Growing infosec.pub (self.infosecpub)
submitted 2 years ago by 0xCBE to c/infosecpub

@jerry@infosec.pub I took the liberty to promote this instance a bit here, the post is this one.

I'd like to help growing a community, is there anything we could do?

Is there a way to enforce certain templates on submissions within a community?

I was fighting a holy crusade against content marketers on r/cloudsecurity and I required to have submission statements. Is there a way to do something similar on here?

Should I implement a bot of some sort?

Basically the title. I’m here from the Reddit exodus but I’ve been on mastodon before. But I’m not sure what happens when an instance goes offline or goes down, will I have to make a new account on a different instance instead? Do I lose all my data? Thank you :)

Hey everyone. I just joined and am a current member over at infosec.exchange. Is there any good way to leverage Mastodon in Lemmy, or visa-versa?

I've tried a few times to search for [!sysadmin@discuss.tchncs.de](/c/sysadmin@discuss.tchncs.de), which seems to be the right way to find remote communities and the two servers should be federated with each other. I'm getting no results. Am I doing something wrong?

I subscribed to !localllama@sh.itjust.works and while posts show, all of them show 0 comments.

If I go to https://sh.itjust.works/c/localllama it shows all posts having comments.

I've just come from the reddit exodus and I'm looking around for some documentation or info on the privacy & security on infosec.pub and/or lemmy as a platform - how our logins are stored and whether data is accessible by developers / other parties.

Does anyone know where I can find more information on this? (Or if not could you shed some light)

This platform seems incredibly promising and I'm sick of reddit's ways now, but i want to read up before I fully commit. Many thanks!

(Edit - sorry if this isn't an appropriate place for this by the way, just seemed a sensible community to put it in!)

Just wanted to say thank you for putting this Instance up. It seems lightning fast and I had no trouble logging in, unlike almost all the other Lemmy instances I tried during this mass Reddit exodus.

Really appreciate you @jerry@infosec.exchange!

Hi!

I'm trying to get a better understanding of the longer term reliability of this instance. Is there any kind of about page or similar where I can read up on how it's setup, financed, managed etc?
