Well it happend , after 13 years the game finally clicked to me big time.
By the time the game first launched in 2012 I was playing mainly mmos and the only thing I knew is "gear progression"
And so i Bought the game at launch played till level 80 and then a little bit more and when I realized the game doesn't have a progressin got board and quite.
Over the years I tried to get back. Bought HOT played for few hours did not understand anything got overwhelmed and again no gear progressin and quit.
After that i Bought path of fire at launch and the same things again. I even bought EOD at launch and played for 2 houres and told my self nope not again and asked for refund and got it.
Since then I've played WOW and Over the years got back for few houres and played the same things and quite but the game was always in my mind and I kept get updates on what new because overall, I loved the combat , the style of the world. The game is stuning ! so 1 weeks ago decided to try again.
This time I said I need a fresh place (EOD) a fresh playstyle (any of the new eod specs) so I bought eod and got the vitruso( used my level 80 mirage and had to get the hero points from HOT and IT WAS A NIGHTMARE) got the virtuso and started EOD story and asked my self "why I don't quite again ?"
And then i realized why.
I Dont really care about the story but I love to explore and see new places in video games. Over the years because I didn't care about the story i didnt bothered with it and tried to just jump straight in and got overwhelmed and you know what.
This time was different and after a few hours I realized why I don't quite.
I use the story to not get overwhelmed by the big map and "where should I go".
I play the story because it tells me where to go and Im exploring the whole expansion slowly and discovering new places , new events.
In the middle of story I decided I want a griffon but I realized i need 250 gold and i had only 10 gold. So stopped doing the story and started doing meta events (learned what those events are and wow they are fun as hell)
Then i realized I have in my storage bank 200 gold worth of materials and I don't care about crafting but I do care about the hot dog with the wings.
Sold everything but wait i need 30 more gold, where can I get them ? got them from wizards vault . Got my self the griffon , new thing i need now is to get the full mastery point for him cuz right now he is only a flying noodle with wings.
Suddenly I got a list of achivments I want to get the rewards from which are skins and other nice things , i want to finish the eod story , i know HOT im not gonna playing and POF Ive done for the griffon. Amd When the times comes I'll also get jantir wilds and later later the new expansion.
Ive Actually understand what they meant when they say to set your own goals because as you see , I have so much of them . And Got addicted to this game .
I hope that other new players and returning players will see this post and other like this and got the click they searching for to start enjoy this game .
Also this community is awesome man , when I create a group with the event name , NOTHING.
But When I add "I need help with" before the event name ? Players are rushing to aid ! . Amazing.
