The Camry-esque look at the front, and to an extent the rear, came second to the GR GT’s aerodynamics, which is the opposite way to how Toyota usually styles its cars. It’s built around a highly rigid aluminum frame—Toyota’s first, apparently—with carbon fiber for the hood, roof, and some other body panels to minimize weight. The automaker says that lowering the car’s center of gravity was a top priority, and weight balance and distribution also help explain the transaxle layout, where the car’s transmission is behind the cockpit and between the rear wheels.

I thought it looked neat

Neurosurgeon analyses Waymo’s data on 100M miles of driverless travel, concludes that it’s dramatically, qualitatively safer (at least the way that Waymo does it). Says if this were a clinical trial they’d stop it because giving placebos would be unethical.

I need brake upgrades for a 2012 Honda pilot. The local twisty road is quite hilly and I can be hard enough on the brakes to get fade from the OE brakes. They seem to have shit themselves after a recent drive. I asked for pad recommendations and was told Hawk Performance, EBC Bluestuff, Porterfield r4-s, or akebono euro are good options. I was unable to find those for my car. If any internet stranger could find some in a size that fits, that would be awesome, but I would also be open to other suggestions. I also would like fluid and rotor recommendations. I don't want drilled rotors, would consider slotted. I'm hoping to not dump tons of cash on this, as I'm trying to save for a better car as the long term plan. Thanks in advance!

Trump saw diminutive cars on a recent visit to Asia. Now, he wants them in the States.

I am one of the last people to sing him any praise, but it would be great if this actually happens.

[Transportation] Secretary Duffy looked rather surprised during the briefing in the White House, but did not waver from Trump’s stance.

Looks like this is another one of those things he blurted out without talking to anyone else about it.

I bought this truck used and it has aftermarket headlights I am fed up with. They look cool but constant issues with electronics and also the housing scratched so easily that it makes the truck look cheap.

Should I replace them with OEM or is there actually a good aftermarket option for headlights?

In the last few years, car headlights seem to be much worse with glare. I don’t know if people no longer turn down their high beams, or if it’s raised trucks or aftermarket bulbs, or just shitty car design but it’s getting much tougher to see at night. And my teens complain more, so it’s not just me getting old

I’m looking for a way to improve my nighttime safety without adding to the problem.

Does anyone have experience with aftermarket LED bulbs for fog lights? Are they enough brighter to help see the road in the glare of oncoming high beams, while being enough lower to not just blind other drivers?

It's easy to convince EDC people to buy EDC things. But how do you convince non-EDC folks to buy your product? Simple: Fear. The global "car escape tool market," according to market research firm Data Insights Market, is valued at $500 this year, projected to grow 7% a year and

I'm going to be selling my car in the coming weeks as it's in its sunset years and will be getting a new one. One wisdom I have though is around my dashcam. Obviously I'll be taking it from my old car and putting it in my new one, but the thing is, it's stuck to the windscreen with the M3 adhesive tape that came with it. I've looked online and removing it should be as simple as heating the adhesive strip with a hairdryer, but I was wondering, can I reuse the adhesive strip, or will I need to get another one? For context, it's been stuck to my windscreen for around 6 months, so not sure what state the adhesive will be in.

Joint project between my girlfriend and I, we just got the transmission to behave right this weekend.

A 2gr-fe is a strange choice, but it really wakes up an old luxury car.

This thing is fucking ridiculous lol.

He mostly fixes domestic trucks but gets japanese cars sometimes too. He rarely takes jobs on euro cars.

Can you recommend a "professional" grade code scanner?

I want to buy this for him for xmas so hoping to not break my wallet too much here.

Any thoughts on the scanners on aliexpress etc? Not opposed to chinese stuff, just needs to be simple enough for an older guy to use and be up to date for most common newer vehicles.

He is pretty comfortable with using his android phone - could we get same functionality and save a bunch of money buying something that works with a smartphone instead of a tablet style scanner?

Canada here, btw, if that detail means anything.
