c/AntiMeme@sopuli.xyz: Anti Meme

We're the anti-meme community where the joke is that there isn't one, and by explaining that, we've ruined the whole thing, but we all find the collective misery hilarious.

The music of comedy is more important than the joke itself.

Follow the instance rules please, this is a lovely instance.

c/softwarequality: Software Quality Assurance (FOSS and non-FOSS) 🛡✓

This is a place to broadly discuss anything related to software QA, such as:

  • testing
  • bug reporting
  • project management, policies and procedures
  • bug bounties
  • culture (conducive to quality or contrary thereto)
  • design
  • programming languages
  • code transparency

To report specific bugs, consider the following related community instead of posting here:

I would suggest only posting about specific bugs in !softwarequality@infosec.pub if it’s not merely a bug to report but rather to showcase an example for a broader philosophical discussion.

Or perhaps if a bug has notable infosec consequences, it’s also worth discussing in !softwarequality@infosec.pub.

c/SlowLibrarianship@chirp.social: SlowLibrarianship

Slow Librarianship is a practice that evolved in response to academic hustle culture but applies to all areas of library work. Julia Glassman coined the term in 2017, and Meredith Farkas, inspired by Julia’s work, has been speaking and writing on the topic since. The term grew at the same time as other social movements, largely in the context of the pandemic. The core idea of valuing quality over quantity is timeless and transcends states of emergency. These values are echoed in societal movements for a better mental health response in workplace culture and within libraries specifically push back against classist notions of service and emotionally- and economically-damaging vocational awe.

Welcome to the Allegro community!

Allegro is a cross-platform library mainly aimed at video games and multimedia programming. It handles common, low-level tasks such as creating windows, accepting user input, loading data, drawing images, playing sounds, etc. and generally abstracting away the underlying platform. However, Allegro is not a game engine: you are free to design and structure your program as you like.
