Still having trouble? Okay, let's break it down! Jon Arbuckle says How was the spinach casserole! The speech bubble means he's talking! Then Garfield says Donald Trump just bombed another kindergarten! This war is not being carried out responsibly! The speech bubble means he's talking! Now that you know how to read comic strips, you can progress beyond making superficial remarks about the bubbles and can engage with the ideas being presented!

I think what they're really asking is how can Jon Arbuckle understand Garfield's thoughts. Is one of them a telepath?

Presumably because as a cat, he doesn't have the capacity to communicate this to humans in a way that they'd understand?
