Newest addition to my collection. Wanted a diver and have been looking at the Pelagos for a while. When visiting my AD, found this one LNIB for a good deal, so I couldn’t pass it up!

I just love this watch.

Here’s a quick video of the inner rotating bezel on this watch.

To engage, the upper pusher ring is pressed in and rotated bi-directionally. Turning the pusher ring without pressing in doesn’t engage the bezel.

Hello, I thought I would contribute to the community by posting a photo of my Sarb033.

The watch comes in a great size, with decent finishing, water resistance, and power reserve. And even with a few drawbacks like the lack of micro-adjustments in the clasp and lack of AR coating in the crystal, I think you can't go wrong with this watch if you're looking at a great overall daily wearer - especially if you can get it at a decent price.

My first automatic watch. I remember buying it right before it shot up in popularity after that legendary Hodinkee article which lead to it running out of stock practically everywhere for almost a year. It truly deserves all the hype. A beautiful, sophisticated & versatile watch that will forever have a special place in my collection.

Picked up a titanium bracelet and bezel kit in the recent AliExpress sale. I previously had a steel bezel + bracelet on this watch. While the bracelet and case are very well made it feels bizarre to have such a chunky watch feel about the same weight as the original resin parts! The original resin watch weighed about 50g. The new bracelet and bezel are 65g, so even with the module it's only a few g more heavy than the original.

My first non-smart watch that's more than $20. I picked it up from Retro Watch Guy and have been really impressed with the simplicity of a manual, analog watch.

The design mimicks old parking meters and there's a continuous 60 minute timer that you can reset with the top button.

What are your thoughts? I definitely would have to see the shades of blue in person, but that easter egg on the deep sea is super cool!

I've been looking for a decent colour-face watch that will look good as a more "dressy" watch for special occasions. It'll be my second big watch purchase.

This one caught my eye as, being from Nottinghamshire myself, I like the design and the fact that it pays subtle homage to the city.

Obviously it's a new microbrand, but it's got some good reviews (see here for example) and some nice specs - a Miyota 9039 Automatic movement and a double-dome sapphire crystal.

What do you guys think? Any words of caution/encouragement?

Build quality is great (especially for $55 on the recent AliExpress sale). I asked them to swap out the hand set for one with an orange minute. It looks great but the lume on the hands is weak.

Pros:

  • decent jubilee with great end link fitment
  • good dial and date window alignment

Cons:

  • slightly misaligned bezel alignment
  • weak hand lume

There's a titanium jubilee and case coming out soon. I considered this a test run and I am happy enough with it to grab the titanium version when it is released.

This was my first automatic watch, and my entry into the world of affordable watch collecting. I really like the high legibility of the dial and the slightly domed sapphire that curves the light just a bit

I got the bracelet properly sized and I'm glad it's an option, but I always keep coming back to Milanese mesh for the comfort and ease of adjustment. Doesn't look too bad either from where I'm standing.

My wife purchased this for my kids to give me for Father's Day. She saw me looking at similar ones and went off and found this guy. I don't know much about it yet, but if anybody else does I would love to hear. It was an eBay purchase and arrived in good shape but a little dirty, so I had my watch guy clean it up a little for me. I just got it back this week and I think it came out spectacular.

Went to the Johnson Space Center in Houston today and found a few Speedmaster’s on display. Here is one on one of the space suits. Another one I found was Sally Ride’s, the first US woman in space! I currently don’t have a Speedmaster, but these definitely make it tempting to have another look at them.
