Yes. Any sort of automated scraping needs to be double checked. It's generally fine. But for things behind distributor services like cloudflare Etc. The IP return is going to say more about the person connecting to it than the people behind it.

Quick addendum though. Cloud flare and AWS however are both in the United States if I'm not mistaken. And still vulnerable to being compromised by our fascist Administration. But the.world server itself is fine.

It's your vote. And honestly, presidential elections are meaningless beyond keeping Republicans out currently.

I would much rather see AOC or Mamdami focus on helping to build other state legislatures up as allies. That would be the best way to actually get things done. So much effort is wasted on the presidency. And not spent in the legislature, which is where the fascists have gotten most of their victories from.

The addition of vulkan can't be overstated. It blew several bottlenecks wide open. And I really need to get in to nodes. Lol but every new release brings newer better ones and I seem to keep falling further and further behind. Cgmatter is always showing off beta ones and I'm all like ooooh I can't wait till that's out. Then it is and the cycle starts again.

To them the facts never mattered. Just their feelings. So it's plenty in script for them.

His career was all downhill from there LOL

LOL you guys just can't help yourselves can you? I'm sure it's just a matter of time until a right-wing American fascist supporter comes in here and whines about their freeze peaches being violated by .world because they couldn't be Nazi enough. But as I said extremists all, and no one whose opinion should be valued much.

Lemmy.world is 100% hosted in Europe. Of course authoritarian groups left and right fantasize about it being hosted in the US for different reasons. Generally when their extreme views are moderated. However those groups also have a lot of control and resources to spread misinformation. Not to mention experience. So I don't find it surprising that a lot of people don't realize it's not.

Yeah, Trent is fine. I'm not going to have a major objection to him. Though I was hoping that they would continue the vibe that daft punk put up. You're not going to get any more fitting soundscape than something like they did. Then of course it's a shame how Disney did daft punk.

Though honestly I was hoping they might pick up a few lesser-known artists. Dance with the dead, midnight danger, Carpenter Brut. I mean listen to this track and tell me you don't hear light cycle race all over it.

And yeah I'm not sure what charm Jared Leto ever used to have. But at this point he's kind of kiss of death for any project.

Oh yeah I definitely remember the Myspace days back in the early 2000s. Shortly after I got out of college. Myspace was a good place for promotion and discoverability. Even got some artists signed to larger labels. Anyone remember porcelain and the tramps? Sadly it didn't work out well for them in the end.

Bandcamp though really seems to have done a lot to democratize publication and sales. No need to get signed. A lot of the newer artists I've found all have solid band camp sites. Or are only on band camp. Definitely a good move for red moon macabre in my estimation at least. Hopefully getting him more attention. I'd say it's well deserved. I know myself and a couple of my Elder goth acquaintances have been enjoying it since I ran across it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I may have heard it earlier in my listing session. Though I was at work and not fully focused. Just kind of jamming as I worked. But I will definitely give it a solid listen here later

Yes the writing is a bit weak and perhaps kind of stilted at times? But it doesn't ever Veer into incoherent AI gibberish. It's unfortunate this day and age that we feel the need to question whether something is or isn't. Even then use of AI is not always a bad thing.

I recently posted a video from La bande-son imaginaire. Which actually made a good use of some of the AI slop generated video. Providing a dreamlike nightmare Lovecraft / cthulin theming. Overall it seems like most people enjoyed it. But some of the very early response was knee jerk overreacting to the use of AI .

Red Moon to me definitely comes off as genuine. And I genuinely enjoyed it which is why I shared it. 😃 As well as listening to it all evening on YouTube music. It's just a bit of a wild surprise when something like that, that quality and volume just sort of pops up out of nowhere. You would have thought you would have heard something of it before. But not everyone can know every artist or group. Discovery is some of the most fun you can have. Right next to sharing.

Came across this while bouncing around the new feed on band camp the other day. Wasn't an artist that I was familiar with. But obviously not a new artist either. As they were doing a massive dump. Basically putting all their work up on band camp, later checking YouTube as well.

Musically if you are familiar, this artist reminds me a lot of the merciful nuns or garden of delight. Absolutely solid goth Rock if it's something you like. Definitely worth taking a look at.
