At the end of the day we’re both speculating here. The larger point is that unfortunately a lot of this is legal, which is the entire problem. They can get away with this shit without any recourse.

The money is in police detail work And a lot of them are able to do it during their normal shifts. The person probably did legitimately log that many hours or near that many hours, the problem is that they were able to do it in the first place.

I listened to a really interesting podcast the other day about how the current online alpha male culture, the kind we see propagated by Andrew Tate and co, actually emphasizes an incredibly lonely existence. It’s almost hermitical. Whereas masculinity in the 80’s up through the 2000’s or so was about getting rich, partying in incredibly conspicuous ways, and getting laid all the time.

This lambo meme (first part) falls right in line with the Tate mentality for sure. There are people who read that and go “yes, that sounds great.”

The trope of the asshole cyclist is as accurate as the preachy vegan i.e. it’s an unfounded caricature by people who are mad that other people choose a more inconvenient way of interacting in society even though it has very little bearing/impact on them personally.

Yes there are assholes who ride bikes. Yes there are pretentious vegans. But we all know that people pretend that is the default personality and it’s all born of a completely self-inflicted defensive posture

Driving is stressful the entire way even if you’re not actively thinking about it. It is mentally and physically taxing and you’re on guard the entire time - or you die

I should probably have mentioned at some point that I work in film production, so the possibilities with a vehicle like this for me are endless lol Especially given how small it is compared to your standard pick up truck in the US. Can squeeze this thing holding a lot of weirdly shaped shit into a lot of places.

The democrats literally held the presidency until 5mo ago dude lol I agree they’re horribly mismanaged at times and right now they are way off base with their constituents, but to act like they are just some consistently losing party is ridiculous. Almost 2/3 of the country is governed by Democrats. Most Americans are represented by democrats as well.
