The streaming giant has inked a deal with Sesame Workshop for new episodes of the long-running children’s show, just months after Warner Bros. Discovery opted not to renew its output deal for the program in a strategic shift at its streaming service Max (which will soon return to being HBO Max).

In a notable change from the HBO deal, new episodes of Sesame Street will also run day and date on PBS and the PBS Kids app, ensuring that they are easily accessible. Sesame Street has been available on PBS for more than 50 years, though during the HBO deal, the episodes debuted on PBS months after their HBO premieres.

“This unique public-private partnership will enable Sesame Workshop to bring our research-based curriculum to young children around the world with Netflix’s global reach, while ensuring children in communities across the U.S. continue to have free access on public television to the Sesame Street they love,” Sesame Workshop CEO Sherri Westin said in a statement.

“I strongly believe that our educational programming for children is one of the most important aspects of our service to the American people, and Sesame Street has been an integral part of that critical work for more than half a century,” added Paula Kerger, president and CEO of PBS. “We’re proud to continue our partnership in the pursuit of having a profound impact on the lives of children for years to come.”

Original Title: Quilts — some sewn, some painted — were part of a 9,000-square-foot art installation that stretched across the National Mall on Saturday, its 258 panels stitching together a story of transgender pride and defiance less than a mile from the White House.

Morgan was teased throughout her early years of school for her stutter. She developed social anxiety and often asked her twin sister to speak for her. But then in high school she made a nice group of friends who gave her a little confidence. She decided to run for class president. She had to give a speech in front of the whole school. The speeches were recorded and then played in classes. That means she had to watch and listen as her peers listened to her speech (and her stutter). She cringed through as she watched other listen to her speak. But then something incredible happened. The kids LOVED her speech and she won. They voted her as class president. She couldn't believe it and she started to speak up more, and became less impacted by people's hurtful comments. She even had the confidence to go to college on her own, as opposed to with her twin. In high school, before heading to college, she wrote an open letter to those who will meet her for the first time. Here it is: https://theunsealed.com/this-is-why-my-stutter-wont-stop-me/

Halim Flowers was sentenced to life in prison at 16 years old. At some point while in prison, he decided he wasn't living a life authentic to who he truly was at heart. Instead, he had given in to the world around him and the pain within him. So, he decided to change. While in prison he wrote 11 books, he educated himself, he started to network, writing letters to leaders and more. Eventually, he helped get a law passed that allowed him to apply for re-sentencing. The law got passed, and after two decades in prison, he was released. Immediately, he went to work.

He became an artist, and uses his art to send messages about the justice system and the importance of love. He has since sold millions of dollars worth of art.

A few years after he was released, he worked with The Unsealed to share a letter to his 16-year-old self. At that age, his nickname was face. It's powerful and moving, and sheds light on how life can go so wrong for someone who has so much going for them. Here it is if you'd like to read it is: https://theunsealed.com/dear-face-if-you-listen-to-this-advice-you-wont-spend-two-decades-in-prison/
