Example comment

It renders correct in a browser but all the line breaks are replaced with a weird symbol in the app.

Not a big deal or anything but I wanted to share!

Edit: This is a weird thread, and might be a one-off. Maybe I have one of those users blocked and it's hiding the rest of the thread? I dunno, and I'll check. // It doesn't appear that I have any of those users blocked.

After opening my profile history, I can open a thread in my profile view. Clicking into a reply comment takes me to my comment on the post.

I cannot see the full comment thread when I view the full posts history on a post and trying to actually get to new comments is like trying finding the exit at IKEA.

Basically, I can't navigate to a thread to reply, and I had an awesome snarky comment prepared, but forgot it trying to get there.

Navigation behavior is so strange, either I have developed pre-release Alzheimer's, or Connect is bugged. (I don't discount either scenario.)

Sorry, I got jokes today.

If I tap a notification it is no longer opening the inbox. It is, however, marking it as read. I think this was working correctly a few versions ago.

I'm not sure if this is a Lemmy.world issue or a Connect issue. Any time there's a refresh of any kind, I see a lot of these errors. Sometimes the majority of pictures not displaying.

If a video begins playing, it cannot be kept paused. The play/pause control appears only when the video is full-screen. The video can be paused in full-screen, but when pressing the X to close out of full-screen, the video begins playing again.

Scrolling away from the video or navigating to another feed/community does not pause the video either.

This is most noticable on videos with audio, where the audio continues long after trying to navigate away.

This is a bit odd. From my feddit.uk account (this one) I get the above for posts on !dailybunnies@lemmings.world.

If I log into the account they were posted with (this is my bot) on lemmings.world they display as expected:

If I log back in as myself on feddit.uk website, the images also display as expected (Connect doesn't seem to want to upload this one, but you'll see it without logging in at feddit.uk/c/dailybunnies@lemmings.world).

What's different?

After a post is clicked, it seems that all thumbnails are forced to refresh. (Attached image shown immediately after a click)

Also, what may just be the result of a cache clear, doom scrolling seems to cause a similar lag after scrolling past +50 posts. Thumbnail loading becomes laggy, but not sure if related to the issue above.

When the lag starts, Connect will lag fairly bad for as long as a minute. I have also turned off image preload, but that had no effect.

Side bug, changing the title in the new post edit cleared my first post body.

See attached. Ignore the red part. Blue arrow points at a delete button that gives this strange error. I've obscured the private message for anonymity, previously above those buttons.

Is this button supposed to work? Why does the error talk about editing, if it's a delete button?

Hi, in version 207 I only get a black screen for Frontpage, but I know there are unread posts there. Local and all load fine.

I've had this happen before but if I minimised and switched back to the app it would load, which isn't working now. I tried clearing cache.

~~None of them do anything~~

Now they do! If you're getting the same issues, update to the newest beta

I used to tap the "front-page" text in the top left to jump to top and refresh. That no longer works. Three dots=> refresh does, but maybe a floating "jump to top" button would be easier (it doesn't need to refresh).

This started happening a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if it was caused by an OS update or an app update but it is relatively annoying.

Howdy,

I just wanted to report this little bug. For the last week or two, all comments will automatically be sorted by Hot. Usually I set my default comment sort to Top, but no matter what I change the default comment sort to, it always sorts by Hot when I open a thread. Changing instances doesn't solve it either. If it's important to know, my device is a Google Pixel 7.

It's not a critical bug, but it's been annoying for me, especially since Connect is the primary way I use Lemmy. Love the app otherwise.

Thanks!

When trying to view an image in landscape, the image will be zoomed in on the top of the image. Frequently it will be black space (at least in dark mode) even if the image doesn't have black space above it.example in portrait

example in portrait mode.

Attempting to zoom out the image or scroll around just exits the image.

Last couple of days there's several issues with the UI. Thumbnails fail to load and symbols and letters are missing all over.

When blocking a community via a post that is in the Hot feed, the feed will scroll all the way the top of the feed, forcing a need to scroll through previously viewed posts to get back to where I was. This seems like a fairly recent change in the last week or two.

Hello!

Longtime Connect user, I would like to add a bug:

Since last version a couple of days ago, when someone posts a comment to a comment I posted in a thread, you get the usual little red number (1) and when you check out your new messages, there is their answer.

So far so good.

Now when I click the message to post an answer to their answer, and this is the bug, instead of showing my post plus the answer (in the corresponding thread) it only shows the answer!

So if the answer is "no" for example, I have no idea which one of my posts it refers to. This becomes problematic in threads with lots of posts.

HTH!

Cheers and thanks for this amazing soft!

If I edit a post and the press the submit arrow, it looks like it's posting, but then reappears at the edit screen. I have to back out, leave the confirmation box. The edit does actually work, so that's nice.

I've tried to post to factorio at lemmy.world twice now and it's gone to autism at lemmy.world

Blocking a community from a post's ... menu causes the timeline to refresh. This only happens when blocking directly from the timeline, not from within the post. It also kind of happens when blocking from a community's page, refreshing that community's timeline but not the main timeline. The refreshing can be frustrating because it takes you back to the top of the timeline and you have to scroll all the way back to where you were.

I'm using version 1.0.200 from the Play Store.

I haven't seen this particular issue since early versions of Connect.

223

In the latest version the blurry images previews appear to have returned. Also a couple of versions ago, the article previews stopped displaying - it now just shows a link icon with the domain, rather than any image preview like you get on the default Lemmy UI (and previously in Connect).

Is there a way to type in a server name and view any visible (to the user, on their instance) feeds or communities in isolation?

Let's say I'm curious to know what the top content available from lemmy.world is for a given day from my instance, lemmy.zip. Searching seems like the right solution, but unfortunately it doesn't present the data the way i expect (not only posts from that instance) and there doesn't seem to be a way to sort by either activity or recency of a given post.

It would be nice if the user could set up feeds akin to local that target any posts visible to the user from an instance of their choice. I'm hedging on the side that this behavior might already exist in some form, but if not feel free to edit the title to feature request.
