My local repair cafe has said that folks are welcome to show up and just learn from the other volunteers. Have you asked your local one if it'd be okay to just hang out?

Jeff found a genie in a bottle / Who said, "I can give you anything you ask. / You can have your wishes three, / And a million more for free. / It's unlimited, just set me to the task."

This song is so catchy!! Honestly, I feel like we all need to take a look at how we're engaging with anarchy and trying to make the world a better place - I mean, the song is from 2007 but we're still seeing people slammed for one reason or another by someone who thinks they're "doing it right" and others aren't. I notice even in myself I have the urge sometimes to criticize friends and prove just how Correct I am... but the truth is, good foundations for a new world are built on understanding and giving folks room to learn, not on criticizing people until they quit.

I've seen so few this year. Everything is so manicured around me and the landlord pays for landscaping/mowing/etc so I can't keep the leaves out for them :C I'll start keeping the porch light off at night though!

I'd never thought about putting zines in a LFL. There's one not even a block from my house so I think I'm gonna fill it up with some of these

Excited to be here! I know basically nothing about foraging and spend very little time in the woods, but I find that people who forage frequently make good friends so I'm looking forward to hanging out.

Whoa, that's a big mushroom!! How does it taste?

My mouth is literally watering right now!! This sounds so delicious. Due to dietary restrictions I eat a lot of chicken but I don't really like it as a meat - I'm wondering what recipes could use mushrooms instead now...

You don't need to inform them...

Do you know of any resources or guides on how to do that fake hotspot? I think it'd be so fun to do a little network-announcements thing.

Not my website! Just a cool thing I encountered. I no longer have periods, but when I did, my flow was incredibly heavy and I spent a lot of money on pads (and of course threw away hundreds of them). I know reusable pads aren't an option for everybody, but they're definitely a great way to reduce waste! Of course, another good option would be buying menstrual underwear etc, but as someone who sews I thought I'd share this for other people who sew <3

(Also you can do cute patterns!)

A few fun facts:

  • Cotton cloth pads smell better because they allow moisture to evaporate (rather than it being trapped in by plastic)
  • You can wash them by hand or just rinse them to throw in with the rest of your clothes
  • Research estimates that people who menstruate use about 11,400 pads in their lifetime

Hope this is helpful for someone!
