After two seasons, the queer pirate romcom starring Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby was cancelled by HBO’s Max earlier this month – and its fans quickly mobilised. They raised more than US$21,000 for the campaign, which was used to purchase a billboard in Times Square and have a plane fly over Hollywood with a banner reading “Save Our Flag Means Death”. They also flooded Max’s social media, phone lines and customer feedback inboxes en masse, and launched a petition that has just under 80,000 signatures at time of writing.

Talking Pictures, run by 74-year-old Noel Cronin and his daughter Sarah, airs nothing but classic old TV shows and movies. The content is vintage, and so is the way the channel is put together: Neil builds the broadcast schedule for each day the old fashioned way — by hand, with each movie's details noted on a paper card.

But if you think looking backwards is bad for business, think again. Talking Pictures has become a huge cult success, reaching millions of viewers across the U.K. The family-run channel launched on linear TV in the U.K. in 2015 and has grown to be one of the biggest independent channels in Britain. About four million people tune in every month, according to the British Broadcasters' Audience Research Board.

Netflix will implement the change in Canada and the U.K. in the second quarter of the year before "taking it from there," the letter said.

The company did not specify when (or whether) the change would impact U.S. subscribers.

In this scene a white man is waiting on a fence and then two guys in a low rider who are part of a gang come and ask him what he is doing there and he says he is in California for holiday or business and they threaten him with a gun and take his money and phone. Then he goes to a leader of a black gang and asks if they were his guys that robbed him and that he was meant to meet someone but he never came or was late and then the gang leader takes revenge on the people that stole the phone.
