Patty sits on the steps with a book. She looks in front of her and exclaims,'A parade!" "Oh, boy!"
She runs off continuing,"There's nothing that I like better than a parade!"
She stands smiling as Charlie Brown (holding a flag) and Snoopy walk by in full parade uniforms.
She returns to her seat, opens her book and says,"Well, let's see now....where was I?"

Charlie Brown sits on the curb and says,"Patty and Violet just got spanked for running out in the street...."
He leans on a garbage can and says,"Shermy got spanked for breaking a window"
He stands in the lane and continues,"I'd better not speak too soon, though...."
He walks off down the lane and concludes,"I'm probably just living on borrowed time myself!"

Patty stands next to Violet and holds out a handbag. She says,"This is 'mad money'."
Violet asks,"'Mad Money'? What's that for?" Patty looks behind her and responds,"I'll show you...."
Charlie Brown starts questioningly as Patty whops him with her handbag across his head.
He sits on the floor holding his head and confused as the girls walk off. Patty concludes,"All girls carry 'mad money'."

Violet walks along with flowers in her hand. She says,"I think I'll give these flowers to Charlie Brown"
She approaches him sitting down reading and holds the flowers out to him. He turns to her frowning and exclaims,"I can't accept flowers from a girl!!"
She stoops next to him and asks,"How would it be if you just snatched them out of my hand?" He replies,"Well...."
She walks off flowerless saying,"Charlie Barown is so manly!"

Charlie Brown stands over Schroeder sitting on the ground slurping on his thumb. The former says,"You shouldn't suck your thumb, Schroeder..."
He continues,"It might make your teeth crooked..." Schroeder continues sucking his thumb.
He crouches in front of Schroeder and says,"Or spoil the shape of your mouth..." Schroeder continues sucking.
Charlie Brown sits on the floor, looks at the reader, and sucks his thumb. He concludes,"Besides that....it's catching!"

Snoopy sits nearby watching Charlie Brown hit the ball a short distance with his golf-club.
Charlie Brown watches as Snoopy picks the ball up into his mouth.
He whistles as they walk off.
As Snoopy drops the ball into a golf-hole, Charlie Brown takes out his pad and says,"Another par! That gives us a sixty-nine!"

A puzzled Schroeder looks up at Charlie Brown leaning over him. The latter asks, "Can you wink, Schroeder?"
He crouches in front of Schroeder with one eye closed. He says,"Close one eye like this...see? It's easy"
As Schroeder closes both of eyes, he exclaims,"No, not both eyes...just one!"
He grimaces at the reader as Schroeder starts to snore.

Charlie Brown sits on the ground eating an ice-cream cone. He frowns at Snoopy jumps up and down in front of him with his tongue out. He exclaims,"I've never seen a dog who liked ice cream so much!"
His frown deepens as Snoopy's antics grew. He says,"Hmm..."
Snoopy stops as he pushes the entire cone towards him and exclaims,"Oh, all right! Here!! Take the whole thing!"
As Snoopy lies on the ground with his paws up in the air, Charlie Brown turns to the reader and concludes,"He fainted!"

He walks off angrily exclaiming, "I give up! You can't teach this new generation anything!!"

Charlie Brown, wearing his mitt, crouches behind Patty who is standing at the plate with her bat, waiting to hit the coming ball. He says,"C'mon! Throw it right in here....she can't hit it!"
He starts as she hits the ball with a pow.
He remains at the plate alone, watching her run the bases.
As she runs back to home, he says,"I missed you while you were away!" She smiles.

Charlie Brown looks at him puzzled, as he exclaims and stalks off angrily.

Snoopy looks at the 'ghost' puzzled as the 'ghost' sits on the curb next to him and exclaims,"Rats!"
