Hello everyone, I'm a long time veteran of FFXIV and absolutely have no idea how to find communities for my interests on Lemmy aside from doing this! Just kind of stumbling around in the proverbial internet darkness looking for other Warriors of Light I can talk glam, housing, and lore with.

I started raiding in Eden's Verse so I don't have a ton of experience compared to others. I will say I think as a single tier Anabaseios is the one I've enjoyed the most. 11 is a bit lame and I'm still not a huge fan of body checks, but I absolutely loved 9/10/12. Abyssos was alright, I loved 5 and 8. Asphodelos was kinda meh overall. What did you all think about it?

P9s has 2 main strats for lc1 and it looks like jp strat is taking over pf (at least on European servers).

I wanted to share this YouTuber's exploration of FFXIV as someone coming into the game completely blind and fairly new to gaming in general. This is his newest video, however, I've been following Saturn's progress since his first (and I encourage anyone interested to go back and look through his archives).

It's been fascinating to see what's been stumbling blocks and pain points for him, as well as seeing what he enjoys, discovers, and questions. As a long-time player, I think it reminds me just how much learning goes into playing our MMO. It's also a reminder that I should continue to be patient with our sprouts - you never know what thing might seem simple to you that's so difficult for them!

I wonder if reddit's ffxiv community decide to move to this community here or somewhere else and what the plans are, because it looks like an indefinite blackout. Probably most are on Discord, but still wondering about all of this.

Personally I would love a Corsair/Pirate themed job that uses a cutlass/pistol combo. Sort of an inverse Red Mage where you go melee to build up a gauge and then jump back to to a ranged burst. Also I don't think we have enough Pirate aesthetics in the game at higher levels. I think it would also slot nicely into using Scouting gear alongside Ninja.
