It’s so mentally taxing and painful. I just keep trying to tell myself to imagine the outcome if I hadn’t stepped in and that’s what keeps me doing it because each time a foster rescue passes away you just live grief again.

Last friday I noticed he wasn’t eating so I tried to make him some chicken. He wasn’t eating that either so I sent all four of the foster kittens to the vet and turns out they have Parvo pumpkin sadly passed away yesterday. Hoping the others make it 🥺 this is the sad part of rescuing and fostering but the silver lining is at least he got to have some love before he passed away.

That’s always our hope 😭

So these kittens were living in a village and a lady brought them and the mom to the vet. The mom has a pancreatic issue so the lady has taken the mom back and is going to keep her inside but was going to return these four out to the street again which I could not let happen… so I am housing these four who just battled Guardia they are going to be in quarantine for a while in the little playpen and posted pictures up below. My friend is gonna be posting 2 of them for adoption to her many cat groups and hopefully we find some of these guys homes. I’m going to be keeping the white and black cats I’ve named them milk and cookies :)

He is a male! If it was a female I’d keep her indoors for the week to make sure she didn’t hurt the incision. Neutering males is a lot easier if they just kind of pass out in the carrier keep them in there for a day and then run out like nothing happened . Orange girls they are very rare to find. I do have a friend in Toronto that got lucky.

So last night I ended up setting up the trap and around 12 am it closed. I went to go check the trap and something was off those weren’t Breads eyes.. but I couldn’t be 100% sure. See the video below of me questioning my self.

Then this morning while Toast was in the trap who showed up but Lil Bread looking for me to fill the food bowl…

As I mentioned before no one else around me has an orange cat so here’s Toast in the trap ready for the vet.

Toast was checked at the vet no chip. So he was neutered today with the help of a sanctuary near here that’s running their own sterilisation program. So I didn’t have to pay for the neutering, but I did pay €15 for some parasite treatment.

There was $45 Canadian donated to the fundraiser that I started a few days ago and that money has already gone towards a little kitty, think of how much more good can be done with some help.

Here’s a picture of toast now you can see his ears clipped and he’s a little high still.. tomorrow I’ll be releasing him and Sunday I’m going to attempt to catch Bread next!

So there’s a huge stray cat problem and population in Corfu and I’m trying to make a tiny difference. This is the first cat I’ll be trapping myself and releasing. Today my friend‘s mom dropped off a trap and we’re gonna set it up and see what happens. I’ll keep you guys posted

(Edit: edited to say I am sure he is a stray because he doesn’t belong to any of my family which are the only people that live around me and there’s only a main road that you would have to cross to get here and I’ve been feeding him for three months either way, the vet will confirm if he’s microchip or not too. Also, I’m not releasing a randomly I’m going to release them right where he comes to eat. )

Trying to find a spot to watch tv with the fur babies is tight 😂
