Before talking about what I played this week, I think I forgot to mention a game I played couple of weeks ago.

After finishing Judgment, and seeing that Dark Souls (next game in my list) isn't on sale yet, I started Bioshock Infinite. I had played the first Bioshock but never got around to playing Infinite.

The visuals felt like late PS3 games, specially the camera and movement, but it didn't feel that jarring, specially after couple of mins of playing it, didn't notice that again during the whole game.

The game was beautiful, the gameplay and shooting was fun. And the story was "Bioshocky". As someone who didn't like the first Bioshock too much (I blame Rapture for that, just not my kind of place), I loved Bishock Infinite.

There are some lore elements that connects it to the first game, so you'll enjoy the background story more if you know that, but you can easily play it without that. Not a very long game too, I think took somewhere between 10-15 hours.

Highly recommended to those who like shooters and haven't played it yet.

Now to this week!

Finally started Dark Souls Remastered have been meaning to play it for the last few months but always end up starting something else.

I have said this about soulslike games before, but the game isn't that tough. You just have to be deliberate about your actions, and can't just button mash through everything. Also, the game doesn't tell you half the things, you have to experiment to figure those things out, and you die, many times, but you also die in other games, I have died many times in Ratchet & Clank and they aren't considered that difficult. Oh and just to be clear, it's by no definition an easy game, but I think the difficulty is over-hyped.

Anyways, have been playing only Dark Souls since I got it, the only place where I got stuck was the Bell Gargoyle boss, died more than a dozen times, then my friend suggested to go to another area first before coming back to boss, so doing that and leveling up, and getting a better weapon / equipment made killing the boss much easier.

Have taken care of pretty much all the surface stuff now and have entered Blightdown. Ended last session when I reached the bottom, got poisoned and died with over 12K souls! Let's hope I can reach it when I play next.

Didn't really play anything else. Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Hyrle Warriors: Age of Calamity and Cozy Grove all are on temporary hiatus.

Played a bit of Mutant Mudd Collection, mainly in bite sized times, which are usually reserved for Picross. Each "world" has 4 levels, I think I was in 2-1 before, and have reached 4-4 now. I can only see 5 worlds in the current screen, but no idea how many screens this hub world has.

The disappearing platforms are the most annoying aspect yet, but I think that's only because they removed the limit of 5 mins from each level. I play slowly killing everything, so take more than that sometimes, even when I do clear it before that, it's only because I don't have to worry about any time limit, I doubt I would have cleared them if I had to try to go fast so that I can reach end before time.

Having fun with it. It's pretty good for those small-breaks.

What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

Started the next route in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, which is the second / hidden route in Black Eagle route. Already have a separate save at the fork point, so continued with that.

It's interesting to see the different point of view of things, and now that I have some experience with game mechanics I am trying out different classes for some of the characters. The fork point is far enough in the game that drastic changes won't be possible, but still, some changes can be done, and it's fun exploring that.

Started Mutant Mudd Collection on Switch, for the times when Age of Calamity becomes too repetitive and want to play something else.

It's a 2D platformer which was originally released on 3DS and the game is tough! You have to complete each level at least twice, one is the main path, and one is the alternate, more difficult path. I am having trouble enough with normal path so not sure if I'll be able to handle the difficult paths.

The difficultly is still within my playable range, even though I die a ton at certain places. Let's see how long I stick with it.

Played a bit of Hyrle Warriors: Age of Calamity and am having trouble with some of the Timed missions, may have to level up some more, will try them again later.

Didn't play much Cozy Grove this week, will get back to slowly chipping away at it from next week.

I haven't started anything on PlayStation cause I wanted to start Dark Souls Remastered and was waiting for a sale (as per dekudeals it regularly does go to sale).

And as it happens, it just went on sale! So just bought the game and have downloaded it. Will probably be playing it over the weekend. Time to see if I can finish it or it will be another game that I'll be dropping halfway through 😀

[S]ince launch back in June, we've seen reports of players having issues with wired internet connections. Some point to the Realtek port as the culprit, others think it's a specific firmware or software glitch, or a USB-C-related handshake issue where something periodically goes awry. But whatever the reason, there seems to be a group for whom Switch 2's Ethernet port just isn't functioning correctly.

Finished Fire Emblem: Three Houses 's DLC story !

I didn't like the story much, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't up to the main game standard, though from my experience, DLC stories are generally like that. Some of the battles also felt needlessly long, but that could just be me.

This unlocks all DLC characters (4 in total) and their classes (again, 4) in main game, though it requires special seal for certification, haven't looked up where to get that from yet.

Finsihed Judgment!

Fun game! The story was pretty interesting, and the gameplay elements and story were different enough from Yakuza games to stand on their own two feet.

The map felts small, not sure why that is, possibly cause there were much less side activities, but I could be wrong about that. Another issue could be we haven't been limited to Kamurocho for whole game since Yakuza 2, IIRC. Not saying this a bad thing, just something I noticed.

My biggest issue with the game is side stories. Pretty much all of them end up with you either following someone, or chasing someone, if not both. Which gets repetitive very quickly. Another issue is that most of the side stories themselves repeat. Many of the side stories have 3 parts. You do a side story, the later you get another side story which is repeat of that one, then later you get another which is a repeat but you get the conclusion.

When nearing the end, after Chapter 10-11, I stopped doing the side stories and just focused on the main story.

Started Cozy Grove. It's a cozy game, and is often mentioned as something like Animal Crossing, though it feels very different.

You go to island to help ghosts move on, except there are a lot more ghosts than originally expected.

The game works in real time (though you can make it perpetual day in setting), and you can only do certain amount of things in a day. I haven't checked the time but I don't think it takes more than 15-30 mins a day. Apparently it takes more than 2 months of daily playing to finish the main story.

Mainly started it cause I won't have to dedicate much time to it, and can just play it slowly at side.

Playing this on Switch 2, cause there are some performance issues on Switch 1, specially as the game progresses.

Also played a bit of Hyrle Warriors: Age of Calamity, but not much, so nothing to say about this.
