Pretty much until apps refuse to install, or work properly. That could anywhere between 2 to 5+ years. Ideally, I would recommend upgrading once your device stops receiving security updates. But I’ve seen people still using iPhone 6’s for example.

I have an old Sony Bravia LED TV (Supports Arc) and I have ordered an Apple TV 4k 3rd gen. As I'm new to this device can anyone suggest me which HDMI cable will suit me? in c/apple@hardware.watch

The Amazon Basics hdmi cables are an excellent option. They’re inexpensive, and offer 48Gbps speeds for future proofing.
