It seems that we are getting prerelease packs from the coming Wilds Unknown expansion and onwards.

Each pack will have the following

  • 6 Wilds Unknown booster packs
  • 1 of 6 promo cards (one per ink!)
  • 1 cardboard deck box
  • 4 Disney Lorcana dice
  • 1 special set-specific item
  • 1 rules sheet

As a Pokemon player, which already have similar prerelase packs, I am very happy about this news!

With the upcoming new set, there are some updates to the Lorcana rules.

Most rule updates have to do with the new mechanics (boost, Alert) and how everything is defined. So take your time and read through the changes.

Frank Karsten won the DLC Milwaukee this weekend with his Steel Amethyst deck.

Mine, at the moment favorite deck Sapphire Steel, landed in Top32 with player Tyler Tsunekawa. Well done!

But there there was some controversies, such as when Dinh Khang Pham had to swap out some of his cards for proxy cards (Link to X)

So all in all, it was a good weekend for Lorcana. I saw some games on twitch and it was very fun to watch.

So very character has support due to Alice, Arthur giving 6 to Olaf, Olaf has 7 now, Olaf going to quest lore, giving 7 to each character for the carrots, and another 7 to Alice since he also has support now!?
Any oppose?

The first box you tear into of a new Disney Lorcana set is always the best one. Every pack you open adds 12 new cards to your collection and 12 new tools for your deck-building toolbox. Even the “bad” cards are exciting to find, especially if you’re a master set collector like me, filling binders with one of every card in each set. I love hunting for new cards as much as playing the actual game, so while it’s not as cost-effective as buying singles, there’s nothing like the thrill of ripping open a fresh booster box.

At least, that was the case before Fabled. The newest Lorcana set represents a fresh start for the TCG, as the first-ever rotation sunsets the first 800-some-odd cards added to the game. Fabled rescues about 170 from the first four sets, making it Lorcana’s first reprint expansion, and consequently, something of a new base set for the game.

Disney Lorcana goes from strength to strength, and Fabled – its ninth set since launch – is closer than ever.

The new set introduces a whole host of new cards, brings A Goofy Movie into the card game, and finally adds fan-favorite Darkwing Duck.

With the set enjoying a pre-release already, we’re just days away from its full debut, so here’s everything you can find on store shelves and what you should look out for.

The Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game by Ravensburger turns the final page in its fairy tale ‘First Chapter’, reinvigorating the game with its most recent and ambitious release, ‘Fabled.’ Fabled is the title of the 9th set of Disney Lorcana, but Fabled is much more than just another set of some 200+ new cards. Grab your magic feather and let’s adventure into the story!

Amazingly, this month, Disney Lorcana is entering its third year. With that milestone comes some big changes. First, with the release of Fabled, cards from the first four sets of Lorcana will be retired from Core Constructed competitive play. In turn, at least half of the cards found in the latest chapter are reprints, re-introducing some favorites from the first year. However, while some of these cards may be familiar, Fabled still managed to pack in some exciting new elements, including the arrival of A Goofy Movie to the game and the debut of two new rarities.

15

Fabled is Disney Lorcana’s ninth expansion and is the first set to include reprints alongside new cards. The reprints are cards from the game’s earliest expansions that would have otherwise rotated from the Core Constructed format. Fabled will also introduce two new rarities to the game — Epic and Iconic. Epic rarity cards are rarer than Legendary cards but, not quite as rare as Enchanted, and only two cards per set will come in the Iconic rarity, surpassing Enchanted as the hardest to come by.

16

These two cards are powerful additions to the upcoming expansion that honor their history in clever ways.

17

At Gen Con 2025, Disney Lorcana celebrated its two-year anniversary in a big way by revealing A Goofy Movie and Iconic Mickey and Minnie cards headed to the Fabled expansion, details on Whispers in the Well, Winterspell, and Toy Story cards, and even a brand-new set of Disney Lorcana puzzles.

There's a lot to look forward to in the ever-expanding world of Disney Lorcana, and you can check out all the latest news and cards below!

So I took a Ruby/Amber pirate deck to a set championship. I don't enjoy playing meta decks, so I build my own deck and I test them against meta decks as good as I can.

While testing I learned that my worst matchup was the evasive Elsa/Genie deck, and possibly other evasive-heavy decks. I added Moana - Island Explorer and witterpated to try to counter such decks.

In the championship, of course, I met almost only Blurple Elsa/Genie/Hades deck, and didn't win any matches at all.

In Pokemon TCG, there are possibilities to build counter decks against current meta decks, by either hitting for weakness, making it harder for the meta opponent to attack by walling Pokemon or disabling abilities.

Is it possible to build viable counter decks in Lorcana?

For evasive characters there are cards to banish or apply damage, but it is not very consistent, since you can really search for cards you need.

Could you counter a deck such as steel song? With your own steel song deck?

Would a counter deck be to get 20 lore as fast as possible, ignoring interaction as much as possible?

Would you build a burn/control deck, just to clear the opponents board and slowly reach 20 lore?

What options do we have here?

So I am sure that most of us has already seen the card breakdown for the Fabled Set 9 (if not I uploaded a screenshot).

I have read many comments where veteran players complaint about the number of reprints. And I wonder what everyone here think about it.

I understand that those who have a playset of all cards since set 1, doesn't have much to get from this set. But the biggest winners are the new, and those who missed some of the earlier set, players, which I think is important for the game to grow in numbers.

Personally I think that this set will be very good. As a "veteran" player since set 3, I don't have all the cards. The cards I needed, which didn't cost too much, I bought as singles. And I don't play meta decks.

But with this set I might (depending on which cards are reprinted) have a chance to get enough cards so that I can build a post-rotation meta deck. Not that I want to, but I finally want to have a chance of winning a game in the next set championship.

As Disney Lorcana nears the end of its second year, the latest chapter Reign of Jafar has hit store shelves. In addition to Single Player Decks, booster packs, accessories, and another Illumineer’s Quest — this one called Palace Heist — a new Illumineer’s Trove is also available. Our friends at Ravensburger were nice enough to send me this latest collection, so let’s take a look at what’s inside and what I think of this particular edition.

I was holding off posting until I opened packs in case I got something cool. =)

This is worth around $85 bucks according to TCG player.
