That's offensive to me cause I come from Ohio. But imma choose not to be offended and say "Go Buckeyes!!!"

And not everyone that comes from Ohio is a furry. (Me being a furry and also from Ohio does not support my case here) And Ohio's not as crazy as it's portrayed in the media. All of the trolls and hags and witches that live here are chill. And the faeries, unicorns and dragons. And sure, the water may turn to liquid gold once in a while, but really. Besides the sudden change in gravity on the 3rd Wednesday of the month of the Hollow Moon, and the fact that if you say anything remotely rude or insincere to a witch you'll most likely die, and that the giant Lake Monster (or, I guess river monster) of Wabash River will force you to wear a dress and attend his tea party if you take so much as one fish from his river, it's not that bad. Really. We're not on drugs

And then everyone stood up and clapped ...

[–] Damorte@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago

Still hilarious though, albeit not as hilarious as Kirks final performance of bigotry but close enough

I started doing this a while ago– misgendering people who claim pronouns shouldn’t matter. It’s amazing how important they suddenly become to conservative guys when you start calling them ‘she’.

Like wait, it hurts your feelings when I refer to you as ‘she’? Is that… disrespectful of your gender identity?? 😱

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 7 hours ago

I've said it before, and I'm sayin' it again:

I like you, Lilly. We need more like you.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 103 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

I've started replying to redpillers redpilling their unsolicited opinions on women's posts with "you sound fat". Results have been hilarious

‘Your lips are really thin. Makes you look kinda severe. Have you considered Botox?’

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 21 points 19 hours ago (3 children)

replace severe with something else, they consider that shit a compliment. "Weirdly unfinished" is a good go to.

Weirdly unfinished is fucking crazy xD
I wasn't sure I agreed until I read that.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 11 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Weak works best or frail maybe.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 6 points 17 hours ago

oooooh thems good words

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 8 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, it’s not a compliment.

These are all things I’ve actually heard from real guys. In real life, not online.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 11 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

its not a compliment for a woman.

these guys live in weird binaries. Weaponise the shit outta it.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 4 points 8 hours ago

I think my lips look fine. These guys seem obsessed with Mar-a-Lardo face.

[–] hateisreality@lemmy.world 10 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Hey you....(Insert Navy SEAL copy pata, or anything from shittymorph)

[–] johnyreeferseed@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

God damn I miss shittymorph, haven't thought about that in forever.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 3 points 8 hours ago

We need a shittymorph here on Lemmy.
Which server would be best for them?

I think about Charlie Kirk like how I think about Rush Limbaugh. Not often, but with a smile on my face.

[–] IntrovertTurtle@lemmy.zip 10 points 16 hours ago

Fuck man, you just reminded me how satisfying it was when that shit peddler ate it. Grandma had him on the radio all. The. Time. Now she listens to his replacement, who also cannot die soon enough.

[–] evidences@lemmy.world 23 points 19 hours ago

Throat cancer took Rush from us which is a shame because if he would have gotten a different cancer he could have died way earlier.

Pretty sure he believed in political violence already

[–] Pricklesthemagicfish@reddthat.com 33 points 17 hours ago (1 children)
[–] yakko@feddit.uk 98 points 1 day ago

If I pulled that off without cracking up, I'd feel ten feet tall for a week.

[–] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 39 points 22 hours ago

Kirk fans are also huge fans of political violence just targeted at the "right groups".

I'm kind of okay with bleeding heart liberal, and also pretty okay with bleeding neck conservative.

Does intentionally antagonizing people like this actually lead to positive outcomes?

[–] BillCheddar@lemmy.world 37 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Yes, it does.

It helps to understand that your target isn't the bigoted asshat you mock. You're gonna lose him because he was already lost.

Your targets are everyone else reading along, now or later.

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 7 hours ago

Your targets are everyone else reading along, now or later.

This is why i argue and don't block, in a nutshell.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 24 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

Holy shit yes. Thank you for saying this.

This is important to remember in most public conversations, especially online. It especially helps to keep you grounded and prevent you from getting bent.

You’re not arguing with a person, you’re performing to an audience. Talk to the people listening, not to the dipshit trying to rile you up.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 67 points 1 day ago

well, not doing it hasn't led to results, let's try this for a while and see what happens.

[–] mycodesucks@lemmy.world 42 points 23 hours ago

They don't see your refusal to stoop to their level as some kind of enlightened position - they see it as a weaker person kowtowing to their strength. The only reason these horrible people were under control for so long was because they believed progressive voices were unstoppably stronger and willing to use that strength. They won't go away until they believe that again.

[–] totally_human_emdash_user@piefed.blahaj.zone 59 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Does personal amusement count?

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 8 points 16 hours ago

Yes. Very much so.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 26 points 22 hours ago

It's not antagonising.

They literally got where they are because no one told them they're fucking idiots, their opinions are shit, unacceptable and they need to stfu. They think it's silent assent. Put the cunts back down where they belong.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 25 points 1 day ago

They’re intentionally antagonising us first. Turnabout is fair play.

Also, I would only recommend doing this online or in a large group where they either can’t physically hurt you or they won’t because you have backup. In my experience, this can set people off, yeah.

[–] madjo@piefed.social 6 points 18 hours ago

No but those people are lost causes anyway. There's literally no point in trying to convince them how wrong they are.

[–] notthebees@reddthat.com 7 points 1 day ago

Only if they do it to other people and being purposefully dense. Sometimes it's okay to fight fire with fire. Time, place, occasion

[–] Mika@piefed.ca 1 points 21 hours ago

I really doubt this whole situation isn't just made up tbf

[–] bear@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 day ago

Tbf, that is a weird ass mascot.
