You know how some car companies created custom one-off cars for whatever reason? Well what one-off cars are your favorite? Mine would be the Volkswagen Golf GTI W12-650

We talk a lot about horrid cars that burn up before 100,000 miles (lookin' at you, Theta II!)

And we all know the usual stable of cars that are "safe bets" for somebody looking for something reliable.

But what specific model, generation, and drivetrain choice wins the crown for being the best of the best in terms of longevity, reliability, cost savings, etc.

(this may come as a sacrifice to power, comfort, fuel economy, etc. just pure reliable reliability, especially for the owners who don't take care of their cars)

My opening vote is the first generation Lexus LS400 with the not interference version of the 1UZFE. (I'm biased for this, of course, because I own one.)

Anyone ever owned or seen one of these? Cheers!

Bringing that basket full of tasty treats, wallet-busters, crusty critters, daily drivers, barn finds, and four-wheeled gems in the rough, week after week.

Every time I see some cheesy crime drama or action movie from the late 1970s to late 1990s, it often occurs to me that a slightly beat up early to mid 1970s Ford LTD seems like exactly the right car for a burned out veteran police detective, down-on-his-luck petty career criminal, or low-level mobster to be driving. I don't know why, but for some reason that pairing of vehicle and driver has always remained stuck in my head.

What do you guys think?

Video here

This is absolutely insane for the racing history buffs. About 20 engines and even lots of the tooling used for producing the parts for them as well as a literal warehouse room of brand-new and used parts. Also has all the paperwork tracking each and every engine.

Some additional info and history of the XD engine here

I keep seeing articles about how the new Mustang is selling poorly and how the Mach-E is selling better. Should we be worried about this? Could the Mustang be discontinued altogether if sales don't improve?

Not my video but B Sport has dropped a new video about the Phaeton.

This car came out 22 years ago... It was a technological marvel for the better or worse, and I'm still amazed by it until this day.

"A ride on the Shinkansen through Japan, a ballpoint pen, and an envelope..."

The title is a little off putting. We should give credit to the entire team, what a phenomenal legacy.

Top notch review as always, plus a bonus interview via potato with a tuner to talk about the potential of the platform.
