature. Not sure which device is more accurate. Consider mine has 4 years of wear and tear.

Battery life is on par. This is a let down for me.

Unless it’s opening a heavy game or app, there’s barely a difference in speed at which the os operates. Apps sometimes load faster on mine, sometimes on the 15. The 4gb ram on the 11 does make it reload websites more often though.

I hate the dynamic island. Literally see no point in it. It takes up more space than the notch as it’s pushed further down. There’s literally always a piece of it visible when viewing videos. The notch isn’t the best either but at least it was out of the way when watching videos.

Not a fan of scroll jitter in X and Reddit app.

Overall great, Coming from a 13 PM, My only complaint so far is that I miss the physical sim slot, and that the usb-c didn’t meet my all my expectation, lots of power draw issues from using most external ssd’s(although a dongle will fix it) , had to return my sandisk extreme pro (although the non-pro’s work fine)

[–] RndTho55@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

First time to own a PM version and while i enjoy the huge screen its too big for me especially when i put it inside my pocket, now i share the sentiments of people saying the PM is a bit uncomfortable.

The titanium build is ok i guess but to be honest it does not look as premium as the previous ones with the stainless steel. The phone feels fragile for some reason.

The camera is pretty great especially outdoors.

With the issues i haven’t really encountered any so far and i hope it stays that way.

Overall the phone’s performance is great. Aesthetic side i just prefer the stainless steel because its more premium looking and the feel is just solid.

Launch Day 15 Pro here…

I have been utterly impressed with this phone. It’s been an absolute workhorse for my day to day life. I previously came from an iPhone 13 mini and the phone feels “just right”.

Yes, my phone overheated a lot for the first few weeks when using it for simple things. Apple did quickly address these issues with iOS 17.0.3.

The 120hz screen has been a joy. Apple iOS makes a 60hz panel look really smooth but I was pleased with how good this panel is.

The camera has probably been my favorite thing about it this phone. I work in aviation and LOVE to take photos. I have a Canon DSLR camera that I typically use for my airplane photography. This phone has replaced my DSLR on planes that are within 77m (3X lens) distance. Now, it will never fully replace my DSLR due to the fact I’m taking pictures of planes up to a 650mm length. The iPhone camera is good, but not that good haha!

The only negative feedback I have is the battery. I opted for 6.1 because I value the 3X lens more than 5X zoom and prefer the form factor. Now don’t get me wrong, the phone last me a full workday. If I go out and start taking a bunch of photos/videos, it kills the battery pretty quick. Look, I get the camera drains the battery pretty significantly but still. I’m always by a charger so I can top off when needed but I still wish apple have this thing a little more juice!

Sorry if there’s any typos. It’s 5am and I’m tired lol

Loving the 15 pro. Had 14 pro but form factor is more comfortable. Caseless. Camera is amazing if you know what you’re doing.

İ phone 15 pro Max here. Kinda did not like it. I switched it from red mi note 10 pro and it feels. Odd. Just odd. Not better not worse. İ think I kinda expected better from 15 pro Max

[–] ikan84@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s awesome. Only thing I noticed certain app developers are way to slow to optimize the app to read and run all cores so it is heating up. Like Meta apps , certain VR apps.

Again most days I get through the day. But if on constant video calls or voice call for longer period the battery definitely drains faster.

I’m happy with my 15PM. The 120hz and brighter screen have been my favorite upgrade. Great purchase!

15 Pro Max. I was having weird WiFi issues where my connection would suddenly cut out, but that went away after I disabled 6e. Maybe it’s been fixed broadly, but I haven’t tried re-enabling the setting.

Battery life is fine but not as great as I’d hoped. It’s probably the apps I use and keep running in the background.

It does get questionably warm while charging. Not too hot to handle or anything, but warm to the point where I wonder if that’s normal. My 13 Pro Max would get similarly warm when wirelessly charging, but this one happens even when using a USB cable.

Love the camera. I never use digital zoom, but 25x really surprised me.

Where do you see the settings for 6E?

Coming from an XS everything is awesome. Except the price. The one problem I had was my wireless charger not working with the new phone due to the size of the cameras.

[–] SalmonSuit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

iPhone 12 to 15 pro. Mostly just loving battery life, don’t particularly care about the camera. I keep my phone in a sturdy case so don’t notice a change in the feel. Slightly more snappy and excellent battery life

[–] BadDub@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

XS tho 15 pro. Everything just feels smoother and just better 🤷‍♂️

[–] SavingsMuted3611@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s been amazing! Love the refresh rate, battery life and camera quality!

[–] Empero6@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

13pm to 15pm. It’s not really much of a significant upgrade.

[–] Plastic-Mess-3959@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Coming from a 12 pro max the ProMotion, Dynamic Island and cameras are a good upgrade

[–] prajyot97@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

this thread helped me finalize my purchase!

[–] GameJon@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

15pro natural titanium…

Came from a OnePlus 8 pro, first iPhone since the 4S

I love it /fin

[–] faattey@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

15 pro, upgraded from 11 pro max. Day to day just about the same. iOS hasn’t changed much over last few years. Battery life is ok but little disappointing, camera is awesome, more ram is nice as apps don’t close themselbes that often and finally screen brightness outdoors is really nice.

[–] InappropriateCanuck@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So far so good with everything. I came from Android so I'm still getting used to the massive lack of customization but overall this is a better device.

The camera is great, the weight is fine, the screen is nice and the dynamic island doesn't bother me THAT much although I'd rather have a punchhole by far..

I never had any of the overheating issues people talked about. Even with Wireless Charging.

[–] tonitacker@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

15 PM, camera is a dream and I never have battery issues throughout a day. Be welcome to look into r/iphone15pro for more info

[–] threenil@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Love it. Only gripe is the random disconnects when using CarPlay when the phone just barely moves. Only cable I’ve found that won’t disconnect at the slightest movement (without buying an adaptor) is the charger cable for my Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. Other than that, it’s great.

[–] Lance-Harper@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Perfect. I’m day 1 and battery is great, camera perfect and the and still noticed hot Jin the bezels.

I’m pretty happy with iOS too

[–] LyftedX@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I came from a 14 Pro Max, I like it the difference is minimal besides the USB type c. The overheating is kind of ridiculous. And I don’t use Facebook. But.B otherwise, I love the phone love the color cause I went with blue titanium.b

[–] Biostacle@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

11 Pro to 15 Pro, fantastic piece of technology. Screen is sharp, is fast and smooth, lightweight, good speakers and battery lasts the whole day. Plus is literally a game console, you can connect the IPhone 15 to a TV o monitor via USB and a game controller via bluetooth and you can play AAA games like Resident Evil Village.

[–] evangael@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Coming from the 12 Mini to the 15 Pro, great, no issues to report. I am hard pressed to ever return to Android.

[–] Taip74@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Against my better judgement, I got a 15 Pro Max rather than the 15 Pro - swayed by the enhanced optical zoom. Truth is I really liked my 13 Pro (but I wife had destroyed her Iphone X so I gave her the 13 Pro) so I should have just gotten another 15 Pro. However, other than the size, I've no complaints - had the phone since launch, it spends most of it's time on third party (Anker) wireless charging pads (one next to bed, one on my desk) or wired carplay in my car on longer trips - still showing 100% battery health (which I would expect after such a small period of time).

[–] kalaamtext@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The experience has been great, I haven’t had a single issue since I got it which was about two weeks ago. I upgraded from a iPhone 12 Pro to an iPhone 15 pro max and I’m glad I did because weight almost feels like my iPhone 12 Pro so it doesn’t feel like a brick.

[–] YubinTheBunny@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm reading through and I don't see anyone (so far) mention that the phone is slightly skinnier due to the reduced bezel sizes. Which for me is a huge boon especially with the slight reduction in weight.

I upgraded from a s21 ultra and 2 reasons held me back from a iPhone for the longest time. The width and USB c. I tried the 12 a while back and just found it too heavy and wide for one handed use with avg male hands and carpel tunnel.

Which those 2 things ticked off on my list I finally made the jump and have been very happy.

I do wish apple eventually changes their stance a little bit on sideloaded apps because for power users like me having opensourced apps is a huge plus.

[–] skinnygritty@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

12 pro to 15 pro max. Pro motion is nice, so is the bigger battery. Other than that, it’s 95% the same, literally just an iPhone. So nothing groundbreaking for me

[–] Mikithefapper@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Everyone I’ve a question as I’m about to get the 15 Pro (coming from iPhone X) and what concerns me is the battery: is it worth it to spend 150€ more and get the Pro Max over the Pro just for the battery? and more, is the bigger Pro Max battery going to age better than the regular Pro? or since it’s a bigger screen it’s going to draw more power and in a few years it’s going to age worse?

[–] halefish@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Iphone 15 pm here, awesome.

Mind you i upgraded from iphone 7 to 15 pm.

[–] SAGA0599@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Glad to know that almost everyone here is having fun with the phone without any problems! Thank you for all your feedback! I had a thought of upgrading from 12 pro max to 15 pro max maybe in the next 3-4 or maybe 5 months, so should I go for it or wait for the 16?

[–] Forest-Dane@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Pro max here. It's fine. Not much different to the 12 pro max before it

[–] GuessWhoItsJosh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

15 Pro, have had it just over a month now. Never had any overheating issues. In fact, it stays cooler than my 13 Pro did. No other issues of note either. Face ID is very quick, screen is bright, speakers are loud, camera is great and it's lighter than previous models.

[–] therealrico@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I went from an Xr to a 15 pro. I mean it’s definitely better but it’s little things rather than sweeping improvements. I appreciate the Dynamic Island more than I realized I would. I use it as a remote control for appletv all the time.

The fact that apps don’t reload when I switch back and forth is nice, especially if I’m copying and pasting.

The battery life is good but it seems to drain quicker than it should or maybe I’m being a bit unrealistic. It’s not a big deal now but 2-3 years later I bet it kinda blows.

The MagSafe charging is cool. But it’s a tad concerning how hot it gets.

The camera bump is much bigger and I need to find a case that I like that works best to protect the screen and the camera lenses.

I honestly was a bit underwhelmed considering where I came from but if I switched back I’d probably appreciate the 15 a lot more.

[–] MadRazzmatazz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wish I stuck with 14PM. CarPlay still don’t work like it should, don’t connect right away. Siri feels off. Have to repeat myself. Phone gets way hotter when charging too

[–] ShadowSythe7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I feel like I’ll be the odd one out here…..but I don’t care for my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I switched to Apple because my wife wanted to leave Samsung…..and I personally have been bored with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I had a 13 Pro Max prior and prior to that I had a Galaxy S10+.

Ive had my hands on both the Z Fold4 and the Z Fold5 for a week before my wife gave me a headache about switching….and I loved those phones….they are so unique and interesting, as well as innovative, while Apple is just…..meh. It’s another iPhone.

Like I said, probably going to be the odd one out here….but I can’t wait to leave Apple for good.

[–] Shibuyan-Booster@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My phone doesn’t lag when I get up to lv 230 on Bloons tower defense 6, I’m still in love.

[–] Zediatech@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Great! USB-C has finally come and finally able to export photos and videos at normal speeds. I actually do need to on a weekly basis. Sometimes I even record directly to a USB-C SSD. 🤯

[–] Isaac1009@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m wanting to upgrade. I have the 13 pro max but I’m really wanting a smaller phone so I’m looking at the 15 pro. Has anyone done a camera comparison? I really love taking photos and really just want a good camera overall.

[–] r00tie@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

15 Pro Max here. The battery life I get 10-11 hours screen on time. I would have hated myself if I missed out on this years iPhone. The camera is excellent as well

[–] bedoktime@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Coming from the X. I jumped to 15 Pro Max.

Been a blast. I enjoy photography once again with the phone. Probably what I enjoy most from the upgrade. I’m now able to make my imaginations of a shot come true with the zoom and processing capabilities.

The screen real estate is amazing for streaming video and browsing social media. The new chip allows me to run any app without delays or crashing.
With the improved photography and display as well as fast processing capabilities, I am super happy.

I was doubting of the max screen would be too large. It’s not that much bigger from the normal screen size. I’m still able to one hand keyboard with a bit of thumb stretching. It’s lighter than I anticipated.

I will be upgrading every 3 years from now on. I used to only upgrade every 5 years. Now I know what I have missed from not upgrading!

[–] RepMajor@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Amazing - one my favorite iPhones I’ve owned
