When the expansion announcement dropped and I read this line: "Elite specializations are back! Influences from members of the Tyrian Alliance bring new ways to play each of our nine professions" I immediately thought, cool, theyre racial-themed. Checking the founding members of the Alliance, theres 10, so we need to ignore one to fit 9 classes, most probably the mages imo, but here they are, what are your predictions for the remaining influences?

  • Sylvari | Troubadour
  • Lion's Arch
  • Charr | Luminary
  • Kryta
  • Cantha
  • Asura
  • Norn
  • Elona
  • Tengu | Galeshot
  • Wizards

Thief got it on HOT with Daredevil, Mirage got it on POF with Mirage and Revenant got it on EOD with Vindicator.

With the new trailer and blogpost basically confirming guardian and ranger not getting it and the wishful thinking of them not repeating the shtick for the same profession, we still have 4 specs to try and guess. My bets are on engi. No reason, just blind faith.

Just want to quickly send my love to whoever wrote the new spec's lore, flavor and theming. These are EXCELLENT. They fit so well in the world of modern Tyria.

And also, what a good little showcase video. The editing was top notch.

I'm impressed, you guys did such a good job.

I'm playing only mechanist for whole year now and i would love if my mecha could have different skin or at least change colors so i can match it with my outfit.

I would pay for that.

I’ve never really played a real MMORPG since most always either felt extremely dated with so much “you had to be there”, expensive subscriptions, pay to win aspects, or 10 expensive dlcs that were mandatory to have any fun (looking at you ESO, WoW, and Destiny). Had zero clue this game existed somehow but after seeing some discussions where people said this was currently the best MMO with the best combat etc. and that it’s been alive for around a decade I have a few questions:

  1. Is this game solo friendly? - Doubt I could get any friends to play but would be willing to join a guild if that’s a thing
  2. Is it beginner friendly? - A lot of games nowadays feel like if you weren’t there from the beginning then you haven’t really played the game.
  3. Are the dlc required? - Played Destiny for a bit and for a game that claims to be free, that requires 10 different $30-$40 dlc to be fun according to most.
  4. Is this game still alive? - Been a few times where I’ve joined an old game and it just died out within months or felt empty, so is this game still getting new people frequently or is it all just veterans now in late game areas I’ll never see?
  5. Last one I promise - How player cooperative is this? - Is it more like a single player experience and you occasionally see other people or do you frequently find people to travel and adventure with?

Seriously, how did we go this whole expansion and NOT get a peep from the literal Eye of Janthir??

The White Mantle story is well and truly closed now. Mursaat story is basically concluded. Titans' story is kinda-sorta brought to a wobbly close.

The Eye of Janthir has no conceivable reason to return again at this point. I.e., we're likely never gonna get a conclusion to this mysterious artefact and what's going on with it.

So please, spitball and brainstorm your theories! Come up with something that we can all bring closure for ourselves with, 'cause ArenaNet [as much as I love them] certainly won't be.

I LOVE this guy. and I am now creating a new character , but I chose the urchin background instead of my usual noble background choice, and I want to know - will he still appear throughout the story(not the personal story. I mean, the living world and expansions etc)

It's a deal breaker for me. I might create the character from scratch again just for him to appear in my campaign.

Large scale fights are the fastest rewards in the game mode. Welcome to wvw I love this game mode (rank 10k ultimate dominator 3).

Out side of the wizards vault / rush achievements, capturing objectives give minimal rewards.

Playing support will actually give you much higher/ faster rewards than dps. Due to boon sharing/ tagging mechanics.

Easy builds that will net you lots of loot while being useful to your team. Also, if your running these builds, groups may be more open to you joining them.

Firebrand, your not a healer. Your a boon support/ stun breaker. https://gw2skills.net/editor/?PWwAYd7lRwEZcMMmJmsX7vNA-DWJYjR9/hkmCITpQMjAd9aIEhZ7/Wa/SDA-w

Druid, you are a healer and the ability to swing a fight using spirit res. Provides large amounts of healing using karakosa relic, and large amounts of cleansing. https://gw2skills.net/editor/?POwEYKNssC2CLhhwIxyVyrVWir3D-DWJYjRNfhEUBkZKUdE471hSEg9wbp9NLA-w

Chronomancer. You are a boon support, and off healer. This is a cookie cutter build, but if not paried with another stab source may need to take mental defense/ precog. https://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiwAQx3lZwUYWsKWJe0TqtUA-DWJYjR9/pEkQITVQ1S0YGU66EQICzu/t0%20mFA-w

Scourge. The boon rip slot. Most important skills are well of corruption, nightfall and breach. Some groups prefer power necro, some support. It's best to have both ready. Support will always net you the most rewards. https://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSgAYFlNwQYYsEmJO%20T1veA-DWJYjR1/pEkiKTRQ1ShYGo%206EQICwfLtvZBA-w

Scrapper. The most simple of dps due to its ability to cleave while being relatively safe. Use napalm off cool down, use bomb kit if able to stand on enemy. Elite Skill is what ever but mortar can be nice for killing siege. https://gw2skills.net/editor/?PegAIJlRwgYcsOWKO2LXtfA-DWJYiRFfh0UEUbCURJY77iAEwe4BA-w

I'm realively new to sPvP and I want to get better and more competitive. I'm trying to learn as much as possible from youtube and build guides.

I main condi specter and sometimes dabble in a bit of core necro.

One thing I've noticed is that there's players that i cannot manage to even hit once - whilst they bonk me and my teammates down with precise combos and escape healthy as they were on the way in. It's a really confusing and deflating experience

I'm drawn to gw2 pvp because it's not as gear focused as other mmos and the rewards make for a fun progression, but I'm truly daunted by the skill curve and the extremely confusing experiences I'm having getting steamrolled frequently

Im hoping to get alittle bit of insight as to if there anything super obvious that I'm missing and need to work on as a priority?

Sometimes I just get cleaved down super quickly by rogue AoE on the outskirts of a fight making literally 0 impact and its very confusing.

Edit - I'm not at all saying anyone is cheating, I'm just wondering how common this experience is because it's pretty confusing and hard to learn from,

I've wanted to do something in this map for ages! Between the weird interactions with the waterfall physics and exploiting the hell out of the beehives, this is definitely, 100% how the developers thought and intended we would use turtle.

All footage taken solo to disprove the myth that turtle isn't fun/useful without another player. Thanks to u/Bananaaaaaaa7035 who helped me with route ideas!
