I work in Marketing and management. My current laptop (2017 MacBook Pro) is dying so I am planning for a new one! Below are my expectations from my new laptop-

-Decent battery
-Can do basic video and graphic editing (nothing high-end editing)
-Shouldn't cost me too much
-8hrs a day will be usage timing, so will I require fans?

Please help me select a Mac, thanks.

So I just traded in my 13 PRO MAX to a 15 pro max. I never had an issue with notifications coming in on my 13. I always had it on silent and was able to have that buzz go off on every notification. Now on my 15 I have it on silent still and I do not receive any notifications. I checked to make sure my vibrate is on but even with it on it won’t have notifications come through. Some of them are kind of important. Others I could care less. Any info is greatly appreciated!

But they won’t have the 15 pro max in stock until after Christmas, only the 15 plus so;

TL;DR: Would it be worth getting the 15 plus now, or should I wait another 5+ months and get the 15 pro max (im surviving on an XS plus rn).

So I got my iPhone 15 pro on launch day and I’ve loved almost everything about it. Except when I am the phone with someone and I put them on speaker, their voice will randomly echo back to them. It happens when I’m holding it, when I set it down, with a case, without a case, with good cell service and without. It’s happened since I got the phone and it’s extremely frustrating. I was hoping it would get fixed with an update, but nothing yet.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

In the Apple Watch app on my iPhone, under 'Workout', Heart rate zones and max and resting heart rate values are not updating automatically on the first of every month. It says that they should.

Over the past five months, I've gone from doing very little exercise to doing lots since I'm training for a marathon. I feel like my fitness levels have increased astronomically in this time, but the maximum heart rate and heart rate zones haven't moved at all. This can't be right.

In the first screenshot, you can see that it's saying that my max heart rate is 177bpm, but if I go to the Health app, you can see from the second screenshot that my heart rate during workouts has been up to 195.

Any advice on how to force an update would be much appreciated.

Hey, I just bought a new Hisense U7K for my new house and I'm really loving it so far for gaming and movies. Watching sports could be better though, I feel like.

Im watching NFL games on the Fubo app. My question is if I bought an appletv would the picture quality from it be significantly better then streaming apps directly from the smart TV os (google)?

When I search up a word in the search messages, all the texts that I sent come up as blue except with one person. All of my texts that I sent (in the preview) show up as green. But once I click on the message and it opens up our chat, my messages are blue. And when I sent the messages, they were all blue. And the other person and I both had wifi and date and iPhones.

Why is this?

Hi Apple TV community, I'm an outsider coming from Fire TV land. Last week Amazon sent out an update that enabled ads on the home screen that automatically play loud, full screen videos of Prime and HBO+ content that you have to dismiss to get to your home page. Just got off the phone with customer service and the best they could do is change my setting so the full screen ads are now static and muted.

There aren't many things in this world I find more irritating than advertisements, and I have zero tolerance for them in my home. After some brief research I've come to the conclusion that Apple TV is as close as it gets to an ad-free streaming device, with the only offence being some banner that can be disabled in settings.

Now I have these Amazon devices I spent hundreds of dollars on that were great for years, but one forced update ruined them. I like what I've learned about the Apple TV and I don't mind spending some money again to get into a new ecosystem, but I don't want to get caught off-guard again in a year or two.

We know Apple's stance on privacy which I like about the brand, but do they follow similar principles regarding ads? I guess my question is: have they ever announced anything along the lines of "we'll never put ads on your Apple TV"? Apple TV's the last plug & play solution I know of before I have to look into building a streaming device which I'd hate to waste time on.

TL/DR: Should I get rid of my Amazon devices and get into the Apple ecosystem purely for the purpose of never seeing ads again? Thanks guys for reading and commenting.

My wife shares her period data with me via the iPhone Health app. I think if I checked it more often, I would be able to better understand her moods. But I struggle to remember to check the app.

Are there any widgets I can put on my home screen that can make this easier? Alternatively, is it possible to set up push alerts related to period tracking - like "hey, it's been 20 days since the last period ended; be prepared"?

I really wonder why apple hasn’t added multi functionality to action button. They should add a way to set more than one action to it by double or triple pressing it. To me it’s just like the normal switch that was on previous models but i just have to press and hold it now

why in the world would the default setting for alarms to be played through headphones/bluetooth instead of the phone instead? god forbid anyone use bluetooth headphones when they fall asleep because you will wake up with severe hearing damage if you also use your phone for alarms. Not only did the "people" at Apple make alarms default to the headphones, which is absolutely moronic, but it plays at max volume regardless of what your headphone volume is set to on the phone.

Really strange one that I’m experiencing. I’ve got a Samsung Tv and Soundbar which randomly, no matter what source I’m watching, will switch to the Soundbar source (hdmi 2 which is earc). It’s really annoying because I have to then manually switch back to the source I was watching. HDMI 2 is not a source in the sources list which you can manually choose. I figured out I can trigger this bug manually by switching the atmos option in the sound settings on the tv.

Now for the weird part, this only happens when my Apple TV is plugged in to the tv, even if it’s not the source I’m watching. If I remove the hdmi connection for the Apple TV, this bug doesn’t happen. Things that I’ve tried,

Factory reset of tv

Turning off match content on Apple TV

Turning of control tv and sound system from Apple TV

Turning off Atmos on Apple TV

Changing HDMI cable and port the Apple TV is plugged into.

my office wi-fi

Simply relying on the iPhone's signal indicator is not helpful. I need to visualize the entire Wi-Fi network, identifying both weak and strong spots. I found free app to create WiFi heatmaps in my office https://apps.apple.com/us/app/netspot-wifi-map-speed-test/id1490247223. It does the job, but I'm wondering if there's a better way to get more precise WiFi coverage measurements and export them to PDF? This app does not have any export features. My boss is really keen on reports. I've also heard that iPhones can't perform this kind of measurement properly without additional hardware. Is that true?

Is it better to let the Apple TV match the frame rate or let my TV handle the different Hz?

I came from an android phone and switching to apple my first btw, and I'm very excited because I'm having it delivered tomorrow, so I noticed that it has a glass back, and I don't want it to break when I drop it accidentally one day (hope not) so my main question is, do I need a rear tempered glass cover, if I'm buying a case anyways?

Copy and paste doesn’t work either when ai try adding a logo.

Another newcomer from Android. I just got the iPhone 13 and while it's taking me time getting used to it, I'm managing, except from one thing. Is there any way to get the preview widget as it was on Android? It drives me nuts to actually have to get in the app or slide down to read the notifications.

Hi. I have an Apple TV 4K, the first generation, I think, from early 2018. I use Netflix on it a lot. Lately, when I start a movie or episode, the TV will suddenly shut off in a couple of seconds. I turn the TV back on (using the Apple TV remote) and start the show again. The TV shuts off again. This will repeat 3 or 4 times until it finally stays on for the whole show. Anybody know why this happens, and is the problem with the Apple box or the TV itself? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I wanted to update my apple watch 6 to watchos 10 with my iphone 8 but it says you should update your iphone first to IOS 17, as iphone 8 got it's last update to ios 16 how should i update my watch? Iphone is my secondary phone and it's really strange apple doing this.

Hi folks! I’m new to iPhone. I really like the haptic feedback of the keyboard but I don’t want it at night. Is there a way to do it (with or without a shortcut) so that it automatically turns off after 10 pm or so?

I have a 3 year old iPhone SE that was working perfectly until I upgraded the iOS to 17.11. I tried to reboot several times. It helps for a while, but then slows again after a while.

So I bought a refurbished iPhone 13 on Back Market as i’ve seen a lot of positive reviews about it, the phone hasn’t arrived yet, but after buying it I made a more in depth research and found the other side of the coin; the negative reviews on that page, which has me worried, I seen the reviews of the person I bought the phone to and it seems that based on these reviews it is very probable that my iphone will come with non genuine Apple parts like the battery or the screen, Im mostly worried about the long term performance and health of these parts if they’re not from apple. I’m new to buying refurbished so I don’t know if it’s normal for these phones to have non official apple parts since i’ve heard there are some official parts that u can’t even get if u don’t buy them directly from apple. Anybody has had a good experience with a refurbished iphone that marks non genuine parts? or should I give it back as soon as I see the non genuine parts alert? I’m mostly trying to see if it’s normal or it’s something to be avoided. Thanks in advance.
