Prisoner Support and Solidarity

Post news about individual incarcerated people by including an all-caps tag of the [three-letter country code] at the start of the post and the person's name in bold somewhere in the title to make searching the community easier.

Its a good idea to include information about what organizations are sponsoring them, what forms of solidarity they've requested, and how to send them mail.

There's a prisoner database at Prisoner Solidarity and a list from Solidarity International that are useful for looking up people to correspond with.

Zines

Posts about zines and prison literature to share with friends or mail to prisoners should begin with the tag [Zine], and should link to a page with literature in printable document format or the PDF file itself.

Posts using the tag [Info] are reserved for moderators.

[USA] Statement from Released Defendant

https://dfwdefendants.wordpress.com/2025/10/10/dario-experiences/

At first, my incarceration was the same as everyone else’s. Isolation, in a dirty cell. After my bond was lowered and I was released, they pull a a bait & switch at a hearing to add conditions to my release. They indicted me on a second charge and sent me to jail for labor day weekend. [...]

🇺🇸 [USA] Support Savanna Batten, 1 of the Prairieland Defendants!

Savanna is 1 of 17 people arrested thus far on absurd conspiracy charges after an anti-ICE demo on July 4, 2025. She and her codefendants endure tortuous conditions in #JohnsonCountyJail in #Cleburne #Texas, including solitary confinement and guards reportedly strip searching them up to 3 times a day. With her bond set at $10 million, she has been held in solitary for over 2 months now.

Please share!

We receive and spread:

To spread as much as possible!

To break the isolation to which the anarchist Alfredo Cospito* is subjected through the practically total block of correspondence, we relaunch here the call to send him postcards and letters ... in this period of holiday trips, etc. could come correspondence directed to him from many pleasant locations!

This umpteenth call to write to our partner is also motivated by the updates that come to us from Bancali, since Alfredo evaluates extremely appropriate to continue and increase the sending of correspondence directed to him: even without traceability, even if only postcards with or without sender ... if they arrived in considerable numbers they would give a good commitment to those in charge of blocking the mail.

It was then evaluated that at this time the traceability of the correspondence destined for him is not necessary as long as it has been until now since Alfredo has accumulated more than 30 certified correspondence detentions on which the Supervisory Magistrate must express himself, which, however, is slow to do so (normal as far as Bancali is concerned, according to the lawyer who assists numerous inmates in that institution).

Finally, on the sidelines of the “correspondence” issue, on September 14th there will be a hearing concerning the “judgment of compliance” against the prison of Bancali: it is a procedure in which the magistrate evaluates if the prison is not able to enforce an authorization granted but which is not really made possible. This is Alfredo’s access to the library of the institute, which had been authorized without it being able to benefit from it. If they give reason to Alfredo, the judge will designate another figure different from the prison staff to ensure that the authorization is respected.

We also make our own the proposal of “Initiative in solidarity with Alfredo against the blocking of the mail” formulated by/from the compas of S’Idea Libera di Sassari to further develop to the attempt to jam one of the isolation devices applied to Alfredo: one more opportunity because, after this “summer phase” of sending postcards and letters without coordinated methods, you try to give continuity in the long period of the moment.

INITIATIVE IN SOLIDARITY IN ALFREDO AGAINST THE BLOCK OF THE POST

In relation to the situation of Alfredo's censorship, blocking and isolation in 41a at Bancali, we would like to agree with this proposal for an initiative.

Over time there have been several occasions when, in an individual or organized form, one has tried to break the isolation through correspondence. At this moment, when it seems important to beat the iron constantly, we thought of an initiative that aims to support Alfredo through the correspondence and give him a little continuity to have a certain impact, or try to have it.

The proposal is as follows: any reality, collective or individual, that wants to join, undertakes to send at least 7 postcards to Alfredo in a given week. In this way, the more adhesions there will be, the more we will be able to guarantee a “cover” over time with a certain continuity.

We propose this organizational mode:

  1. individual or collective realities may send their availability to the evaliber2.inventati.org email by September 1.

  2. on the basis of the availability we will throw down a calendar, so each reality will be given a reference week in which to send the postcards / letters to Alfredo.

The address to write to Alfredo is:

Alfredo Cospito
C.C., this is C. “G. Bacchiddu”
Provincial Road 56, No. 4
locality of Banks
07100 Sassari

Let's break the isolation!

Social Space S’Idea Libera (Sassari) AntiRep case of the Western Alps

Alfredo Cospito is an anarchist comrade in prison since 2012. Initially arrested and convicted for the wounding of the CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare, he is now serving a sentence of 23 years in prison issued as part of the “Scripta Manent” trial in which various anarchists and anarchists were accused (and some and some and some even convicted of them). After his assignment to the 41bis prison regime in the spring of 2022, Alfredo undertook a 6-month hunger strike against 41bis and the obstructive life sentence that, thanks also to the energetic international mobilization that accompanied his initiative, brought to the attention of the public the aberration of this prison regime and the sentence to die in prison represented by the obstructive life sentence.

Alfredo is still locked up in the 41bis of Bancali (Sassari), and the renewal of his allocation to this scheme will take place next spring. The purpose of the 41bis is clear: to physically and psychologically annihilate the individuals who end up with it. In the case of Alfredo it is evident a progressive limitation in the already small possibilities of livability established for this prison regime: blocking of correspondence to / from the outside, inability to access the internal library (authorization Alfredo had had from the Direction), blocking of books regularly purchased in the library through the prison (as provided for in the 41-bis regime) and other goods, such as flour or clothing, of daily use.

ps: For those interested*, postcards were printed against the 41bis that can be requested from the email: cassantirepalpi.org

As a solidarity committee for Maja, consisting of Maja's family, friends: women and supporters, we have accompanied the hunger strike of Maja. We are now addressing this call for action to the solidarity movement, the anti-fascist scene, civil society, committed people of the Church and all decent and compassionate fellow human beings.

Antifascist: In June in Maja started a hunger strike in Budapest prison and thus fought for the return to Germany. In July Maja had on 40. Day in the Hungarian prison hospital, the hunger strike broken. Foreign Minister Wadephul had announced shortly before the end of the hunger strike that they wanted to negotiate with Hungary about an improvement in detention conditions. Since then, for more than two months, the detention conditions have not changed. In the prison hospital, Maja is still isolated and there is no prospect of being transferred to house arrest or back to Germany.

Even after the end of the hunger strike, we will not give calm: Maja has to get out of isolation and back home! Every day in Hungarian solitary confinement is a violation of Maja's fundamental and human rights. That's why we call for Saturday, 13. September 2025, to a nationwide day of action for Maja.

We are very pleased when the many great solidarity actions from the time of the hunger strike continue. A few stimulating examples from the summer: the occupation of the Bauhaus University in Weimar, the disturbance of the state parliament session in Dresden, noise demonstrations in front of the state chancellery in Dresden, the occupation of the state parliament in Kiel, the protest camp in front of the Federal Foreign Office, the demonstration for the anniversary of extradition in Jena, nuclear guards in Jena and many other cities, the protest march of Majas father Wolfram to the Federal Foreign Office, and Hungarian office.

Our solidarity is not only Maja. Zaid is acutely threatened by extradition to Hungary, even for the other accused persons, extradition is not excluded. In mid-September, the delivery of the sentencing in the criminal proceedings against Hanna vorm OLG Munich is expected. From this autumn, two other political mammoth trials are against anti-fascists (in front of the Dresden Higher Regional Court and the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court). So many people are sitting in prison. Let us include them in our solidarity actions for Maja!

Join us, plan actions in your cities and write to us 9. September a message with the most important information about your action to our e-mail address: solikomitee-maja-systemli.org.

Solidarity Committee for Maja,

Jena, 21. August 2025

Since the EZLN uprising in 1994, the Mexican state's strategy has been to militarize the region. Currently, there are 3,484 National Guard troops in Chiapas. Ten coordinated barracks have been built in eight regions for the purposes of migratory and territorial containment, as well as organizational processes.

On October 15, 2020, the Tseltal Maya people of Chilón peacefully demonstrated against the construction of a National Guard barracks on their territory, located in northern Chiapas. In the morning, around 300 members of the Municipal Police, the Chiapas State Police, and the National Guard repressed the peaceful protest at the point known as Crucero Temó, on the Ocosingo-Palenque highway.

During the operation, the Tseltal community defenders César and José Luis were arbitrarily deprived of their liberty, followed by torture and ill-treatment; 11 more people were injured. Two and a half hours after their detention, they were presented before the Ocosingo Public Prosecutor's Office, accused of rioting. In the early morning of October 17, César and José Luis were transferred from CERSS No. 16 in Ocosingo to CERSS No. 14 in El Amate in Cintalapa, without prior notification to the defense.

On November 1, after being illegally detained, tortured, and subjected to prosecution, they were released on bail, limited to signing in at the courthouse every two weeks, and restricted from traveling beyond the municipalities of Chilón and Ocosingo.

On March 22, 2021, the Judge of the Judicial Branch of the State of Chiapas dismissed the arguments of human rights violations and torture, admitting evidence obtained through human rights violations. The Public Prosecutor's Office maintained that the injuries suffered by César and José Luis were self-inflicted.

Both human rights defenders are subject to an unfair criminal proceeding that criminalizes the defense of life, framed within the strategy of militarization of Indigenous Peoples' territories.

Jesse WAS an antifascist political prisoner who was incarcerated for allegedly participating in militant community defense against American Guard, Proud Boys, and assorted right-wingers who descended upon the Pacific Beach are of San Diego, Kumeyaay land, for a day-long fascist rally on January 9, 2021. Along with being an unapologetic defender of his community, TC is a nature enthusiast, father, and artist who needs our support after spending nearly two years risking his life fighting fires in so-called LA and throughout so-called California.

Despite the SD DA’s best efforts to keep him caged for his convictions and his refusal to cooperate, TC has been released! Support for our comrades inside doesn’t end when they’re out—and he needs our solidarity now more than ever as he settles back into his city, finds work, and helps raise his kid. Let’s show him some love and remind him how much he means to us.

Please donate and share widely!
