Thanks for posting the rules update! <3

Sorry if this is not the right place to pitch this. Feel free to take it down.

This Halloween, Friday Oct 31st, is the release date for the new Riftbound game by Riot Games. My interest in the game is from a place of loving card games. I've been a huge card game fan since I played pokemon as a kid. I played alot of Hearthstone in college and after. Then in the last few years I've played Magic the Gathering Commander. Riftbound mechanically seems like a very solid game and I'm super excited about it.

If people would like a place to discuss the game, strategy, post relevant news articles, deck ideas, etc let me know. I think a dedicated community would a great way to achieve that.

If you want to see an example, take a look at the lorcana community I moderate on lemmy.world.

I could make the community or someone else could. But if I make the community, all I ask is for at least one other person to help moderate it. Single moderator communities can run into issues if that one moderator makes a mistake. So to avoid that single point of failure I would like to work with people to make such a community function smoothly. edit: typo

Also a community doesn't have to be the go to solution. We could post Riftbound memes in 196. Thanks for reading this and I'm excited to hear what people have to say. <3

Thank you for sharing this! It's exciting to see what people are playing with and winning tournaments with. =D

It's 2025 and people are jailbreaking their beds. neofox, facepalm

You are welcome not to I guess. It wouldn't be cope though if you directed 3 out of 4 of those at me.

If the AI was a person the mods could have banned them. The developers had to patch how the AI responded to stimuli to prevent this behavior.

The problem isn't only the bad behavior. It's the automation of the bad behavior that enables systems and essentially tool assisted people to mass produce the bad behavior in a way that can't be managed without aggressive moderation.

Also, that sucks that the filter got applied to the article. It wasn't there when I read it initially.

So I was obsessively reading this manga about fish with legs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyo

And the bonus manga with the Steven Universe human sized holes in the sides of mountains. This was before Steven Universe as far as I'm aware.

spoilerThe holes were not from incubated crystal gems.

While my mom was listening to the earlier song OP's talking about on a loop while working out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UVNT4wvIGY

So the two are linked in my head as if the song was used in a trailer for a movie adaption of the manga. It was a while ago, like summer of 2011, but that's what popped in my head the second I saw "Somebody I used to know".

It's weird how both songs have the same intro but the new one sounds relatable. Oh, after watching the full music video for the new one it seems that the new is clearly a homage to the original:

That's cool. I'm glad they made it. They even have the people covered in the background art standing against the wall. =D

Well, now I know about that.

This was more about AI suggesting harmful stuff to people like how people got poisoned because of the Tide Pod challenge meme. Cleaning materials kill. =/

This is why I'm glad I'm on lemmy and not reddit. And why we should not want to be allowing AI generating messages on this website in lieu of comments and posts from other people.

Reddit’s conversational AI product, Reddit Answers, suggested users who are interested in pain management try heroin and kratom, showing yet another extreme example of dangerous advice provided by a chatbot, even one that’s trained on Reddit’s highly coveted trove of user-generated data.

However, a man was poisoned in 2025, after a suggestion of ChatGPT to replace sodium chloride in his diet with sodium bromide; sodium bromide is a safe replacement only for non-nutritional purposes, i.e., cleaning.[3][4][5]

The boost mechanic looks like a lot of fun. As do the new cards that can't ready if you have three or more cards in hand.

Also the whisper and enchanted cards look amazing.

Ravensburger will release Whispers in the Well, a new booster set for Disney Lorcana, into retail on November 14, 2025.

The first box you tear into of a new Disney Lorcana set is always the best one. Every pack you open adds 12 new cards to your collection and 12 new tools for your deck-building toolbox. Even the “bad” cards are exciting to find, especially if you’re a master set collector like me, filling binders with one of every card in each set. I love hunting for new cards as much as playing the actual game, so while it’s not as cost-effective as buying singles, there’s nothing like the thrill of ripping open a fresh booster box.

At least, that was the case before Fabled. The newest Lorcana set represents a fresh start for the TCG, as the first-ever rotation sunsets the first 800-some-odd cards added to the game. Fabled rescues about 170 from the first four sets, making it Lorcana’s first reprint expansion, and consequently, something of a new base set for the game.

Disney Lorcana goes from strength to strength, and Fabled – its ninth set since launch – is closer than ever.

The new set introduces a whole host of new cards, brings A Goofy Movie into the card game, and finally adds fan-favorite Darkwing Duck.

With the set enjoying a pre-release already, we’re just days away from its full debut, so here’s everything you can find on store shelves and what you should look out for.

Based on a true story.

[Alt-text]A brain asks a woman in bed, "Hey you goin' to sleep?". The woman responds, "Yes, now shut up". The brain says, "The internet is speculating that Trump died." The woman has a dead eye stare and is not going to sleep in a timely fashion.

The Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game by Ravensburger turns the final page in its fairy tale ‘First Chapter’, reinvigorating the game with its most recent and ambitious release, ‘Fabled.’ Fabled is the title of the 9th set of Disney Lorcana, but Fabled is much more than just another set of some 200+ new cards. Grab your magic feather and let’s adventure into the story!

Amazingly, this month, Disney Lorcana is entering its third year. With that milestone comes some big changes. First, with the release of Fabled, cards from the first four sets of Lorcana will be retired from Core Constructed competitive play. In turn, at least half of the cards found in the latest chapter are reprints, re-introducing some favorites from the first year. However, while some of these cards may be familiar, Fabled still managed to pack in some exciting new elements, including the arrival of A Goofy Movie to the game and the debut of two new rarities.

Fabled is Disney Lorcana’s ninth expansion and is the first set to include reprints alongside new cards. The reprints are cards from the game’s earliest expansions that would have otherwise rotated from the Core Constructed format. Fabled will also introduce two new rarities to the game — Epic and Iconic. Epic rarity cards are rarer than Legendary cards but, not quite as rare as Enchanted, and only two cards per set will come in the Iconic rarity, surpassing Enchanted as the hardest to come by.

These two cards are powerful additions to the upcoming expansion that honor their history in clever ways.

At Gen Con 2025, Disney Lorcana celebrated its two-year anniversary in a big way by revealing A Goofy Movie and Iconic Mickey and Minnie cards headed to the Fabled expansion, details on Whispers in the Well, Winterspell, and Toy Story cards, and even a brand-new set of Disney Lorcana puzzles.
