Hey fellow GW2 family,

I bought the game back at release. Still remember running into the shop with my last money and slamming it on the table after getting the last physical copy they had.

Playing it was amazing. Been coming back every now and then to do some WvW or PvP. But as the number of my friends playing the game dwindled so did my playtime.

I ended up abandoning the game and played other stuff.

Now I have played mostly competitive games like league of legends (emerald 1) and marvel rivals (Grandmaster) for years and felt like coming back to "do whatever you want as long as you're having fun".

And I was not disappointed.

I bought the 3 expansions missed and started playing the story of Jaranthir. It took like 15 minutes until I ran into the nicest lvl 650 dude ever. A complete stranger.

Before I knew what was happening he logged on a new char and we were playing the new expansion together, exploring the map, doing quests. It felt like back then when I first played.

This community just welcomed me with open arms after so many years and I just wanted to say thank you!

Currently trying to get my first legendary finished, playing the next expansions for the skyscale and the spear. Reconnecting to the game with some old and new friends.

This game still slaps.

I just started playing a few days ago, and I’m honestly so overwhelmed in the best way by how lovely and helpful everyone has been. I’ve already met so many incredibly kind people who offered to help me out when I looked a little lost or unsure of what I was doing. I was even invited to a guild where everyone was so welcoming and happy to lend a hand.

Yesterday, I did my very first dungeon, and I was amazed by how patient everyone was. They took the time to explain everything, walk me through it, and make sure I felt comfortable. At the end, everyone said “good job” and “thank you,” and it just left me smiling.

As someone who’s been playing League of Legends for 15 years, I’m genuinely shocked by how sweet a community can be. I’m having such a great time exploring the world, doing quests, and joining events. It’s still a lot to take in, but knowing that people actually care makes all the difference.

I’ve tried a lot of MMOs before, but you guys are by far the kindest and most welcoming community I’ve ever experienced. Thank you for being so wonderful to new players it truly means the world :)

As a longtime Guild Wars 2 player, I felt it was time for a change and decided to take a break to try something different. Since I’ve always loved the Guild Wars universe, I figured — why not go back and play Guild Wars 1? So I played through everything, from Prophecies to Eye of the North and the Beyond content.

This happened right after the second Jenthir Wilds patch dropped. Now that I’ve finished GW1, I’ve started leveling a Revenant in GW2.

That said, I don’t want to ignore my current characters, so I came up with a new goal: I want to craft a legendary weapon for each of them. That means completing map exploration to 100% and then farming achievements.

How about you guys? What keeps you motivated to keep playing? Is it raids, fractals, achievements, new character builds?

Would love to hear your thoughts — always looking for fresh ideas and inspiration!
