The dem message of "we won't do better but the other guy will do worse" failed. It was a bad message and it lost them the election against a terrible candidate. Voters need to be motivated to vote and that message isn't motivating enough

Right, it wasn't the media harping on every single thing the Dem candidate did wrong while apologizing and making excuses for Trump at every turn. Going on and on about Biden's age and then never bringing up age again once Biden dropped out of the race. No it's all the Dems fault 🙄

[–] Objection@lemmy.ml -2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Cool, so what's your plan for addressing bias in the media?

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Wtf kind of dumbass question is that? Do you think I'm Rupert Murdoch?

[–] Objection@lemmy.ml 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

So, if that's why the democrats lost, and there's nothing that can be done to address it without being Rupert Murdoch, then are the democrats just destined to lose forever?

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

So do you have a suggestion or just criticism?

[–] Objection@lemmy.ml 4 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

I agree with what MisterScruffy said. There were things that actually were within the democrats control that they could have done differently that would have allowed them to win. Blaming external factors outside of anyone's control that you have no solution for addressing is completely unproductive, and just an excuse.

The media is outside of my control but there are certainly people who are in control and I will put the blame on them that they will deserve. Bizarre take, dude.

At that point, why not just say, "Harris lost because Trump didn't drop out of the race and endorse her?" Completely useless analysis.
